So inspiring. It’s beautiful. I thoroughly enjoyed starting my weekends with your Japanese shed videos. I’m glad you didn’t do your whole video in that sped up timelapse style. Nice job, very sweet. A couple of weeks ago, I also finished a big project (never done) I celebrated with you. I know how it feels. So fortunate you work as a team. Im doing mine alone. I love watching you working together & how well researched everything is. Impressive. Thank you☺️
Thank you so much! We’re really happy to be finished with this build - definitely more projects to come. The projects are definitely never really done. 🙂 Also, thanks - we enjoy our life together and both are very grateful for what we have. Hopefully this comes through in the videos. 😅
When two are both walking in the right direction together, nothing is impossible! As much as I loved this project (Beautiful design by the way), I loved the teamwork & determination even more. You danced while working!
Thank you!! Ha, we did look into it - we do think it would qualify as a ‘Kura’ in Japan … which is a super fancy storage shed for valuables. It’s very regional there, but still pretty neat! Ha, and true, if we put up some insulation & drywall and we’d have a tiny house / cabin! 🤣
Thanks!! I’m not sure we have the tools or are precise enough for that, but it certainly would be fun! We might make a koshikake at some point around where we’ll have our fire pit area. If we do this, it would be fun to try Japanese techniques! 🏯
Awesome work - I think my favorite part is the door. So clean yet bold. Do you plan to run power out there? That's a question I've had with my shed. It seems like you have so much room for activities! Also, do you plan to hide the foundation blocks with any trim or landscaping? So cool to be along for the whole ride!
Thank you! No plans to run power - if we did that, it would be against code … and we have upcoming projects where we want permits, so we’ll need to be in compliance. 🙂 For now, it’s purely a shed for storage - which is what we need. We needed the space to be able to do more woodworking/projects in our garage. 😁 For the landscaping - we plan on putting plants along the base. It’s fairly shaded, so we have to go with plants that can tolerate the shade. We’re considering hostas, ferns, & azaleas. It’s really going to come down to what we find on sale. 😅
Wow! the details are incredible, you guys do fantastic work, well planed out!!! In your price breakdown I mentioned around 30k, this would be much higher due to the details; you can't get that sort of commitment these days with out doing it your self. Also the videos are priceless to boot, something you will always have to look back on. Thanks for sharing.

Fantastic Timelapse! I’m not even sure that still counts as a shed - closer to a tiny house - way to go! 🎉
Ha, it's not too far away - thanks for watching!
Awesome seeing it all in one video like that. Shed seems a bit of an understatment though, it's pretty much a traditional Japanese house! :)
😂

Nice work!

American framing with Japanese style, cool. You should try another shed with proper Japanese woodworking techniques!
