- In this week’s episode, I was joined by a woman I just met 7 years ago…my sister Akeelah. Throughout our discussion, we chatted about familial troubles, the story of how my estranged uncle told me that I was adopted, and the effects that my adoption has had on our entire family. As we dive deeper into each topic, I was able to shed light on my journey in finding my birth family and touch on how similar we are even though we grew up in different households.
Tune in and see how our crazy yet beautiful family tree has allowed us to form an amazing and loving bond that can’t be broken.

Hailey talks so much like Akeelah. This has been one of my favorite episodes thus far. ❤
Andre looks like your sister. But “we’re ninjas” was the cutest and funniest thing ever 😂😂😂
What does that mean?
This sister bond is everything! ❤
I bet it was such a relief for Ariel to know she isn't just weird and that her traits actually come from somewhere.
I’ve been wondering how your relationship with the brothers is since the wedding. Hopefully one day yourself, the parents and brothers can have a sit down. You are 100% valid in your feelings and reaction. Their son is missing out on a great aunt, and your kids are missing out on a cousin and uncles. Having a village is important.
I'm hoping you can have your birth mom and sister together at the same time for a story time
Man I have so many questions..... Did your "house hold" parents apologize to you? How did they feel that you decided to have a relationship with your birth mom? Did your Nanna apologize to you and your birth mom? Where is your biological dad? Do you feel like you belong since meeting your biological family? Like do you feel that void had been filled? I pray for do much healing for all parties and nothing less than healthy relationships going forward! 🥰 Thank you for sharing your story!
Wow, I am so glad you found your biological tribe. I agree with your take on the wedding and your decision after. ☮️❤
Great episode Ariel, I think it would be great to have all your bio siblings on with your oldest kids
This episode made me feel so seen! I am adopted and I struggle with it on so many levels! Thank you for sharing your story!
I really wish i could find my brother from my father. I cant ask any questions because our father died. The only memory of him i have is his 1st or 2nd bday. Im was like 19-20 yrs ( i think) i will be 50years old on Christmas 😢
It’s sad in the black community we don’t just apologize and change behavior that led to the fall out. No let’s be disrespectful and then come back with some dumb stuff like oh is the fridge still in the house smh funny but true
Is the fridge still in the house 😭😂. No but this is 1000% true ‼️‼️‼️
The fact that he let his new wife's family disrespect his parents is wild
What was done to you at the wedding was so wrong and completely unnecessary. It’s obvious that was fueled by nothing but hate and it’s so messed up that people we love do things like this and we just have to deal with it
I never understood what really happened. I remember her on IG talking about it and I was like wait what!!! I remember they drove all the way there and then stopped from going and being in the wedding. And now they aren’t talking and she has t been able to meet her Neice/nephew. It hurt my heart when she said that
More Akeelah!! Her voice was so smooth and calming lol
As an Aquarius ♒️ I cried throughout this episode ❤️
Thank you for your transparency! You are helping so many people!✨💕
Great podcast, with great topics!
I just love yall story everything literary worked out perfect
This was beautiful. Beautiful sisters.
Wooowwww! We’re ninjas 😂😂😂
Great Episode. Keep up the great work.
19:00 So Sweet❤❤❤❤❤

I didn't kno I had a sister til last yr of May , i found my older sis , I'm now 33
I'm lookin for my 2nd biological sister
Great Podcast 😍
Both of you are beautiful 🤎🤎
This the story I been wating for now I have questions
I nervous poop too it’s a real thing lol
Where can we find the original adoption story?
Heyyyyy my name is Akela also❤❤❤❤❤❤
Arielle has biological brothers that the kids can bond with. The adoptive ones don't have the same traits. Traits are genetics.
Between the house situation with your parents and this story about your brothers, it looks like you are the only decent person in your adopted family 🤦🏽♀️
#team Aquarius all day. We'll cry at the drop of a hat, BUT WE ARE TOUGH
Do you.still consider your adoptive mom your mom or do you consider your biological mom your mom?
Do you resent your adoptive parents for not telling you?
That's a silly question. A mother is the person who nurtures, love, changes diaper and is there for all the sickness and wellness.
Did her biological mom do that? No.. Her mom is the one who adopted her.
@eileenwatt8283 and I guess you are just a silly person for that statement.
Waiiittt 😂 😂 I’m crying at the eyes only
Comment 😶
😂
Oh hell no, they did you dirty at the wedding. I’m pissed for you !!!
It was meant for you to find your biological family
❤
You are wrong about hand foot and mouth anyone can catch hand foot and mouth not just babies it’s just most common in children under 5 because of the daycare setting My daughter caught it and so did I at 30. It can spread just the same with adults if caught so I don’t think your brother was wrong to exclude you from the wedding because who wants hand foot and mouth on their honey moon
this is true mom dads grown uos can catch it. but brother is still wrong.
@@nobodynoone9838 yeah he went a little bit extreme but still I wouldn’t want anyone with anything contagious at my event on my day the wedding was for the married couple it was their day
True but she said she'll stay just let mom and dad go but since they all rode together the brother said no....now that's over the top on such a important day smh
@@aiesha726 yeah because everyone in the car was in contact with the person with the contagious rash
@iMacNoMakeup I guess but family is family I couldn't do my family like that on any day wedding graduation...we just gonna pray we don't catch nothing
It seems like her parents are facilitating that divide and they feed her brothers pettiness
