  • RED RASPBERRY LEAF TEA PREGNANCY | Your Questions Answered: - In this video I discuss the benefits of red raspberry leaf tea in pregnancy. I am a midwife and I have all of my mommas drink red raspberry leaf tea in pregnancy because I have noticed a huge difference in post patrum bleeding between my mommas who do drink red raspberry leaf tea in pregnancy and those who do not drink red raspberry leaf tea in pregnancy.
In this video I answer your questions about how much red raspberry leaf tea you need to be getting throughout your pregnancy, when to start drinking red raspberry leaf tea while your pregnant and how it benefits pregnant women during their pregnancy.

I’m only here for the “what month can I start drinking RRL” question. THANK YOU!!!!! I’m finally hitting four months in about 3 days and will be starting my tea!!!!!
I drank RRL with my second pregnancy starting at 32 weeks. When I got the the hospital I was 5-6 cm and it only felt like a period cramps.

Love this video! I have been drinking RRLT with all my pregnancies. I am currently 34 weeks pregnant with my 4th child, and I am hoping for another natural birth! My first birth, my son was OP and it went on for over 24 hours, I got an epidural and that was a horrible experience. With my second and third birth, I was determined to have them naturally, and I can tell any woman asking questions about natural birth, that my natural births were easier experiences, because I could actually listen to my body, and I was able to deliver on "all fours", which worked so well for me because I am only 5'2 petite and my babies have all been about 8 lbs. Thank you for the great information in this video!

Currently 36+5 and I’ve been drinking a ton of RRL tea daily. The easiest way to do it is to brew a full pot of water in my kettle and I add 8-9 bags of RRL tea bags (1500mg each). Once it’s nice and concentrated after steeping for an hour and cooled a bit I pour it all into a large jug and add 6-7 packets of sweetener and put it in the fridge. Every day I just get a big yeti, add ice and fill it with my cold RRL tea! I’m able to drink like 60 oz a day this way and it’s refreshing and keeps me hydrated.

British here, and yes it's the default in the UK to drink milk with tea! Although this is usually for the regular black tea that everyone drinks. It's not a thing to add it to herbal teas, but I must admit I have done that in the past (and people thought I was really weird 😂). The only time it doesn't work is if your box of tea says it's an infusion (usually fruit teas) as it makes the milk curdle. However, it works in regular herbal teas like green tea. I think it would be fine in raspberry leaf although I haven't tried it.

If I'm not mistaken, the reason English people used to add milk to their tea was to protect their china tea cups from cracking, so they'd add the milk then follow with hot tea. I could be wrong, but that's my understanding of the origin of adding milk to tea.
In the 1980s, boba tea (typically black or jasmine tea, with black tapioca pearls and milk of some sort, and added sweeteners) became a huge deal in Taiwan. Now, in many places, there are shops that specifically sell boba tea with all different flavors of tea.
Milk and tea is a pretty common combination. 🧋

I'd read years ago that yes the English add milk to their tea but that in doing so supposedly, it might or it's thought to possibly block the calcium from the milk (This may be dependent on the particular type of milk that you use) and conversely, supposedly or possibly the milk is thought to block the antioxidants of the tea from getting absorbed by your body.
It may be teas that are caffeinated that have a blocking action of the calcium of the milk that you choose just as it may be the type of milk that you choose that may or may not block the antioxidants in the tea from being absorbed. I am unsure if it's not a good idea or not the best identitritionally to add them to each other but if the English had been doing this for years there's bound to be a benefit that we may not be entirely aware of.
I've actually had tea with milk in it and I certainly had my share of chai tea lattes, so I am a fan of adding them together at times. If nothing else, I feel that possibly having the raspberry tea both with milk at times and without it at other times can give you the best of both worlds when it comes to taste, preference, nutrition, and absorption.

I’m a little late to the party lol, but why would my OBGYN advise not to drink RRL tea due to the risk of causing contractions? I’m 37 weeks now. She also said I don’t need to be doing the perineal massage, but the birth class I went to at a different providers hospital recommended it. Could it be differences in knowledge and training?? It’s my first baby, and I’m trying to do everything to make laboring easier for myself.

Hi Kira! I’m currently 28 weeks, low risk pregnancy. My last birth I got induced at 42 weeks with 0 dilation and 0 effacement. Had to be put on cervidil. Tons and tons of bleeding for months. It was brutal, anyway hoping RRLT May help me out. I did drink it in my last pregnancy but I probably didn’t drink enough and probably didn’t start drinking it early on enough. That being said, I bought the loose RRLT and wondering exactly how much to measure of the loose leaf per day for 28 weeks and when exactly does it increase? I like to know EXACT amounts 😁

      Hi Lynsey!
