- After 12 years of being in a cult, I woke up and left and today I want to talk about being a whistleblower and the process that abusers will use when confronted.
My intention in shedding light on this is that it will free someone who watches this to be able to leave, to speak out and to not blame or gaslight yourself for the things that the abusers do to you when you finally become strong enough to leave.

DARVO stands for 'Deny, Attack, and Reverse Victim and Offender.'
Perpetrators often use DARVO to shame victims into believing they are responsible for the abuse.

The questioning was one of the red flags for me. It’s acceptable to question everything but them. You are taught in classes to question reality, excluding them, and the tools. The tools apply to everything else in life…bar them.

I had met all the requirements to become a facilitator and then realized I did not want to follow their path for several reasons. One time during one of their trainings, D. put a woman on the spot in a demeaning way in front of hundreds of people just because she really wanted to be picked for his body work on stage. I thought that was really uncalled for and there was none of that kindness that he preaches about all the time. I'm glad you are bringing this out into the open.
I left AA in early August before my sobriety date (August 3rd) and almost immediately started whistleblowing about what I consider the most successful cult in history. The next day there was a cop watching over my house, I was abandoned by everyone currently in AA. Several attempts were made to hoover me back, telling me I would relapse. But mostly they just ignore you and make you look like you're crazy to friends who aren't in the cult. I eventually was told to delete my Facebook by my wife (who has never had a drinking problem). So sadly, another man has been silenced about what he saw in "the rooms.". I'm now focused on rebuilding my life. And I'm still not drinking.
That's really scary! I was glad to see some documentaries coming out about the dark side of AA recently. I'm glad you are safe.
That cult leader is dripping with malevolence. You are amazing Lauren Marie for everything you are now doing to spread awareness of the complex abuse perpetrated against so many. I know in every fibre of my being that your grace and power in exposing them is catalysing their certain downfall. Massive love and respect to you and your family.

Lauren, I so admire your courage.
I heard the recording where the leader responded to you speaking out and was blown away with the repugnant response of a person that calls themselves a leader of consciousness.
I have no respect for anyone, leader of a cult or not, that can respond publicly in such a nature and to suggest that the person speaking out dies. I cannot tell you how disturbed I was to hear that. It was a Karmic threat and is more a reflection on that person than you in speaking that way.
A respectable leader of any group would not have spoken like that. While they may need to address the issue with their followers, there is a way to do it respectfully without the child like behaviour that he and his offsiders displayed in that recording. It was appalling and like school yard bullying.
The greatest lesson my father has taught me in my life was "never lower yourself to anyone's standards, always be the better person". In his message was the intent of rising above the poor behavior of the offender and not meeting the person at their disdained level.
So rise in strength with the voice/path you have chosen and do it as a true leader of honesty and integrity would, not the childlike schoolyard abhorrent B.S. that recording identified.

It is great you decide to talk I started bars September last year...I did the three basic BAR courses to start to teach, but I was hesitating cuz I was feeling something was odd. I listened a lot of postcast and did a lot of clearing loops, I bought a few, also books I couldn't read cuz is too much info but as you say I is every day listening and hoping and doing the questions and nothing happens, so yeah..you start to thing well if I do a new course or do more clearings or,..or..
Yesterday I listened you video and Inmediatly stop listening anything else...and NOW IS THE SPACE! 😂

When I left with a facilitator & her team that I was on to basically help her start her own new cult (lol, not that I realized it then) I was told to let people figure it out themselves. 😢I worked for her for about another year & #iGotOut again.😅🙌🏻🤗🙏🏻

Thank you for putting this video out and the others you have done about this, and for speaking on this. I was involved with this cult, luckily not to the level that you experienced, but I did get drawn into it. In these videos you have put into words some things I was feeling about the experience but didn’t know how to express properly.
Keep up the great work, you will help a lot of ppl, from those involved with that group, to other cults and even abuse relationships because they all draw parallels in the tactics they use.
Way more common than the average person thinks
When we left out cult they also slandered us on stage and condemned us to hell as the super loving Christian crowd cheered.

Not only are you allowed to be angry, but it's a healthily appropriate emotional response to the way you've been treated. It's great when you finally ditch the "distractor implant" nonsense and allow yourself to feel what you actually feel.

I think it is only applicable to those few in this "cult" who completely gave themselves up the the "cause", and make Gary and Dain the source of the everything, including the money. In this particular cult you are one of those few, who did it. Most people are taking classes, but keeping the distance. Like I did, untill i told Brandon off, and he told me off the cult. Since I was not dependent on the cult like this, was ok with that.
I'm happy that you were able to hold yourself apart sufficiently not to be damaged by your experience xtrasns. But Lauren is one of many many who were, for many different reasons, vulnerable to their manipulation and abuse. Lauren is not "one of the few" and you are not necessarily in the majority.

How do you deal with the anger and shame that comes after knowing how much money time energy and FAITH spent for AC?
I'm not sure. I'm still dealing with it some days and moving on living my life on other days. I think it would be weird not to be angry about being so manipulated for so long and wasting so many good years that I could have been putting to better use. I try to focus on what I can do now because none of us can change the past ;)
