I love this video!! I love your channel! But mostly I love your lovely personality, wealth of practical knowledge and can do spirit. Thank you so much for your inspiration.🤎🤎🤎
I am seriously in awe and seriously impressed! Wow! That's one mahoosive piece of machinery! 😲 I'm loving watching your quilting stories ... and thankfully it's keeping me from tidying up my craft room because I have too much material all over the place lol!
Wow, Congratulations Karen on your new quilting machine. I'm very excited for you. I've been thinking about one for a few years, but haven't had the guts to make the leap. I think I'll learn vicariously through you for now. 😀😍
Wow! Congrats. That is so awesome. And I loved that you offloaded the machine and that you were instrumental in putting it together. Great role model. I wish you many happy hours of quilting.
What a treat to watch you unwrap your longarm! Reminded me of when I unboxed my Martelli cutting table in my new craft room and in my new house. It was like Christmas . . . only for quilters! If I was younger, had more space, maybe more money, I might have followed your lead, but I'm moving toward smaller quilts every day, so I'll just enjoy your pleasure in this new venture. Congratulations!!
Wow!! Father & son are almost identical 😵 just saw you vlog last night from a few months back where Cameron got the all clear, and I shed a tear of joy and relief for all of your family 🥰. Millie looks fabulous, happy quilting 🧵✂️💜
Congratulations! I have owned 3 APQS Longarm machines. They are the best. My Lucy is best ole girl you could ask for. The service team at APQS is absolutely awesome. Anytime I can’t figure out what or how something is happening I email them and they respond very quickly. I have been quilting since 1998 on my APQS Machine.
So happy and excited for you! What a neat purchase -- something you will get so much joy out of! Congrats! You were smiling thru the whole installation!! Lol
I just bought my own long arm this past October. I got the Bernina Q20 on a 9 foot frame since I had to take over part of our guest room to house it. Fortunately the shop set it up for me and gave me a tutorial on how to use it. I just finished my first small project on it. I’m in HEAVEN, it’s SO much easier than quilting on my B770 and so much faster! Yay!
What a wonderful machine and it's great you and your family got it set up with no squabbling. I love that you put the bow back on = it looks perfect there.
Thank you for actually following the Covid restrictions. They actually do help. I just started quilting this year and can’t wait until everything is open again and I can take some classes. My friend has a long arm machine. We babysit for her and she’s basically the only non family person we have over. She and I both work in healthcare so we are both extra cautious. I didn’t realize there were quilting conferences. Maybe by next year?
I took Tracey's Boot Camp a couple of years ago. She is my hero. Great teacher and support. I have been long arming for almost 3 years now and I love it. It just gets easier and easier.
Karen. I had so much fun watching this video. From truck unloading, to loading the long arm it was interesting and fun. Here it is Jan. 2021 and I am watching this video from June 2020. I am very impressed with your "can do" attitude and tool savy ways. I am a beginner and I am still quilting simple lines with my walking foot. This was fun.
Congratulations on your purchase of an APQS machine! I bought my Millie in 2006 and wonder now how I quilted without her. Tech support at APQS is awesome. Enjoy!!!
Hi Karen, I think you are so worthy of treating yourself a long arm! Congratulations and I look forward from Australia, watching you enjoying and playing on it. Take care and stay safe ❤️❤️
I dream receiving my long arm just the way you did, on a calm cloudy day and a little bit of rain, Really enjoyed seeing you getting your own. Things always happen for a reason and being that COVID was keeping everyone inside and separated. It brought you and your quilts together to complete them, now that was worth being quarantine 🤩 In His Grace Lorisa
Wow! Look at you slinging those big boxes... you are so strong!! Congratulations on your new long arm. I cheered with excitement watching your assembly. Good for you for treating yourself. You deserve it!!
Teehee!! Thanks for the laugh Emma. I only have made two quilts, and a couple more quilt tops, but boy, I sure would love to have a longarm machine too. Yet taking a class and renting time on someone else's machine is likely the smart next step, just as Karen mentions. After all, we don't buy ourselves a car until after years of being a passenger, then taking lessons, then passing a test, and then driving our parents' car for awhile, right? Only difference is, we don't have to assemble it after we buy it. ;-)
Tracy's Whirlnswirls were the first quilting videos I watched when I got my longarm and I was hooked through her 4 sets of 100 designs in a hundred days. My husband and I set up my longarm (not APQS) when we moved to Hawaii. The manual was exact and easy to follow; it looks like your yours was too. I thoroughly enjoyed your commentary and watching you assemble your Millie. Thank you for sharing!
CONGRATULATIONS on your long arm purchase. You certainly deserve it, and it was nice to see your husband and son. I also have rented time at Whirls and Swirls, and Tracey is a wonderful teacher. Thanks for all your wonderful videos.
I have always been curious as to how a long arm machine looks when it's being shipped and unpacked and assembled/installed. Thank you SO MUCH for sharing this with us! I love the giant bow too... it's amazing how such a small thing can just lift our moods, eh? Thanks for fast-forwarding, as we only needed to get the gist. You are lucky to have such talented helpers, but I am amazed at how quickly you got your Millie up and running. Congratulations Karen! ~Diana K., East York.
Haha - I did the same thing during my covid incarceration - bought a long arm. I had never used one before, though. It's not as easy as it looks, but I'm having a blast learning. I had to put it in the mechanical room in my basement. It's a little cramped, but it works. Thanks for this fun video.
I am so very happy for you it is so wonderful for you that you have done something for you. You are and fantastic woman cant wait to see all the beautiful quilts you create,
Wow so jelly watching this episode but to tell the truth I haven’t the room at present but I can dream and live vicariously through you have fun with Millie 🦋🌼💙
I am so glad you got your machine. You seem so happy! I have been looking at getting one also. I like the look of the Millie. I will have to check it out. Happy quilting!
Karen, this video was a delight. Loved the pace of the fast-forward for the put-together with your husband and son. You were such a sweet team. Although I just love your instructional vids pace and content, this was really entertaining and fun to watch. Your increasing skills in production as well as your excellent content are a benefit and joy to us all. Endless thanks for all of your guidance. Can't wait to see the Sugaridoo quilt done! And thanks for starting in the garage with the delivery. It added to the excitement and fun.
I'm so jealous! I'd have to buy a bigger house first before I could get a long-arm. But I can dream :-) Hope you have wonderful adventures with your new toy!!!
Fabulous for you Karen. Can see you spending many happy hours quilting. You looked so so happy unpacking and putting it together. I have a HQ Sweet Sixteen sit down long-arm and love it. The free motion quilting for me is the best part. Happy quilting Karen 👍
This video has me grinning from ear to ear...So Happy for you! and Love that we get to see Mr JGIDQ & Mr. JGIDQ Jr. live in action! Happy Day to you! The pure joy on your face at 5:36 is infectious!!!! Enjoy your new toy!
I have really been enjoying your site and videos!! I can’t believe that my 9 year old daughter and I set up my Millie together the night she arrived 15 years ago. I was a young single Mom of 4 with a lot of determination! They are great machines that just keep on going!!!
So glad you have a long arm I squeezed a babylock coronet with a five foot frame in my sewing loft Fought with large quilts for a few months the bought a 10 foot frame I don’t have quilt advance but it sounds wonderful Enjoy your new toy I have quilted about 40 in the last 3 years had about 35 complete before so UFOs have been dropping like flies and new ideas coming twofold to replace
I so totally enjoy living vicariously thru you! LOL! I have only come back to patchwork this year after a 40 year hiatus so being introduced to all the advancements in quilting has been a revelation. Thanks for all of the great info, inspiration, and encouragement I gain from watching your videos!
One day when I have the space, I would love to purchase a long arm quilter. Maybe when my son moves out. Presently my apartment is so small, that unless I slept in the living room, it literally can't happen here. I will keep my dream alive!
Seeing you quilt at the end of assembly made me cheer and look with awe at your free motion quilting ability. Many happy hours creating and finishing your quilts!
What a great experience for you, Wow. Would love to have a long arm as well, so that my quilts, small as they are, would look professionally quilted. Exciting.
Karen, I have been following your channel for a while now and wow, I was so excited to see the title of this video! I am a new APQS Freedom owner. I've had Freddie since August 2020 and I video taped the semi coming up the driveway (very long driveway, we had to meet the driver down by the highway as we live in a rural area) and the unloading into our house. Your video brought back all the excitement of my APQS delivery! I've just been beyond excited to own my own APQS...now I don't have to drive way out of town to rent one. Thanks for the info on Whirls and Swirls and I will check out those videos too, but I hope you'll be doing some longer videos too!!

During the summer I purchased a long-arm machine too. It is such a luxury but so nice to have access to whenever you’re ready to quilt. Have fun!
