I can get the highways to hold up after porting better than the meteors. The meteors are horrible about chipping the plating. I will not touch those or the titanickel. Its a crap shoot tho bc I ported a titanickel for my personal ms440 and its held up fine. I like OEM, new west or farmertec to port. The farmertec are super easy to port but they are definitely not a long lasting plating lol.

I don’t see why there would be any realistic problems with using the sleeve. After all, it’s not uncommon in 4 stroke circumstances to use sleeves in engine repair AND diesel engines quite often use them from the factory. You GO Joe!

@@dynojoemods2764in theory the nikasil cylinder will wear better vs cast iron , have better heat transmitting properties and will allow tighter tolerances / more compression. In practice I don’t think you’ll notice f all of a difference! Have you thought about coarse honing the sleeve, to within
.001" then a fine hone, then a ultra fine hone . With 600-800+ grit, the bore should have a cross hatch , under the smooth feeling surface. Possibly look smooth almost polished, i have seen ppl use sand paper with kerosene or diesel.and a hand hone, just a few dozen passes with a drill at full speed, i saw Lake Speed jr. Talking about a similar modern ring pack require a hone with this type finish, freeing up HP. Id like to see someone build a tiny supercharger that will fit a saw, even at 1-3 psi it should gain power, atleast 8%-10% or so , maybe a 1/4" groove could be milled in tge flywheel and a 3/16" gear pressed on to spin a small screw type or roots type blower, even a rotary vane should produce some power, geting to 1 bar, 14-15psi is kikely impossible, the seals could possibly never handle it. However 5 -7psi or less i believe is possible, the seals may pop, i belive they can be managed. And it should double the TQ. Or near it, especially if a micro methanol injection can be incorporated a little 2oz bottle possibly using a venturi and boost pressure to spray water methanol into the engine at full throttle. It cools the intake charge and simulates high octane fuel. I believe that saw could do 20 hp plus,
