Today was the day that the Dakota was coming to Eelde again to perform a number of pleasure flights above the Northern part of The Netherlands. This time, me and my GoPro had the chance to come along, an opportunity that I certainly didn't want to miss.
The flight lasted for about 20 minutes and took us over the villages of Norg and Roden, then to the city of Assen and the TT race track nearby, before going back to Eelde. Weather couldn't be better, The crews were friendly as always and everyone had a blast!

Other than cutting out the tail landing this is an excellent video. I'm saving it for the future.
May the DC-3 live on for generations to come.
the sound of the radial engines don`t let you hear the sound of any voice screaming out loud,but the experience of flight in a c-47 is unique and unforgetable,thanks a lot ,made me a kid again,i am happy to tears, :-)

My first airplane ride was on a DC-3 back in 1956 from Rimouski to Godbout, the old lady's name was CF QBB ( Quebec Air ) Fell in love with her!
Amazing...the first time my Dad ever flew in an aircraft, it was one of these, training to be dropped in France (SOE Agent)...and he had to jump out...
Never landed in an aircraft until after the war :)
Great Video,amazing to realise that there are still a large number of these aircraft earning a daily living, bet you wont see many 80 years old Airbuses in 2097! Nice flight, great camera,lovely engine sound.

Wonderful video, thanks! I liked the part where you were flying with the left window opened for the most part. I love those DC3 and the first flight I ever had was on one. It was (I think) Trans Texas Airways from Amarillo to Denver. I wished I could go on one more of those DC 3 flights.

Lucky for me I Flew this DC-3s Before they where Gone here in the Philippines. I think there are Two or Three left Flying.

True story - the knobs on the DC-3s throttles ended up the window lever knobs on the DC-9.

Any idea what happened to the DC-3 on floats from Greenville, MA (N130Q).
I can't come across any photos or video of the aircraft flying that were taken after 2004, And when I attended the Greenville Seaplane Fly-In this past September I saw the DC-3 sitting in the grass at the airport, on it's wheels and appearing that it had not flown (or been moved) in quite some time. I was wondering if anyone knows why the aircraft is no longer flown and why the floats were removed?
