So if you were wondering how Ellie was able to get the military to help rescue Grant, Billy, and the Kirbys off the island at the end. Well, it is said that Ellie's new husband is an official for the State Department who was able to contact the military about the situation. So that's how they're connected.

I never realized that all these years. I always assumed that she was never able to contact anybody in time. And that the military showed up because somebody (most likely navy with a marine detachment) found Billy drifting half dead in the ocean. As soon as he was lucid enough he told them everything. But like I said that was just my headcanon.

This movie had a lot of production problems as Director Joe Johnston threw away the original script, calling it "a bad episode of Friends."
It was supposed to involve teenagers getting stranded on the island following a plane crash.
They encounter a hermit living in a treehouse who turns out to be Alan Grant having snuck onto the island to study the dinosaurs in their natural habitat. The idea of teens getting stuck on the island was the basis for JURASSIC WORLD Camp Cretaceous

I know I’m late to the party, but there is a theory as to why the spinosaurus was after them.
Theory goes, Cooper stumbled upon a baby Spinosaurus and the mother. Shot and killed them, and then the father showed up. That’s why the spinosaurus is after them. I mean it is a dinosaur, so it kind of doesn’t make sense, but at the same time makes sense. And yes, the spinosaurus are known for being aquatic dinosaurs! I just wish they would’ve brought back the spinosaurus for a fight with the indomonous Rex or something. Although in Jurassic World, the T-Rex breaks through a thing of bones representing a spinosaurus. Probably a “fuck you” to the T-Rex losing in Jurassic Park 3! Hope this sort of helps😂

What I love about the Jurassic series is that they're adventure films at their heart. Good action, fantastic effects and set pieces not to mention the music. They've entertained me and my family; my mom and dad were fans, dad moreso, they both passed recently so it's just me and brother who watched Dominion, I bought four tickets anyway.
I'm well aware of the criticism the sequels get, and I get that some people have their own criteria and expectations , but sometimes I just don't get the anger and hatred they elicit, maybe it comes from whatever connection that person has to the original and they feel the sequels betray that somehow or something. But I love the series and I still find great enjoyment in it.

Considering how bad production was for this film, it's honestly a miracle they salvaged this much from it so well. Joe Johnston's actually a very talented director, with films like Jumanji and Honey I Shrunk The Kids, I think they did the best they could with the material they had. And they made a passable sequel.

They added head quills to the male raptors in this movie, because since the time the first movie was made and the time this movie was being made there were discoveries that showed that those kinds of dinosaurs likely had some kind of feathers.

Plus it mends a cool scientific premise and big moral questions with giant creatures and that overwhelming force that turns into horror. The first book and movie are honestly extremely good. The rest is, well… they made a lot of money.

To answer your question , for me personally its very iconic in a way with the sound track the authentic dinosaurs and the characters. Just like the Mummy movies and they're like a part of my childhood that I have great memories of. Its like hearing that theme music when your about to watch a Disney movie it starts off as Captain Jack Sparrow saying "We have our heading", Petter Pan "Here we go" and the narrator "From the magic within our hearts" it's like that. It brings back childhood memories.

This was always one of my favorite JP movies, if not my favorite. Mostly because the spinosaurus was a much cooler addition to the series and seemed like a horror slasher in this movie. Unfortunately a lot of great content was cut out of this movie due to the rewrites, so we lost a lot of exposition that would've explained the new dinosaurs and the different looking dinosaurs. We wouldn't see anything similar until over a decade later in Jurassic World when that give a very forced exposition dump to explain their gene splicing. As for JP3 the spinosaurus was supposed to have an explanation for its hyper aggression. That and the injury it sustained from the plane impacting its sail, the spino really wanted revenge on the humans.

The whole Dream Sequence with the talking velociraptor was foreshadowed by Alan trying to have the parrot say his name..... and.... he instead got a raptor to say his name.
But I think it would have made more sense if it was the Jurassic Park Velociraptor instead of the JPIII, since it was the only velociraptor variant he saw until he went to Sorna.

You made me think of one of my favorite scenes from one of my favorite guilty pleasure films Land of the Lost (2009) directed by Brad Silberling and starring Will Farrell. There's this scene where Will Farrell explains to the other characters that they'll need to disguise their scent with hadrosaur urine, and one of the other characters played by Danny McBride reasonably fixates, questions, and brings attention to the fact that Farrell went through the trouble of collecting dino pee. Really stupid scene, but the actors really sell the humor so well.

Here's the thing. All this movie is, is just a search and rescue mission to find a divorced couple's son. If you take them out, you could literally call the movie pretty much anything else!

I didn't see the first film in a theater. I wish I had. But The Lost World was a fun time at the movies. JP III was a too, felt a little flat. It didn't have that Spielberg touch so it felt more like a generic straight to video sequel, or a si-fi channel movie that got a theatrical release.

I saw it in a theater and wished I hadn't. A friend and I went to see it and were totally disappointed, as were others in the theater. Not too many however because unlike the first two Jurassic Park movies, the theater was pretty well empty.

Speaking on the OG trilogy, I thought the 2nd one was the worst. That's the one I never want to rewatch. I liked this one when I saw it in theaters. I never got the hate. It had a lot of good action scenes. And I will watch it before ANY of the Jurassic World film.

I actually think 3 is better than Lost World. That one was so long, it was a slog to get through, and lacked the magic of the first one. This one at least didn't waste any time, and is much more enjoyable for me to watch.

A lot of people give this movie a lot of crap, and there are definitely parts that I would say are "weird". But the one reason I love this movie is the Spinosaurus, so terrifying, and it's superiority on both land and water is what truly gave me the chills.

24:10 thats because there arms dont do anything a spino there not arms there front legs
26:30 there not dumb they called for help so the raptors listened and they heard a chopper so they got outta there before back up showed up

  • @blazedj

The first movie is a classic, but I honestly think that I prefer this one to the second movie. The reason being that, while the second movie had plenty of fodder to just be killed in various ways, with animals/monsters like these, there are only so many ways in which characters can be killed off. The best part of slasher films is probably all the creative ways characters die.
Also, a video I saw that speculated that the Spinosaurus was out for revenge for them clipping its spine/sail/whatever with the plane in their first encounter. Then, there’s the possibility that it might’ve been one of the earlier Super Dinosaurs that was created.

I forget where it was established but Ben was apparently killed by raptors. Makes sense considering how close they were to the nesting area. Must’ve popped up right after they shut off the camera like “Hey! This is private territory! Get the fuck off our lawn!”
The hairs on the male raptors is meant to show them developing closer to how they really were, feathered.
Oh my god FINALLY someone understood it didn’t eat them
Before Jurassic World came out, the website revealed that the team lead by Vincent D’nofrio’s character was hired to “deal with” the pteranadons that got off the island

interesting factoid that the actor who played Eric once played in the movie Barney's Big Adventure. so this was his second dog $#!+ film involving Dinosaurs.
also some Paleontologists believed that the Spinosaurs was supposed to have the title for T-Rex had it been discovered earlier. So the T-Rex could've been named something different.

  • @blinkachu5275
    @blinkachu5275 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Outside of the bad writing and the bad acting... I honestly think the dinosaurs are also its weakest part. The animatronic dinosaurs LOOK like animatronics in how they move. You never had that in the first 2 movies. In this one they're sooo stiff, almost no movement to them. The CGI also looks worse, but that's likely due to a lot of it being in daytime, so it's likely not that it looks worse, just that its less hidden.
My absolute least favorite Jurassic Park movie, and it's tied for worst if I also include the Jurassic World movies with Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom.
    For me my favorites are:
    1) Jurassic Park
    2) Jurassic World
    3) The Lost World
I hope Dominion will be decent but I don't have high hopes after Fallen Kingdom

I saw the second one in theaters when I was 7 but ran out 10 minutes because I got scared lol then I saw this one in theaters when I was 11 and wasn’t scared. What I enjoy is the fact that these movies INITIALLY portrayed the dinosaurs in a naturalistic way, as real animals, and not just movie monsters. Dinosaurs were one of my favorite subjects back when I was a kid and still I possess a great fondness for them today in my 25 years of age. There's just something so appealing to me about them. Maybe its just having giant extinct lizards running aroun.d😅😂
