Had just heard this song, and immediately thought of this sequence. Now I can remember most of the film even though I haven’t seen it since I was 9. 🤣❤️🥰

Me too!! Just heard the song and it took me back to this scene.....hence why I'm here 😆. Watched in the cinema with school friends when I was about 12......am 44 now 🙈 xx
A Victoria Secrets Angel 😱! She's what, maybe 15? Never saw the movie. There's no way my son would let my granddaughter leave the house at that age dressed like that with thigh high stockings on!
I always wanted to be her when I got to that age but alas I was a country girl who was late bloomer. Such a beautifully simple scene. Poor dad. Guys were scared my dad would shoot them when I was growing up.
Gracien2008: NOT to be rude or any sort BUTS 2020 and Ill ALWAYS love Sr. Danza because of this film.😂😂😂😂🙄🙊🙈😱Why? Because my father is just like him.TOTAL CONTROL type.OH !!!!! and no parent deceive same blood.Im 41 Years old now, and I stil lcry its message.Huh, stupid girl......? Maybe so: Now, Do you hear or do you listen when your father speaks? Its just logic, RESPECT, education.
As a super protective brother to 4 sisters, 19 girl cousins, and 10 nieces I cannot imagine the gut-wrenching panic and concern of a father who is facing this moment. The thought of having a daughter makes arranged marriages seem like a better way to go.
I have been looking for this movie for 30 years, I only remembered this scene and this music. By pure chance I watched Tom Cruise's "Born on the 4th of July" which has the same song in the movie. Google did the rest.
this movie is a classic I have it. I've seen it so many times I remember when I was a little and Joey used to show up in the monster truck playing that song Feel the shake damn memories
I feel ya bro!! I was in some MAD love with Amy Dolenz man!! Used to watch this movie day and night because of her!! I was only like 8 or 9 when this came out but I wanted to marry this woman for real!! lol
It seems this entire film was for Richard's benefit. Katie dumps him earlier, gets a makeover, then Doug spends the most of the time fighting off the Katie's suitors/punks to protect her virginity, and at the end Richard (with confidence) appears out of no where on the plane seeming ready/determined to sleep with Katie in Paris. The sequel should have been: Doug sneaking on the plane in the air (like the way it was done in "Executive Decision") to pour cold water on Richard and stop the oncoming French Playas.
I may be a guy and not a dad since I am in my 20s, I do know that you can't force control even as little by little this leads to a parent breaking the trust of the child and the unnecessary scolding would encourage her to rebel if the father had put trust in her daughter while subtly keep a close eye on one of her suitors and stop trying to force control on life cause it can bite you in the end also he needs to look things at a woman's perspective to get a better understanding.
I feel like in the plane scene they could of been the first to start the "I need to Get on that plane!" Scene. Even before the 90s made it big starting in Kicking and Screaming 1995.
It’s one thing for Janet assisting Katie with a make-over, but to allow her to go out on a date without consulting with Doug first is crossing the line. Since they aren’t married, she doesn’t have parental authority.
Even though sexual repression can be wrong and a bad thing, the fact that the guy's daughter was only 15 there, that was understandable that he didn't want her getting sexual with any guys yet. However, if she were 20, it would be perfectly fine and acceptable for guys to get sexual with her, and that is often the case with many college girls between the ages of 18 to 23 in colleges and universities anyway.
@steve Kos actually and coincidentally the actress Amy Dolenz whom is the daughter of Monkee's actor Mickey Dolenz was actually about 20 when the movie was released in 1989 LOL!
This was always my favorite part of the movie.
I'd pretend to come down the stairs like that as a kid xD
Us too
i know my family was obsessed with those knee high stockings. We went thru multiple pairs

I had the hots for her when this came out. Especially because of this scene. Plus, I like the song.

Tony Danza is still the Boss.
JENDALL714 yes he is
he's strict, but fair
And loving and protective
Always has been always will be 😁
Actually, Abed analyzed that show and determined Angela was the boss.
80's teen movies were soo sweet. I can't complain her, at her age I was exactly like her. Poor daddy... and now he throws me back me everything.

Careful or she will just run off and marry the first guy that comes along to get away from you.
Preach!!
He sounds like me now. No guy takes my 15 year old daughter anywhere unless I know who they are, where they live, and who their parents are.
I'll be the same with my daughter when she's a teen!!
My son plans to be in the back seat keeping an eye on the guy!
Consider this: THIS was the movie that made Siskel and Ebert question their careers as movie critics (until they saw Say Anything)...
Two phone lines. Quite a status symbol back in the day.
Brah I feel for the dad, especially nowadays
Amy was my first crush. God damn she’s still smokin!

Yeah. At the beginning of the movie, she had a boyfriend.
Super scary stuff - unless Tony Danza's character is the DAD.
How long was that business trip 🤣
Classic!
At this moment he realized his daughter had grown up.
