  • The Robonauts Everybot, costing less than $1000, is an affordable, competitive, and elegant robot that can be built with only basic tools and items found in either the kit of parts, purchased from your local hardware store, or an online retailer such as AndyMark, VEXpro, REV Robotics, The Thrifty Bot, or McMaster-Carr. We hope to help students and teams find their stride in FRC regardless of their circumstances or practical limitations. In the 2020-2021 season, over a hundred teams built off of the Robonauts Everybot concept, and we are excited for what the 2022 season holds.
    Everybot’s mission is to improve FRC students’ experience by enabling any team to field an inexpensive robot capable of competing in local finals and championship-level tournament matches.
    In our analysis of RAPID REACT, we’ve found that a short list of robot capabilities accomplishes these goals. We stuck to the most valuable and basic scoring tasks.
    The 2022 Robonauts Everybot:
    Scores 1 pre-loaded Cargo in the Lower Hub
    Taxis from the Tarmac
    Picks up Cargo from the floor
    Holds two Cargo
    Scores Cargo in the Lower Hub
    Hangs on the Mid Rung
    Hangs on the Low Rung
    Plays defense while holding two of the opponents’ Cargo

    That is an incredibly simple yet super effective design! Great work being able to passive climb on two different rungs!! I believe this design will really allow lower resource teams to take full advantage of every game aspect!! Great job as always 118!! Looking forward to more videos and the final robot reveal!!!

    thats a clever climber, especially with the lack of climbers this year

      Wdum “lack of climbers?” Are people not choosing to climb?

    This is what I love. Simple design but does the job as good as very complex and expensive ones. Real engineering!

    I am blown away by the incredible simplicity and effectiveness of all of these designs. the intake is just as effective as any other simple intake could possibly be and dont even get me started on the climber

    Congratulations to the Everybot Team! That's a great combination of capabilities and it looks easy to replicate. The design is especially clever.

    Nice job, we used everybot last season but covid shut us down before we got to play at Orlando. Genius latching on 2nd bar with an almos passive latch.
    BTW nice touch making the length of the video 118.

    I love the climber! And the ball mechanism is pretty close to what my team is planning on doing, even down to using a four bar mechanism

    Another amazing robot again by you guys but can we gain the 6 points from the mid rung by only touching the low rung at 0:06?

    • @ethanreed4517
      @ethanreed4517  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      It can hang on either the mid rung for 6 points or the low rung for 4 points. It depends on which direction you drive into the low rung. One direction deploys the hooks for the mid rung and the other simply passively hangs on the low rung

    For how little you spent and how simple this robot is, you guys did a good job and it was fun competing against you at Humber college.

    Wait so how does it climb to the mid rung, I’m a little confused, wouldn’t the robot touching the floor?

    • @ethanreed4517
      @ethanreed4517  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      It ramps up the rung until the it seats in the valley of the hook, then when you drive just slightly in the other direction, the wheels lift off the ground. The opening shot of the video shows the resulting swinging action.

    I would have to say 25% of all bots are everybody’s this year.
