This speech is so iconic and RM didn't mind to show himself so vulnerable in order to reach people's hearts. 💜

FYI RM self-taught English. He didn't grow up in the West, he didn't go to school in the West. Imagine the work he did to learn it. He inspires me so much!

@@Indigo-bn5bl From what I've seen it was Jin who went to study to New Zeland and not Namjoon. Namjoon tought himself english by watching friends. His accent while speaking english is actually very inspired by the hip hop artists he listened to at that time.

@@MarianaPerez-di4lr I know he thought himself English in that way but he did study in NZ.
“I also studied in New Zealand for four months when I was 12 years old. It was exactly 125 days. I remember that because I wrote about it in my diary. Traveling helped with my education. I got to experience so many things,” he said.

I'm one of those people! I have ADHD, depression (for 14 years now!), anxiety, and now they're thinking I might be on the autism spectrum. Having mental or personality disorders is HARD. Life is way harder. I'ts like everyone plays a game on normal mode, and you're here playing in expert mode.
BTS found me a month away from my planned unalivement, and I hyperfixated so hard for two years that it actually improved my mental health just by their outlook on life and how positive their music and message was, I still have my problems, but I have better coping skills so I'm able to deal with things better. It also helped that my mom also fell in love with BTS and their message, they started taking my issues more seriously.
BTS destigmatizes mental health by talking about it, which is why it's so important to have people being vocal about it. My friends and I talk about it openly now, I do so as well with my family as well even if they disagree on a lot of stuff bcs they're old school, but it helps people know they aren't alone which makes things easier. My dad nowadays is way more open with his depression, which I've known he's had for as long as I've been alive since my sister died in an accident, and then his best friend and his brother to su!cide. I told my dad I had planned to unalive myself, and that I struggle with things, and my dad now acknowledges that he's not okay, that he has problems, things he never said before. I found out my eldest brother was also very depressed, and wrote several s!notes.
The first step is always talking about things.

The head of UNICEF and much of the leadership of the UN really seem to respect the guys especially after the 2021 speech when they all spoke about climate change and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). But RMs speech first speech is so well delivered especially as he’s not a native speaker and aside from what he took in HS he is self taught.
The Love Yourself campaign is truly beautiful and we are so proud the example they set in the world. And it’s still ongoing.

  • @dyords31

Loving yourself first will teach & allow you to love others… Another thing, you can’t give (love) to others what you don’t have (love within yourself); you can’t expect others to love you if you, yourself don’t love you.. I agree that one shouldn’t depend one’s happiness to another person or object because if that person leaves you of the object gets destroyed or goes missing, , then he/she/it will take your happiness with them.

People need to start looking at mental health issues the same as any other medical condition. Do you tell cancer patients to just get over it? My daughter has bipolar and schizoaffective disorder. You literally can diagnose from a PET scan as it lights up different places in the brain than “normal” brains. But the cost of treatment is unbelievable. Just one of her meds is $2800 every 3 weeks. No wonder so many people end up homeless. It’s actually my daughters biggest fear that when family is gone she ends up homeless. I have been so happy to see her learn to love herself for who she is thanks to these types of messages

This is a bit random, but can I ask what you guys' EQ and Compressor settings? 😂 Anyway, Namjoon's speech literally sets BTS apart from any artist/group in our generation. They're people who understand that they have a platform to speak on and they do. They don't have to, but they still do. They're human and they truly care about other humans, something that everyone should aspire to be. Namjoon spoke so well and he practiced so hard. I'm so proud of him. It makes me happy to be born in the same generation as them.

Thank you for reacting to this speech, it is still one of the most beautiful and impactful speech I've ever heard in my life.
I agree with your opinion about how diversity is not something to be mocked about, it should be acknowledged as uniqueness and be accepted as it is. It would be nice if everyone treat other people as they want to be treated too, but sadly it isn't the case yet. I don't really understand why, but it seems like people are try to labeling/ categorize things (even people) and why is people get angry at the slightest trigger?
Anyway, I'm just hoping that each person can actually give a piece of positivity to one another, and that will continue to spread 😊.
As for recommendation, maybe you will like a type of show like 'Suchwita'. It's Suga's show that available on yt, and they discussed different topics according to the guests.
    Stay healthy! 😊
