Mercenary phase got to be one of my favorite stages in the game for those reasons. It is also worth to mention that the more desperate the situation a kingdom is in the more they will pay. So it fortunes the player to choose to become mercenary for a kingdom that is weakened and preffereable fighting against more than one enemy faction. Factors such as the amount of fiefs, wars, clans etc all play a role when your payment is calgulated, if a kingdom feels super strong, they may even deny you to become their mercenary. Your payment as a mercenary is not a fixed deal either. If you were initially offered 150 to fight for a kingdom, then if that kingdom ends up declaring, or being declared war on against more faction than they initially fought when you signed the mercenary contract, then your mercenary pay will rise, and vice versa if they declare peace, then they will pay you less. I have been paid more than 900 denars per 1 influence due to the desperate situation of a kingdom was in, so not only is mercenary a great stage of income to be in when its mid game, but also in late game aswell, when lets say one of the faction is on its last toes and is about to become destroyed. So it also pays off changing which faction you fight for at the time, depending on war / peace time, instead of fighting only for the same faction. I do like this aspect alot, as it gives room for the player to do more adventuring around the map when fighting for other kingdoms, this in turn also allows for you to get relation with even more nobles from everyfaction ( that is if you can help yourself from not raiding villages and caravans that is), Getting good relation with as many as possible will aid you even further in the long game, if you do you aim for the late game campaign, going on for generations, as you then can secure some good deals when your children and grand children comes of age. Being mercenary in bannerlord is awesome. Great video
I'm guilty I never gave mercenaries contracts a thought, I've just started a new playthrough with strugia only, I'm defo going to be doing this 👌

Great one again
I'm over 1000 days in, tier 6 clan and I'm still a mercenary.
About to sacrifice a castle for the eng skill gain
Do you play this in sandbox mode or campaign mode? And what's the reason behind your choice. Just curious
Honestly due to the AI defaulting to f1 f3 I entirely avoid big battles, I focus on raiding villages and caravans. And picking off weakend lords.
