Saturn in 4th House, or Cancer: The Struggle with Self Acceptance.

When natal Saturn finds itself in the 4th house, the problem can be summed up by saying that the native lacks the ability to familiarize in ways that assuage feelings associated with over exposure and vulnerability. As a result, the native lacks access to that aspect of self knowledge which enables the conviction of safety, peace and protection, which are essential ingredients for the healthy functioning and expression of the ego. The result is internal conflict, as the self is dualized within, and the dualities posture in accusatory roles against each other.
Invariably, this deep symbolism begins to manifest as insecurities perceived within and without. The result is a personality which experiences a deep sense of aloneness, shyness, guilt and possibly shame. A personality unable to access the potential for tremendous joy, which appears blocked.
The solution is a reconciliation, facilitated by addressing deep seated safety concerns, so that the native translates this need for self acceptance into an external process which is capable of acquiring social acceptance through the creation of a figurative lightening rod. This process then heals the 4th house, and is usually the reason why Saturn has come to sit natally in the 4th house of the native.
