Honestly, this is peak bad writing for Mortal Kombat’s story mode lol. With all the different characters we could’ve gotten as nonplayble villains, all we got were clones of existing characters, even for the final boss. Utter SHlT and not worth a penny. Maybe Kombat pack 3 and another story expansion with Onaga (or literally anyone else besides a stupid clone of somebody else) could be the last glimpse of hope to this dying franchise.

Instead, however, they've given us their version of the Avengers Multiversal Girl Power Hour, and it feels like they got it off Temu. Nothing particularly new, groundbreaking, or even noteworthy here, which is fine for MK I suppose, but this was laughably badly written/scripted. The NRS team has proven themselves damn capable. I wonder what led to them shitting the bed on this scale.
Ed Boon hates Bi Han so much, it's getting worse and worse, in this part every villain became good, and a character who was never really bad became the worst. He hates Sub Zero so much that he made the younger one a Scorpion because his favorite character was always a brainless and poorly written character.
I dont care about what happens to timeline clones introduced 5 seconds ago. Horrible writing decisions. Why cant they craft a story using the cast they already have?

It's somehow worse than base story mode. It's insane how bad a nosedive MK went through after MK11 and not just in the story but everything. Hate the half assed tag-team mode they enforced on everything in MK1, the content on offer is lackluster and uninteresting, story is just completely wasted potential (the animated movies we got are better tbh). A lot of aspects like multiplayer modes, reward systems are so far behind compared to other fighting games and mini-games and extra fun content is just utterly lacking compared to many previous MKs. And once again they are peddling MK1 is gonna be some long supported project, same shit we heard with MK11 and then it got dropped a lot earlier than devs wanted cause WB was not happy it wasn't printing enough money to fill their daily cocaine buckets and philipino hookers they buy and hire daily. Can we get actual other stuff from MK ? Another Shaolin Like Monk game successor ? Maybe even experiment with a new genera like mix in a full on RPG system into a Fighting game in which you explore the realms like we sorta had in MK Deception with Konquest mode? Can we finally get a goddamn remaster pack of MK 1-3 or even MK 4-9 , instead of every remaster project being canceled and dropped for no logical reason.
