Admittedly I don’t know shit about the music business, but How this guy and his songs are not majorly known and recognized is beyond me. On the other hand maybe because listening to his work is like going to a comfortable, cozy secret hiding place known to only a few - and if it were more known it wouldn’t be the same.
It's because the music industry sucks nowadays, most people don't care to search out real music anymore. Mikel's band, The Airborne Toxic Event, is incredible. They nourished my soul throughout these last 15 years. Thanks for your post.
My youngest is starting to reluctantly learn this song I play it so much. She was supposed to go with me to their Philly concert last year. :-( I'll make a convert out of her yet.
