One thing that you should have noted in the video but didn't is that despite the boxy styling there are subtle curves and changes to the body frame as well as active air panels in the front so overall the vehicle gets a .29 drag coefficient which is on par with a Gen 5 Corvette. Pretty incredible if you ask me

That rear end is terrible. I am glad someone would want to buy an unreliable car that they feel is attractive. The more of these vehicles people buy, the more inventory of others there shall be.
I don't understand why car manufacturers favor easy physical controls for temp settings instead of the fan. I mean, for the most part in the winter i have the temp on high, in the summer on low...makes sense right...but what I do adjust is the fan speed, which would be great to have a physical button for instead of some screen you tap, which btw appears not to be covered by the "bumper to bumper" warranty, only by 3/36 (at least with kia, pretty safe to assume hyundai is the same)
Thank you guys! I’m really interested in this SUV in the hybrid but my question is the following. I usually keep my cars for 7-8 years and I hear that the hybrid might cost me in the long run because of its higher maintenance. Do you find this to be true? Or more of a myth?
Well the biggest manufacturer of hybrids has been and continues to be Toyota. They don't have any kind of special maintenance at all in the 7-8 year window and Toyota actually backs the battery for 150,000 miles. Other brands are newer to the hybrid game but you shouldn't run into any hybrid-specific issues in the first 10 years from what we hear.
Absolutely loving the sound of the new 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe! It's fantastic to see how they've leveled up with a bigger and boxier design, plus the addition of a 3rd row is such a game-changer! Really shows the continuous evolution in car design. Can't wait to see more about this - definitely a must-watch for car enthusiasts! Keep up the great work with these updates! 🚗✨

I know it is good because it is port and dual injection, and has been in the sonata, a few Genesis, Santa Cruz, and the previous Santa Fe. I’d pick this over a Palisade currently until the palisade is updated.
I am in love with the new Santa Fe. I was torn about the rear end at first. But I understand the assignment it's giving. Lowering the taillights really maximizes the cargo wide opening. I'm not mad at it. It would look cool to add a rear tire on the tailgate to help break up the space between the lights and window seal area, like a G-Wagon. Which also has lower taillights and is the vehicle of high-class society. But doing that wouldn't be functional, which means the tailgate will have to swing out instead of powering up and down from the hatch. Hyundai could have made the taillights vertical, but people will complain how much it will look like an Escalade. Damned if you do, damned if you don't. But I will say this, I very much commend Hyundai for giving us unique designs and stepping outside of the box (no pun intended), giving us the best technology and features for the money. Thank you, Hyundai, for not making your vehicles copy and paste the same design language like Honda. I believe that this Santa Fe is going to be a big hit, especially in urban communities. For those who want a Land Rover look but don't want the maintenance, sign me up with a white Calligraphy trim with all blacked-out tinted windows with beige or brown interior!

I hate that all of the reviewers keep saying the Santa Fe never had a 3rd row until now. I own a 2017 Santa Fe and it has a 3rd Row just like a Kia Sorento. I believe they had 3 row Santa Fe’s until 2018. If you go measurement for measurement, the 3 row Santa Fe from 2017 is about the size of the Palisade and Telluride (which is why, if only for size purposes, I can’t justify buying one. )
Pricing is actually great for how big and practical it is. The main competitor, the Highlander is extremely outdated, smaller and more expensive. This will sell extremely well. I would love to see you test the Calligraphy since it is always so luxurious.
@@ishaansaral502 You don't think the amount of sales a car makes affects the buyers? I find it interesting that the smallish, EXTREMELY outdated and more expensive highlander will outsell the Santa Fe. I disagree with "extremely" outdated though as the highlander in hybrid form gets the very best gas mileage out of any midsized suv. It might be a little outdated as almost all toyota models are. But, the new Santa Fe will no doubt have a decent share in the market of smaller 3 row SUVs. It will also come as a hybrid, is way ahead in tech, features and luxury. Its 3rd row is also usable unlike the Highlander's, which makes it a much better choice. The Grand Highlander is much newer, so no surprise it is selling well. It's also got a usable 3rd row and newer, nicer cabin. The Highlander should never have been 3 rows since it is too small.
"perceived" reliability has been objective reality for years. People buy Toyotas because they are rock solid vehicles. People want to get from A-B with as little chance of trouble as possible. I didnt even know it was going on sale this month. I wanna know where Hyundai cost cuts at. Theres no way you could have that many features on that calligraphy and it being a 48-50k vehicle. Those were only Hyundai and Kia models that had keyed ignition. All of these are push button start. My 2011 Hyundai sonata limited 2.0 turbo came with a push button start so it isn't easy to steal like the Kia boys do.
Great review as usual guys. Regarding that handle on the exterior to help you get up to the roof rails, I can see people burning their hand if that side of the car has been in the sun. Or maybe that part is plastic? Curious if you noticed.
This has to be THE most radical redesign of a vehicle of 2024. It’s unrecognizable in my eyes as a Santa fe. I even said this was the closest you guys would get to getting your hands on a Land Rover. Everything about it is land rover inspired. Even from the little details. This Hyundais version of the defender. The back of it is where I see older Range Rover styling, but the exterior itself is just controversial as a whole. It doesn’t matter which angle you look at it from. Not even surprising coming from Hyundai. My uncle just bought a 2023 l santa fe and looking at that compared to this has me curious on who, what and why made them try this out and somehow it works.!
You should start adding license plate lights to your reviews. Telluride goes the same route with non led reverse and license plate lights, unfortunately.

19:07 Santa Fe never had third seat row in the U.S. before? Weird, in Latin America, the majority of Santa Fe had Third row readily available.
In the previous generation is what he meant to say.
Hyundai did a good job with the new Santa fe. I'mma lease thjis bad boy till the facelift comes out.
if the back is flat like on the 4 runner, why not make the back window roll down??
Are these still uninsurable and easy to steal? Also is there a spare tire?
Those were only Hyundai and Kia models that had keyed ignition. All of these are push button start. My 2011 Hyundai sonata limited 2.0 turbo came with a push button start so it isn't easy to steal like the Kia boys do.
I think it's time to update your trolling material.
@@maga4813 it’s a genuine question stop being butthurt. Just look up Kia Boys you boomer
Great review as usual guys. Regarding that handle on the exterior to help you get up to the roof rails, I can see people burning their hand if that side of the car has been in the sun. Or maybe that part is plastic? Curious if you noticed.
Thanks! It's black plastic so it would likely get pretty hot in the direct summer sun
I said it about 8 years ago "hyundai & kia are going be knocking on mercedes & bmw door" in terms of "bank for buck". They showed up early 👏🏾
Can you do the comparison for grand highlander vs santafe 2024 and palisade vs santa fe 2024
2;13 hyundai SRT?
Does the calligraphy have bench seat options?
No
Can the driver leg rest be used while driving?
Yes it can
Can you start seeing if the interior and license plate lights are LEDs or incandescent? Thx
According to the specs on the Hyundai news website all interior lights are LED on all trims.
We hope to do a Night Review focused on all the lighting soon
@@CarConfections nice
The hybrid on all trim levels only costs $500 more. That is exciting, and will make the hybrid extremely difficult to find.
You should start adding license plate lights to your reviews. Telluride goes the same route with non led reverse and license plate lights, unfortunately.
the land rover inspiration is crazy
How do I get this. No dealers in Florida has them
They are on sale now so you should see them soon
twould be nice if the the 3rd row was optional. or just delete in the xrt. then it could compete directly w all the other 2row suvs.
I would really like it if they would have the third row as an option (Kia did this until 2019) and have fog lights
When u will review the all new calligraphy model of santa fe?
None of them are on sale yet but we will keep a close eye out for when they do
It would be interesting to see how this one can be modified for off road; bigger tires, lift.
Massage seats but no LED reverse lights??
What brand tires sre on the xrt
That key fob is huge
You do a good job with sound levels. Is the Odyssey elite with all acoustic glass really quieter than without in other models.? Thanks
Thank you! I don't remember if we have tested an Elite Odyssey (acoustic glass typically helps) but all our sound level readings are located here: www.carconfections.com/sound-level-readings
Front and sides look great, rear lights spoil it.
I’ve got a 2021 mk4 Santa Fe , it’s a brilliant car and I’ve considered a mk5 but here in the U.K. the only choice is going to be hybrid which is useless for me because I tow a big caravan.
You guys are GREAT & you know what you're talking about
Thank you!
Just got mine today and love it
All those 'cool' features are going to make some 'interesting' repairs bills.
Hoping you review a hybrid Calligraphy when it releases!
We will keep an eye out!
Wow The All New Box Framed Hyundai Santa Fe . Thanks Land Rover.
Is this bigger than the palisade?
No it's smaller by about 6 inches
They should make one with a 2 inch lift and 33s.
And put a V8 in it
If the brand new Santa Fe is that boxy, why I need a Palisade then? Don’t understand
I personally don't like the rear design !😕 I will pick the telluride all the way!
Take a measurement between the wheel wells too.
Is the spare tire for all trims?
No
I’ll say yes.
@@magnoliap5824 there isn't a spare on all trims. This is documented in the specs on the Hyundai news website.
The spare tire will be on all ICE (gas) trims. The hybrid will not have a spare tire.
nice looking change of the sana fe. But the back is a turnoff. Everything else is 100 % good looking
The previous Santa Fe Limited editions offered third rows.
We were talking about the previous generation which did not offer one
Idk.. the back is giving ms. Frizzles magic school bus
Great review as always. You really get all the details to us and we appreciate it.
I think this Santa Fe will do well especially with families, road travelers, and folks who need the extra space. I am thrilled i got my 2023 Calligraphy. It has all i need. But again, i think this 2024 will do well for Hyundai.
Thank you!
one of the cars waiting to be refreshed. overall proportion is fantastic in my opinion but the rear design is the problem. hope they change it later.
Is there an option to opt out of 3rd row seating and just have cargo?
Not at this time
@@CarConfections Feels like SUVs have become SUVans. Ugh!
