    Thank you for covering a topic that is very hard to find information on. I wonder what happened to Jewish Christians located on Cyprus, a site that Saul/Paul visited early in his missionary travels?

      Good question.

      I apologize for that question, I was hoping there was a source that you might have access to that would provide an answer. I have read/heard that the Romans killed every Jew on Cyprus in revenge for the Jews killing every Greek on the island as part of their revolt; but like you said in the video, those reports can’t be totally trusted. Thank you for all your work in producing these great videos.

    Shalom Dr. Abramson. While doing more research on Lukuas I came across a website that mentioned the likelihood of him being the source for Koshab bar Ulla, someone who participated in the Kitos revolt but then fled to Judea/Lydda where he was captured and executed by the Romans. Do you have any particular insight you can share?

    I've yet to hear from this excellent lecturer, that at time first century C.E. one fifth of the population around Medditeranean Sea were Jewish colonists, exiles, slaves, or converts. And they believed evil of these empires root cause in paganism and hedonism, and Judaism's ethical monotheism emphasis caused them to see themselves as a morally superior, cultural alternative to Roman decadence. Inspired young Jews throughout the region would travel to Judea to repell a cruel conqueror. As Ukraine war shows.

    Jesus is Andreas/ Lukuas from the kitos war 115- 117ce aka the Roman Jewish wars. Jesus 10 lieutenants/ disciples were killed in lydda ( called the slain of lydda and the 10 martyrs in the talmud, 2 of which was beheaded) , while Jesus ran to judea with his top 2 lieutenants/ disciples.where he got crucified with them on either side of him. Baruch Hashem, Rabbi. Now please tell me Im right?

      That seems to be the way the Roman historians describe the beginning of the rebellion, but we certainly need more data.

      But could be, Jews started the rebellion in North Africa. Very hard to get an accurate picture of Jewish population distributions at the time.

      Who knows for sure but the Kitos revolt seems to have been kindled from the smoldering embers from the Parthian War just a few year previously.

    Shalom Dr. Abramson. The individual person of Lukuas has fascinated me for a long time and I’m curious if there are any scant allusions to him in the Talmud, and if not do know a reason why that might be? Medieval Syrian historians, Michael the Syria and Bar Hebraeus write that Lukuas (named by them Lysias and Lumpis respectively) fled to Judea after he was defeated by Roman forces in Egypt. Would you know what sources they might have had for this? Thank you. Shalom!

      @danieljliverslxxxix1164 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@HenryAbramsonPhD Yeah he's really obscure. Even rabbinical writers seem to disregard him. My theory is that the name "Andreas" was Cassius Dio misunderstanding Lukuas's messianic ambition. Lukuas probably referred to himself as "Man of/from God." Lukuas may not be his real name either and I think he was connected to the Parthian Empire in some way.
      There's also the messianic claimant Artemion on Cyprus.

    ...Seems like a new diet against carbs, called Keto for getting into Ketosis, as they describe their goal, may have something to do with antisemitism indirectly... The top of the U.S. Congress building, has the Roman goddess of freedom, on top of it...One wonders of the implications...Especially in recent current events, with CV19 and the upheavals, as we approach two thousand years, of going without a temple in Jerusalem....
