Looking away is not always indicattive of a low performer. It could also mean they are recalling. No one converses and maintains a constant stare.

I am a manager in a small accounting practice. Not only did your videos/advice help me secure my position seven years ago, when I was merely applying to be a trainee, but now it’s helping me consider what to look for as I hire the next generation of trainees.
    Thanks for what you do.

Don, your next series really should be “how to hire the right vendors/consultants” in this day and age with so much outsourcing.

I disagree with the "intuition" part since most hiring managers end up hiring people that remind them of them, that connect with them, that they like, they could be friends with, and all other nonsense! Skills and abilities can not be measured a lot of times on an interview for many reasons! Most people are not good at interviewing because we don't get to practice such a skill but once every 2, 3, 4 or 5 years!

Following this advice would result in rejecting highly productive introverts who blossom into better employees than some chatterbox who bamboozles you in the interview.

Hi Don, thanks for sharing these great videos! I passed the first stage of my interview today I made with the people that I would work. I have the second interview with the hiring manager and some people from the team as I assume. I don’t know what he could ask me apart from being sure if I was a person who accepted their culture, values, goals and seeing how I wanted that job. Do you think what kind of questions he would ask me? Thanks a lot in advance!🙌🙌

Can you be my hiring manager... like for every job that I apply to? Then I know what you are looking for, checking everything off your list. 😆

I disagree with your enthusiasm/passion over skill. I've been stuck with working with a few people over the years who present and interview well, with all the enthusiasm and passion in the world, but when it comes to doing the job, they may as well not be there. They either have no aptitude for it, or their so called enthusiasm does not extend to actually learning the vast technical knowledge needed daily, if not hourly. A perceived lack of enthusiasm by an interviewer doesn't necessarily mean that they are not enthused, the interviewer just does not know what's going on in the interviewee's life at that point - e.g: how enthusiastic would you expect an applicant whose parent has just died, or has just gone to hospital for something serious to be ? Having said that, I still gave you a thumbs up ;)
