Well, I got frustrated that this guy didn’t understand the home button and power button didn’t work. Threw the iPad on the ground. It magically turned off and turned on and now it works 😂 I guess the universe was with me

Hi. Last night I dropped my iPadPro and the power button remains stuck (as if it’s pressed) and it won’t extrude when released. I can still somewhat get it to turn the power on and off using the button but have been doing this method on your video. Do you think there might be a tiny spring for the power button and it possibly dislodged during the drop?

Hey. Not sure if this will help you anymore but I basically did the same thing with my Pro and the spring is dislocated on mine. I can still use the button if needed, but I don’t want to break it anymore than it already is, you know? But yeah, your spring is probably like mine. You can try to clean it but I’m not sure if that will help necessarily. Apple told me it would cost 649 bucks (Canadian Dollar) to get it replaced which is waaaaay too steep on a student budget. Assistive Touch has helped me a ton to avoid using the lock button entirely but if you like to power off your device, just plug it in to turn it back on as described. Unless you find some way to fix it of course!

@@zozozilla Hey Thanks! Yeah, I just started using the Assistive Touch 2 days ago for screenshots. That’s like half the price of the iPad itself to get it fixed. LOL

@@mikewhocheeseharry5292 no prob lol it sucks that they are pretty fragile and expensive to fix. Pretty sleazy of them, but that's technology in the modern world! Luckily, there are ways around using the button. It's honestly not that necessary on the model to begin with but whatever lol. Glad it worked out for you!

@@zozozilla yeah I even had a case on it but it dropped on the edge and the sound of the drop… I knew something was broken. I also have a small damaged pixel on the screen, other than that, everything seems fine. It still kind of sucks without being able to reliably use the power bottom, but I’m going to try and open the iPad and see if I can fix it myself or find a shop near me that doesn’t cost too much.

OMG of course, thank you! Why didn't I think of that? My home button is hidden in back of a frame. I bought this awesome frame on etsy to convert an old ipad into a photo frame/slideshow/recipe files (also downloaded Spectrum App to watch TV while in the kitchen). It does it all with the virtual home button on the screen.... long winded Thank you!
