I was browsing the Warriors wiki once and I saw this glitch on Patchpelt's page where it moved all the names in the family tree box one step down. According to the Wiki, Adderfang, Patchpelt's father, is now Patchpelt's son. Swiftbreeze, Patchpelt's mother, is now his father, and Redtail is his mother. Spottedleaf, Willowpelt, and Leopardfoot are his brothers. His BROTHERS.
And you thought the website family trees were messed up.

I believe that Yellowfang's mother has some trust issues. The so called Marigoldkit and Mintkit were Yellowfang's siblings, and for her mother to believe she killed them is really messed up. Also apparently on the wiki it says she's in the Dark Forest? Uhhhh

Oh yes PLEASE don't let the wiki change the descriptions for the cats to the ones from the movie when it comes. I'm scared the movie'll will use ''Realistic" cat models, and not have 'some fun' with the cats, and make them look unique. Even the official book art can't decide what cats look like, and neither can us as a fandom. But the unique designs are the point. I almost wish we WEREN'T getting a movie, because I feel it'll bring 'official designs' and the wiki may feel the need to use them, but I really hope not. all fine but you made one mistake: in Yellowfangs secret it is *suggested* that it was a fox an then (Spoiler) Yellowfang got blamed for it. And she believes it was a fox but when Thunderclan trys to get their kits back she probably realizes that he killed the Kits. it was never proven to be an Fox (Note there was also no fox scent)

I was wondering why all those kits suddenly had names in the wiki
I tried the quiz on the warriors app, and because i smelt something was apaw (get it?) i checked each question in the books and on the wiki. It gave me 0, even when i knew i answered correctly. One question I got was "In Fire and Ice, which cat fell into the gorge and died?" My options were Leopardfur, Sandpaw, Whiteclaw, and Graystripe. Obviously I chose Whiteclaw, as i had recently read his death scene. The app said "NO DUMBARSE, IT WAS SANDPAW!!!" Obviously not like that, but it said Sandpaw fell off the edge and died. I deleted the app whilst flipping it off the entire time

Okay, I watched this video when it came out, and I hadn't read Yellowfang's Secret. I assumed Brokenstar killed the kits by sending them to a fox, but after reading Yellowfang's Secret, something hit me.
The book never says a fox killed the kits, only that Yellowfang detected the scent of a fox. She didn't even guess Brokenstar killed the kits.
That's why it makes sense he had his "I killed Mufasa" moment in Into The Wild when he reveals he killed Mintkit and Marigoldkit. Yellowfang had no clue.
Maybe Brokenstar spread fox-dung around the area, or just killed the kits somewhere there was fox-scent?
Sidenote -
Brokenstar in Into The Wild seemed like a boring, generic, "I am evil and am going to kill you!" villain, but when reading Yellowfang's Secret, he was sometimes kinda sweet as a kit (especially around Yellowfang), but as he descended into evil, he became really convincingly manipulative.
I really dont like the new covers for the books.Seeing a image of one gets me really annoyed.The new ones are all "Epic" and "Gritty" looking when I think they look far worse than the old covers.Have you seen the new covers for "The Darkest Hour" and "The Last Hope"?They look terrible and I hope they dont change the cover for the first one again when the film comes out.That was my rant about the covers.Also I gave up on "Continuity" for the series and just said "whatever book i'm reading is the continuity i'm going with" because its much simpler that way.

I love the new covers! It's aesthetically pleasing and the old ones could be pretty in their own right, but they don't fit into the modern aesthetic and were often pretty inconsistent/contradictory in terms of art. The new ones are just really pleasing to look at, but that's me speaking from an artist's standpoint. To each their own!

Thank you so much for making this and I 100% agree with your order, especially the decision to separate the main series from the super editions. Like you said they're contradictory at points and don't always fit neatly into the events described in the first series. I think they should be seen more as "legends" or "stories" passing on rather than the usual omniscient third person storytelling. Guardians of Ga'Hoole had "prequels" and hell even classics like The Hobbit told stories with an admittedly limited or erroneous writer iirc. Heck they could have run with that premise and given these books an all new style to them. Anyways, great job!

I assume Moon- and Clan names are forbidden as prefixes but not suffixes, and I think I heard that Moonflower was a mistake. But there's no excuse for the cat Windflight at all. Especially since he's PART WindClan.

Wait but is the Brokenstar thing an actual contradiction? The way I always saw it was that the kits should not have been outside the camp, it was Brokenstar who pushed for them to be outside the camp, training too hard, too soon. In their training they were killed by a fox. It's still almost entirely Brokenstar's fault as he disobeyed the code(?), common sense and ignored or didn't care about the heightened danger he put the kits in. I mean original I did assume Brokenstar was the one who actual fought them to death... I don't know, I don't remember the details...
The messages I was getting before Bluestar died was that Whitestorm had had a romantic relationship with her or before she went insane, had a crush on her and that was what we continuosly observed from Fireheart's point of view, Whitestorm caring for Bluestar, I still ship it

The reason viki is not writing warriors anymore is bc she is recovering from cancer and she has had no time to wright warriors bc she is recovering is says so on her face book somewhere and that is why they didn't tell us the name of the new author bc it wont last for long from my understanding

For some reason I’m rewatching so many of your videos during quarantine,
But my thoughts on the thistleclaw thing, the only thing I can think would make sense is that Bluestar’s view on Thistle was tempered with age, obviously this only kind of works if you take it in a bubble, but this is a halfassed possible explanation for Bluestar’s feelings about Thistle. Bluefur in the SE is incredibly dramatic and emotional, the whole book is about her dealing with grief and how that made her a not so great person, so her taking thistle WAY too seriously and being HELLA dramatic about how he’s gonna cause the end of the world could work. So her being older and having hindsight in forest of secrets she could be like..huh 20/20 I was pretty paranoid.
Another thing:
Dovewing is considered Bumblestripes (formal) mate in the wiki, which is DEFINITELY not true considering she just wanted to be friends with him, and not agreeing to be mates with him.
You know, I know everything about Warriors because I keep up with chats, read all the books, proofread, and still people don't know anything. Wiki doesnt know anything, they got the story for Yellowfang's Secret wrong, her kits were killed by young age. I do agree with the things you say Moonkitti, I feel all the pain.

When explained in Forest of Secrets, Mosskit is male. But all throughout Bluestar’s Prophecy Mosskit is female.

Thanks for the info on Su Suzann, I had no idea Vicky was even no longer answering stuff because I've been totally out of the loop on Warriors. I'm getting hardcore into it again (never really left the fandom) and still very passionate about the lore, so it's nice to see a vid about it.
Totally agree on both the movie and the website. The website has always been frankly terrible for getting info on the cats, and a movie will likely have serious changes from the actual series purely because they're crunching it down for a movie (see Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole) and shouldn't be treated the same as book-canon.
I'm curious on your opinion of Dawn of the Clans vs the Warriors Guidebooks. The Guidebooks are rather inconsistent sometimes but they did give us our first look at the lore of how the clans started, and it's been a subject of debate between my friends and I on whether it's what actually happened, has been warped by time and forgetful generations, or it's just an error. I gave up reading Dawn of the Clans because even though the lore fascinated me, I found the first book to be incredibly inconsistent and the I didn't like the jumpy writing or the weirdness characterization much. I might give it another try because I was younger then, but I distinctly remember completely losing track of which character was who because they couldn't stay consistent.
Anyway, I'm sticking to the special editions for now. I really enjoy that people like you are still having fun in the fandom and just paying attention to your own canon, it's always good to know we can discuss our fanstuffs in a calm environment. I hope the movie isn't to detrimental to the fandom at large.
I consider dawn of the clans main series books, so at the top of my list, over the field guides. The dawn of the clans gets better as it goes, honestly.
It just occurred to me...
Could we solve the Brokenstar issue by saying that a fox attacked, and he forced the kits to fight it instead of defending them? Allowing a couple of kits not even at apprentice age fight a fox alone is close enough to a murder by his own paws.

What about incosistencies in the main series?
Here’s my personal head canon for the ash paw and from fern paw stuff: it was dark’stripe who was the father and they weren’t close by the time we saw them in a book and when brindle’face took in cloud’kit that’s when they broke up offscreen and after cloud kit,ash kit and fern kit were Apprenticed, white storm finally took his move and had kids with her. This is my personal head cannon and I think it makes the most sense due to the fact the dark stripe looks like both of them, and could reasonably be their father due to the fact he’s a young Tom that had no mate in his life that we know of.

4:53 oh thank goodness the "moon" name is safe, i have a warriord oc "MoonDust" and i wanted to use her in my own comics/mangas im making. (lol they probably wont really be published but just for me and my vids) and i really don't want to break any warriors "rules" because then i'd sound immature, and that i dont respwct true warriors, which i DO love the warriors books with all my heart.

For The yellow fang and kits problem I think broken Star DID kill them but he blamed it on a Fox in yellow fangs perspective, making it look like she couldn't heal a fix bite and in turn as a bad medicine cat or something like that idk

Speaking of books getting it wrong, did any of you realize in bramblestar' s storm it said 1. BRAMBLESTAR/CLAW WAD SQUIRRELFLIGHT'S MENTOR, ( dustpelt, who?) 2. When graystripe is moving to the elders den he has this big speech and what not, and he said he was SO PROUD of his daughter, MISTYSTAR/FOOT for becoming leader of riverclan, and wished his son, STONEFUR could see this day, ( like, who are stormfur, feathertail, bluestar, and oakheart anyway?) Anyway I died laughing and was in a fit when reading this book lol
