im not condoning it, but it makes sense. you have to take into account their audience. unkochan's audience dont find him attractive or want to date him, they just find him entertaining. naturally, they wouldnt care too much if he had an affair. meanwhile, a vtuber's audience is mainly composed of horny fans who want to date her, so if they are revealed to have a partner, of course they would get mad. its unfair, but vtubers go into this business knowing their main appeal is their attractiveness (its why they have attractive avatars and also why they purposely hide the fact that they have a partner in the first place).

Women lose interest in men, men lose interest in women. It probably goes on like that every day until you haven't had sex in 3 months and when you do you have to go through this whole giant exhausting ritual like giving her a message ect ect. You realize your wife never greets you at the door anymore and isn't really happy to see you or your husband never buys you flowers, never takes you to dinner and also doesn't seem excited to see you.
A young attractive person who is genuinely interested in you and genuinly wants to have sex with you. Its got to be very tempting.

Some people just aren't built for monogamous relationships. Monogamy in itself isn't super natural for people either, if you think about all of human history people were relatively sexually open until the most recent 2000 years for a particular cross sized reason. But for the most part there are just some people that can love multiple people outside of their current relationship and don't know how to express that in our mostly monogamous society. I've ran into that issue a couple of times where I was in a monog relationship but would fall in love with other people, and they would fall in love with me during those times however I never cheated on anyone, but some could argue that the act of me feeling something for someone else could constitute to cheating. But I don't really think so, I never loved my partner any less in fact my affinity towards them would increase during those times because I would appreciate them even more since I could more easily see what made them special to me in my life. I think that people have a difficult time just admitting that monogamy isn't for them, but our society doesn't even tolerate the alternative idea in any capacity even if it would make someone more happy. Which leads to cheating, because the person desires a type of dynamic but isn't able to partake in it, so they just do it anyways because it's probably what feels most natural for them.

People are pointing out the double standard that exists for female stars in Japan; there's one thing they get wrong. Certain professions in Japan (Idols) have it in their contract that they're forbidden from dating as they're supposed to devote themselves to their fans. The talent company invests a ton of time and money into their idols and if they get caught, that investment vanishes. This is why only certain professions have that clause. Female actresses and pop stars are allowed to date, but Idols usually aren't as they're something totally different. The west doesn't have anything like it.

Its just reality man , the V-tuber/idol industry is all about lust and loneliness of men , who do you think are the biggest spenders on their streams , thats what they signed up for , ppl jaking off while hearing their voice XD , yea sure there are normal watchers and prob some girl watchers but im sure they do not trow even 10% as much money at her as the lonely guy watchers that think and realise (money trown at her = attention for a few seconds and take you and other shit) XD
So yes its just about who you're fans or target audience is , if your fans get mad with you its over but if they don't you are chill (only problem would be upsetting the platform you stream/work on)

For people wondering why guys can get away with cheating, but women can't even admit to having a boyfriend without losing their supporters.
The reason why is the difference in their fanbases.
Female stars (idols, Vtubers, etc) admitting they have a boyfriend will turn off male fans who want to fantasize about her. So, her getting a boyfriend breaks that fantasy, and the male fans feel "cheated". Because a lot of their brand is literally built upon taking advantage of the parasocial delusion of lonely men.
Male stars cheating doesn't create as big of a problem, because their male fans don't watch him for those reason (to fantasize about him) they just like the content, and his female fans are more likely to excuse it/blame the women, or even get hopeful it means they might have a chance with him.
This is why, when a popular male star/idol (don't remember if Korean or Japanese, but it's the same type of culture) was caught cheating with another woman, his fangirls go after the woman instead of him, while the actual cheater got more popular with the fangirls because they now started fantasizing about being the one to have an affair with him.
    It's pretty crazy stuff.
So, while I see the takeaway of this being "Wow, Japan is so messed up-" please remember that this is actually very normal all around the world, where it's typically the *women* who blame the other women, and excuse the actions of the man.

However, AV usually shot months in advance, even longer now with new law in effect. So this month's video is likely shot around 4-6 months ago or so, and we won't see the effect of this scandal until few months from now.

Even if it is normalized I’ve heard from victims of the cheating that they do in fact have been hurt.
I know there’s a view on “paying for prostitution is not cheating” because it is a “business relationship” however you can’t ignore the people in that country that have negative effects from it.
There are people who would like to have a complete exclusive relationship.
But you got people in that country that really try to justify being deceptive to another partner is OK which it’s clearly not and could take a toll on anyone mentally. I think Japan has a lot of degenerates that’s over consuming the media over there.
I feel bad for the people that had to take the back end of the impact that have been cheated on.
And knowing how Japan is notorious for having people not speak their true feelings, with Honne/ Tatamae and enduring (gaman) as well as believe to not be an inconvenience to anyone I could only imagine the effects on the victims that have been cheated on. It sucks
That part of their culture is just unethical. Point blank period. I know cheating happens all over the world
But the way how they approach it.
And try to justify being deceptive to others in situations like these. It’s like some high level emotional immaturity right there.
But coming from a country where it’s all about suppression of the basic human needs and not having no clear communication skills. It makes sense the inhabitants have such low emotional quotient.

Japanese are wild. I once dated a woman in japan, multiple dates and been to her place for multiple nights. After about a month i found out she was married and the husband worked in another prefecture.
I had love on my brain and thought it was a bad marriage and she said she made a mistake getting married at 19 (we were in mid 20's when we were dating)
About 2 weeks after finding out, i spent the night at her place and late at night i saw her phone and saw messages NOT from her husband. I looked and she was messaging MANY other men besides me. Which was wild because she would pay for all my food and bills, drive me around and when i got sick she took time off work to stay at my bed side. It was insanity and to this day i don't know what was going through her head.
But now 4 years later i look back and say it was a stupid time in my life. But the sex was 10/10. Nothing could ever beat her.
