When I was a kid, my Dad had a MF 1135 chopping w/ Hesston forage harvester, Gehl chopper boxes, we had a New Idea blower which we used our MF 265 on, we pulled the wagons back & forth with our Case 830 & rented our neighbors Oliver 1655. When I pulled in with one tractor & loaded wagon, I would leave with the other & empty wagon. My Mom did the chopping and my Dad did the unloading. I did the roading. No A/C or a roof, just the breeze & a hat.
My brother works on a cattle farm and they use three different Massey Ferguson tractors. I’ve had the pleasure of running one of them using a Sunflower soil finisher and I’d have to say they are very nice tractors to operate.
I remember when my dad worked on the farm in the 80s they had the pickup systems but the trailer had the unload system at the back. So when trucks came to the field he would pull under the shuttle system at the back and that's how they unloaded.
Can't believe so many tractors driving without a rollbar in a country where every single item has about 72 safety stickers on it. It's crazy. Very nice video though!
Great Video Mike Less, nice shiney Massey Ferguson Tractors ., it seems like a very well run and organised system, can you share how many cows they are milking, thanks for sharing
back in the 70s,80s and 90s we dairy farmed using a mf 2745,1155,1135,1085 and a 275 and still have 4 of them but dont use them much any more they just sit in the shed and look pretty.
I subscribed to they're channel as soon as I seen the beginning of your video and now watching the hole video mike you do some damn good work making videos man
High winds and half-dry hay is a bad combo. Windrows always get thrown off sideways and the only way to get it all is to slow down... raking it again would brake the leafs and everything would end-up as "stick silage" ;)
Nice video. Just think about how much labor, machinery and infrastructure that could be saved by having a milking robot on a semi-trailer together with power supply and milk tank, that you could take out to the pasture. The cows could then forage on their own and not live on concrete with poop on top. I think I would like the milk and beef coming from such a setup much more.
In the uk there is such a milking robot but there is too few places it could be used successfully in the states year round for it for ot to be marketed there
This is great work Mike. Are the young men you introduced us to operating the tractors and equipment? It would be nice to see them in action. They sure have a great looking farm. How much hay does each of the silos hold? What is their height?
Yes they were. One was running the mower and hauling wagons. The other was running the rake. I don’t think the youngest on was running anything in the video. I’m guessing those are 80 foot silo’s.
What is that tank on bar of the chopper for? Every time a have a question and get ready for making a comment you usually cut to closeup and answer it. This time looks like that tank is empty therefore no closeup. Thanks for sharing 👍. Happy subscriber 😊.
Hey mike I was just wondering if you know anything about why there Chanel was deleted. It still shows I’m subscribed but there is no videos there all gone
Is that an 8732 or an 8732S? I didn't see the S in the model designation on the side of the tractor, but am not sure if they actually put the S next to the model number or not. I love the looks of MF tractors.
That hitch system is the best thing since sliced bread was invented.
I grew up on Ferguson's,this video sure was candy for me...My kinda farm
Glad to see some one besides me running massey equipment.
You final got the best tractor on your you tube
Gotta love those Massey's :)

Nice video. Love the Sassy Masseys! Think they would like a NH FP240 over that Dion. We got an MF 8670 with a 240 and chop 32' at 6mph
Good video
Great video. You were right they love those Massey Ferguson tractors

Thanks man. Happy 4th of July
@@farmhandmike your welcome buddy
First tractor I ever drove was a TO30 Ferguson I was 10 years old in 1960.
Nice video Mike, interesting you call that hay - we call it silage in the UK. I think the harvester could have done with a higher gear or two!

Another great video Mike you've really come along ways from back in the days 🏴👍👍
Lots of practice filming and editing over the last 10 years. Hard to believe I’ve been doing videos that long
Need help Mike? I'd love to be out in nature like this
Nice video.

Mike ,what is your new gig ❓

Most likely that tank is to carry water. In certain conditions the water will prevent gumming in the blower area of the chopper.
Also for inoculant application directly in the harvester to improve fermentation in the silo.
Some dairies feed corn silage and this dairy feeds hay silage (haylage). Is there a difference, or just the dairy farmer's preference?
Most feed both
👍
mike i was wondering how long it was going to take before i saw this operation on your channel
Why did they remove all their videos?
I didn't know they did?
Hey mike I was just wondering if you know anything about why there Chanel was deleted. It still shows I’m subscribed but there is no videos there all gone
Okay no I don’t know. I was just messaging with them about chopping corn and if I’m there next week I’ll find out
I just noticed all the videos are taken down.
Is that an 8732 or an 8732S? I didn't see the S in the model designation on the side of the tractor, but am not sure if they actually put the S next to the model number or not. I love the looks of MF tractors.
None of these were the S series tractors.
Where has dairy bros channel gone fhm?
I like Mike less videos on TH-cam from the imperial co California.
