Hi Jess. I love watching your videos, and I admire how imaginative and creative you are in terms of coming up with fun and or functional ways to use a journal. I have been journaling since I was 13, now 50+ and I found that journaling styles vary on what phase you are in your life but the main purpose remains the same. I myself have less "to do's" because I don't have a corporate job anymore but I am a stay at home mom and my journal now doesn't have meetings and work related deadlines, instead filled with things related to home stuff. I also incorporate a diary style in my journal for things I want to talk more about in detail. I have a suggestion, in response to the question of what to write in your journal if you don't have a lot of task, you can write your daily accomplishments, no matter how small like waking up 30mins before your usual, or washing the dishes, watching a show. I found that writing these small accomplishments can do a lot of help to your mental health. I hope this helps even a little. Looking forward to more videos Jess.❤

I've been using a B5 as my bullet journal for 2 years now and I LOVE it - I can do a weekly dashboard on 2 pages that gives me enough space and I can fit a whole year in one journal. Love seeing these layouts for more inspiration!

Long time lurker, chiming in. Working on my July, August, and September set-up using the Year of the Dragon tapes from the Washi Tape Shop (Shameless plug, these, and the Japanese stickers set go beautifully together.)

Thank you for this live! I'm needing some motivation to get into work today and I think I need to review my work notes and files to organize them all as well as writing a cold call email.

I totally feel you about the office… I have had many setups in my previous office, but the door was always a problem. In my current office and setup I do not really have a choice because of space. But I have gotten quite good at knowing what or who I’m hearing. I do not always turn around and I’m good. Yay!

Nice! I know that the only person it will ever be is Vogel (well hopefully, 'cause it's just the two of us 😂) but it still gives me the 👀👀👀 feeling 😅

Have you ever thought of watching some of the content of an archiyon TH-cam specialized in Feng Shui, called @DearModern ?
Because he explains a lot about energy flows kind of things, and maybe it could help with your new room layout.
Just a thought though, have you ever thought about having a mirror to "watch your back" in the meantime?

I use s B5 to plan my life and my lesson plans for science. I like having a 2 page spread for my weekly and another 2 page spread for the unit plan.
It is hard to carry around, but it fits everything I need for a week on 2 pages. 😮

You mentioned ideas for videos, here are some suggestions on some topics that maybe you could use or may spark better ideas for video content. The first, though it may fall under project planning would be starting a small home business style project layout, (it could fall under goals too), I would love to see your beginning to end rework of your office planning stages, another give away 12 hour live streamed (adored the one you did), a live review of all the different layout styles as far as monthly, weekly and even daily logs, how to use a journal to create and maintain routines and improve habits by logging them in different ways and different layouts for tracking new routines, changing routines etc., Fall is coming for many of us, especially, in the USA, so prepping for fall decluttering, fall deep cleaning and resets, any layouts that would help with daily routines and paying better attention to our to do lists by the hour, I always lose track of time, Ways to organize our bujo supplies (pens, stickers, PET tape etc,), you could do a back to school prep layout for getting supplies together, putting together routines in our journals for morning and evening and for students with extra curricular activities and study time slots. I know many of these have been done but, maybe with these topics you can get creative and figure out something new that has not been done or do some of these in a different layout. I find changing my layouts and styles really helps me stay involved with my bujo. I am also trying really hard to look at life with gratitude instead of a scarcity mindset. My thoughts have stayed a little off since 2020 and I am finding myself daily falling back into the prep stage mindset, every fall. Like is this winter going to be the winter we get stuck inside again and for some who get to see snow (here in the southeast, we rarely see it now) many are looking to stock up and prep for the snowed in days around the northern US.I i also know many are prepping for hurricane season in the US because it is supposed to be a rough season, so some kind of prep lists would be helpful in the bujos, from a minimal prep to a full on maximized prep list. I hope something sparks your interest or gives you some content ideas. Love all you do on your channel...

I'd like a video with a traveler's journal passport size, and different inserts. 🤩

That's actually a great choice for a B5 R&D journal! The icon's totally appropriate. My sub box was refunded because it was so sub-par compared to what the reveal videos were. :( It would also be a good location for swatches!

I am working on a writing Project Journal along with my Daily for August. I need to have multiple things to work on and jump between things. So far, my progress is alright.. but with everything I want to track for the writing project, I do nooot have the space for everything.. so I am still fighting with layouts and how I want to organize without repeating info.

For your office, would having a mirror you can quickly glance at instead of turning around help? According to Feng shui that’s how you can ‘fix’ it if another placement is not available.

Minimalism isn't "no decoration". THAT is non-decorative. Sadly the people making a fuss about decoration not being minimalist are people that do Simplified (ie: non-decorative). Minimalism is pretty without layers. Maximalist is people who set up scrap-bookish/layered decorations to their pages (ie: your media journal/recent design preference/Erin Smith 😋)

I feel minimalism is always relative and also depending on the person, context etc. I just really don’t understand the dogma that sometimes surrounds it. 😅

Hi Jess! To answer your question about minimalism, when I think about it the creator that jump to mind is @supermassiveblackink. She does black and white, super functional layouts with a lot of white space. Some of them are still quite decorative, with different lettering styles and patterns. In my mind, her stuff is the definition of minimalism in journaling. I LOVE what she does and I wish I could be able to do it myself. But white space scares me (and that's why I use black pages! :P). Let me know what you think! :)
