    I think the issue of portability due to the charger is contextual. I live in South Africa and those chargers (and sockets) are common. However, I can understand how frustrating that must be for you.

    I prefer ROG but I need to get Intel because of Thunderbolt 4 port. Probably this TUF laptops is available to me for my budget 🙁
    Guess I have to wait for prices to drop.

      Yeah .. and in the future if you want to game at home on a nice screen... You can just hook up the thunderbolt 4 with like a 3090 TI ... It shouldn't bottleneck with the i7 12700 ... I see a lot of people still using 10th gen processor with a 3080 or a 3090 .... Surely the i7 12th gen should be good to run alongside those GPUs ... especially with upgraded ram ... That's why I want the Asus TUF ... And it also has a 90 watt hour battery. It's the perfect beast

    • @kreimer1417
      @kreimer1417 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@fightsandfinance7570 Thunderbolt 4 itself would be a bottleneck for anything like Rtx 3090/308 for that matter. You would be losing around 20-40% fps on average. Thunderbolt is excellent to have in any laptop, but do note tuf doesn't provide PD charging of any sort via thunderbolt (if that matters to you)
      Also down the line when you would want to get an egpu for more performance while gaming, the enclosure itself would be more costly than the gpu. The whole setup will seem wasteful at that point where your could invest in a desktop and have the tuf for gaming on the go....

    Thermals aren’t good when the GPU reaches 86c since that’s the thermal throttling point, at just 85W. Even Legion 5 w/ 130W 3060 never goes above 74c

    The RTX 3060 was advertise to be 140Watt TGP but on Cyberpunk 2077 Overlay, GPU utilization 98% with GPU power of 85Watt. Where does the 55Watt juice missing or its already hit the thermal throttle at 86watt? If that is the case, the cooling is not that great.

    • @in5anity-vii760
      @in5anity-vii760 2 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      it will never "thermal throttle" while climbing to a certain wattage instead what your seeing is the GPU getting too hot so its throttling its core clocks and overall power usage down, and because the core clocks are lower the power consumption will be lower, and that's why your only seeing 86W instead of 140W so yes its thermal throttling, also btw TUF gaming laptops have a bad record of terrible temperatures after all its considered a "budget" option and is only a good option for people on a budget needing solid GPU and CPU power when compared to ASUS's higher ROG series, if your looking to buy perhaps consider a lenovo legion 5 (2021) much better cooling and more premium features for the money G-Sync, FreeSync, MUX switch and even higher than 120Hz panels.

    I was thinking about getting the zephyrus rog g14 2022 edition, but this was the laptop I originally wanted. As a future college student, do you think it would be beneficial to go for the TUF over the zephyrus? The zephyrus is only 3.6 lbs, but I know it's more expensive so I told myself I would wait for a sale on it.
    Edit: after watching the video, I see that the battery will probably not be as good as the zephyrus and the qhd screen, which I wanted, will probably be pricier. I'm sticking with the zephyrus unless a good deal happens for the tuf

    Hello from America, never seen your videos before, but it was done very well, amazing. My only critique, or perhaps, topic that wasnt covered, was the noise, while gaming. I would just be curious to hear how loud it gets when the fans kick up, and perhaps, maybe what other profiles you could use while gaming, and how those would sound and at what cost to performance for less noise. Games like Elden Ring are stuttering in comparison to a legion 5 with almost the same hardware.
    And don’t buy the 144hz version, the display is too dim and the colour oh boy, the colours are bad.
