Oh, that's too bad. I hope you can figure out what happened. (I just saw a dragonfly nymph in a little tank I set up for shrimp. I don't know how I'm gonna get it out! )
Definitely something from outside like weed spray like you said. What about the sand, was it from a previous set up or new? Maybe something in the sand if it's not from a previous system?
The sand was ok. It come from a creek bed ages ago and I've used it on heaps of setups then on top of that is placed in which I rinsed and then on top of that was pool sand so it should not have been sand
@@1963patto didn't know had an expiry. Up now doing water changes on my Goldfish. Still can't get my Ammonia down, I'm never relying on just sponge filters ever again ! 🙄
Well how about oxygen levels nitrite could have sucked the life out of them, or temperature :( since they all died likely same issue for both, maybe an airstone required,
😢❤ hope it gets sorted for ya. That can be a frustrating experience. Love the setup, though!

I'm pretty sure I know what happened now. The stress code I use was out of date

That's really odd. What a pain. What's in the substrate?
Dried out creek sand which I've used on many of my tanks and tubs. Play sand which I washed out and silicon sand as in pool sand
@@1963patto that's odd. Maybe the change of water PMs even though they were good killed them?
@@justinstuart8382 yes you never know. Bit of a mystery but the only thing I could find was my stress coat was out of date

did the temp go down too low overnight?
No temps for fine overnight. I believe it was the stress coat that I used was no good
