Hi all! Until I get my lighting situation sorted in my studio, the next couple of videos are filmed in my doggie pool on the floor in the corner to prevent glare so you can actually see what I'm doing LOL. This is the third video on a 20x20 Level 3 gallery wrapped canvas. Lots of action in this one as I veered off into experiment land halfway through, the slogged through a fair, until getting a super pretty painting!

Colors/Brands/Pouring Medium Recipe:
Colors/Brands/Pouring Medium Recipe:
House Paint-base aka puddle for the substrate:
PPG Multi-Pro in Eggshell.
Pouring Medium aka PM Recipe: mix with all colors EXCEPT the cell activator:
Behr 8300 Untinted Deep Base Paint (Home Depot); and Valspar Ultra Base C Untinted base. 50/50. Mix well. NO varnish added!
Brands/Colors mixed:
Golden Fluid Acrylics in Iridescent Bright Gold, and Quinacridone Nickel Azo Gold. This Little Piggy pigments in Waterfall and Lagoon.
Golden, Atelier, and Da Vinci Fluid Acrylics: I put about 2-2 1/2 ounces of the pouring medium into a 3 ounce cup, then squirt in color until I reach my desired shade. Mix well.
For tube paint, I added an ounce of paint (heaping tablespoon) to a 3 ounce cup, then added 2 ounces of pouring medium. If still thick then I'll add a teaspoon of varnish/water to thin. (I make a bottle of "Jo-Wa" by adding 1/3 JoSonja Gloss Varnish and the rest water, and keep it in a squeeze bottle and use as my "water.")
All pigments are 1/8th tsp. pre-disbursed with a small amount of JoSonja Varnish to wet it (stir really well), then add into a 3 oz. cup of Pouring Medium; stir well.
Cell Activator Color:
Australian Floetrol + Amsterdam Lamp Black and Amsterdam Grayish Blue. Approximately 3:1 ratio Floetrol to paint.

On the first one, I thought it was totally cool before you scrapped it! It was unique. And those colors! To my eye the center looked gorgeous as well as the ends. We're only halfway through, but I had to 😆 because you did the Fiona Touch, in the middle of the balloon dip. I actually like the painting now even though you didn't feel it was you. But I'll keep going to see what you do next.

I definitely preferred the look of it once you scraped of the outside edges, to show us, how it would look on a smaller canvas. I use that 'slim fit' on my dryer pretty much most of the time. Spreads the paint more evenly I find. x

I use my dryer with the novel attachment and I hold it straight up and down. I'd send you a picture if I could
I don’t like the attachment and the straight up and down motion is fun for small blooms but on a big canvas you need the angle to blow out the cells for a wider circumference.

I love the colour palette you're using Karen and get why you're obsessed with it. have you tried holding your hairdryer upside down to blow out a bloom? I find I can control the angle I blow at better when I do this, especially when working from above the canvas on the floor. I love watching your videos as they're both fun and informative.

Can you put your pool in top of your table for better angles? Others blow dry at a 45 degree angle. If that is helpful. Love the colors!

The colors were stunning, and the final result was gorgeous. Although I had liked the balloon effect, Once you redid the painting, I could understand why you did not like it. The Valspar untinted base which you mix with the Behr 8300, is it satin or semi-gloss?

It’s the cell activator. One color that goes on last that had a different ingredient from all the other colors. Recipe is in the description section.
