- Banga -Salidsid dance displays the Igorot women on their way to the river to fetch the daily water supply for their family's. It shows the skill and strength of the women as they would carry heavy laden clay pots (Banga) full of water. Their grace and agility while balancing the heavy pots, sometimes stacks 5 high, is a testament of the Filipino and how hardships become a art form and talent. As a young girl you would start with only one pot. Pots could be stacked as high as 5 or 6. The more pots you could carry showed your skill and also you standing among the women of that area. They would all gather and march to the river each day, singing a native song which is represented by the flute and banging of bamboo on iron pots in the dance.
The Banga dance is performed during feasts as away to entertain guests. In Philippines, Banga is an earthen pot called “Banga” which are stacked and carried on the heads of the females while dancing.

Philippine Traditional Cultural heritage is the only wealth that never been destroyed and ruined by colonizer and invader. It;s so unique. Congratulations folks for the dance has done excellently. (y)
The flesh toned tops with the tattoo prints were a nice touch.
TheSilence1 The real natives from the region in the Philippines does just wear tattoos on top
@@babesmorgan3375 they actually tattooed themselves back then tho and each of them has a meaning... Tattooed males are warriors while the women is for beauty... This igorot culture was passed down for centuries but its endangered today... The only last tattoo maker or mambabatok for the Kalinga is apo Whang-od... She passed it to her grandchildrens just in case she'll pass away...
This video makes me a proud Kalinga woaman .... Thanks for the upload Sir

Hi, do you know the name of this dance? Is it Kinakulangan?
no this is not Kinakulangan. Kinakulangan is a Maranao dance. This is Banga - Salidsid from Kalinga
Lovely content! Keep it up!
nice
AMAZING!!!!!! I was nervous watching her with all those pots on her head haha
Same
This is a tribal dance from the North, Benguet, Philippines.
Mauli Ako, Did I title it right?
LINUPHYSIO'S WORLD OF AMAZING VIDEOS
To be honest I'm not sure. That's the Igorot dance in the North. More fancy and girls beautiful but Google the real dance of the locals.
I grew up in the middle island. We have different cultural dances called Ati atihan more historical and colorful. Kindly Google it, it tells the story about how the native Aetas (aborigines) sold our island to the 3Datus (kings) from South Borneo in exchange of the golden sadok or hat. They divided the island into 3 and leave peacefully and we are their generations.
Mauli Ako It's Kalinga, not Benguet
This is not a dance from Benguet nor is it the correct depiction of a dance from the Kalinga Province.
Wow! Nice one
The tapiz of the 1st banga dancer or the one who holds the base banga is "baliktak".
love it!im a filipino ini an banga folk dance

is there a modernized backstory of this? i badly need it
Me and my teammates has to do this and the girl that has to balance all the bangas will be hard Oof

The weaving worn is misleading, . . . Its Ibaloi but the dance is Kalinga right?, . . . The kind of weaving worn by Kalinga's is different right ?, . . .
No they're just the same... CAR provinces like Benguet, Mt. Province, Abra, Apayao, Kalinga, and Ifugao have the same costume... The woven cloth is called Wanes
My brain: ima try this
My head strength: how do you expect me to carry *6 heavy clay pots* ...
Their plastics
"Omg this tiktok dance is so hard!"

Hello, can I have the music? Huhu
What music did you used?
They only used gongs or what we call gangsa... No drums, no string instruments, no flute... They only used gongs with different pitch for the dance
Seperti dayak
Xxx
Practically nobody does this in the Philippines. Traditional dances in the Philippines are La Cariñosa, La Jota Moncadeña, Luz Fandango.
My classmates danced this every Buwan ng Wika every year
Taga Benguet yan siguro taga manila ka
Lol
Lmao did u even know there are 134 ethnic groups in Philippines that they preserved their culture and some of them didn't colonized 🤣this is Kalinga who still practice traditional tattoo
There are different types of tribes like maranao, badjao, igorot, t-boli, etc. Di lng po katagalugan ang meron po na sala o sayaw😄😄
It is hard to keep balance with that pots but i have a video that I'd like to recommend to you that can skillfully balance a lot of pots!
