Does Jun hold the record for longest gap between canonical appearances in a video game series? I feel like two-and-a-half decades would be a tough number to beat.
There are probably a few that beat it out (maybe the new Monkey Island brought back someone 30 years later? I didn't play it myself), but she's gotta be up there You could probably make an argument that there was a nearly 30 year gap between a key character in Ground Zeroes/Metal Gear Solid V and the original Metal Gear, although that one's shrouded in weird plot twisty Kojimaisms whereas Jun's return has actually been actively anticipated.
I'm already imagining the clips of her doing her rage art cutscene while equipped with a shower head, snorkels, frog hat, a floating fish, and frog pajamas.
Honestly that ain't a Rage Art, that's a Relax Art. Look how calm it is, for darn's sake! Maybe it's just me, but when I think Rage Art, I think of a final sequence of attacks from a desperate fighter. They are meant to show that the fighter means business even though his/her health is low. I can understand Paul's Death Fist as a statement of superiority (keep telling yourself that, Paul), Kazuya's flurry of demonic strikes to finish you off, King's uber stylish wrestling as the finale of his performance, even Jack-8's Lazer gun of ultimate obliteration. But Jun's? She's like the last person I expect to pull out a final attack out of desperation. She seems so calm when she approaches her opponent and cleanses them of their sins. I guess that fits her pacifist nature? TLDR; I find Jun's Rage Art appropriate to her character, but a complete opposite to a Rage Art's core principle.
To be fair, Kazuya had tried multiple times to turn their only child into pure evil man or absorb his Devil Gene for himself. Jun slapping him is fully warranted.
Jun is "The Light of Hope" for Kazuya not being a one dimensional predictable 2D villain anymore. Finally we have Jun again and Kazuya can be what made the character so intersting at first and the reason why he is so liked: a conflicted anti-villain/anti-hero.
Kazuya has been pure evil since he was first introduced. If he just suddenly becomes an anti villain like they did with Heihachi for T7, then it would just make the storyline even more repetitive than it already is
@@SolusFather you've got that backwards homie, Heihachi was evil from the start, and they pulled this antihero thing at the last minute during Tekken 7 for him. But kazuya was always the justifiable grudge. He accepts the deal with the devil, but if your father treated you like Heihachi treated Kaz probably would have to.
@@TheEdwardAlchemist Nah you got it wrong homie, Kazuya accepting the deal with devil isn’t cannon. Kazuya inherited the devil gene from his mother Kazumi who turned out to be an evil entity the whole time. Heihachi finding out that his son could possibly grow up to be another Kazumi dropped him from a cliff to know for sure if he was an inheritor of the devil gene or not, clearly he was and boom, anti hero/villian Heihachi.
@@SolusFather well sure, but it confirms my original point. That was a retcon. Originally Heihachi chucked his ass off the cliff, because "lionesses do that their cubs, and raise the ones that climb back up". He was just a madlad. 'toxic masculine' lmao. So up until T7 story mode Kazuya was the antihero/understandable villain.
@@SolusFather nah it wouldn't. Cause if he was pure evil since first introduce then at least changed to an anti villain, then it breaks a cycle of him wreaking havoc

I was 6 years old when i first saw Jun in Tekken 2
I can see her being Tekken 8's Boss
Jun as a Tekken 8 boss? Absolutely not. She was literally a playable character bro, what??? Kazuya is the boss/final boss in Tekken 8. She can't be a villain as she now have a pure heart.
@@michaelrobosa146 I agree but what if, she somehow gets engulfed by “Unknown” and becomes the main villain or the final boss
my guy already dropped a reaction video
At 8:58
Looks like F2 (demon slayer?) Doesn't launch on hit anymore but transitions into a string that does launch.
Interesting. Wonder if that'll be the same for asuka
8:41 is pretty crazy. Tooth fairy no longer a normal hit launch? It gets a follow up but has to heat to turn it into a launcher
EDIT: Er. not launch but heat engage.
THIS IS WHAT IVE BEEN WAITING FOR
11:33 "Are those two like hawks coming up there?"
The Mainman, expert ornithologist.
As Kazuya main he was probably thinking "yeah hit him harder".
Wow quick trailer reaction, but what about poor Jack ? XD I'll have to say I'm legit surprised that I still haven't gotten sick of the one trailer music they've been using. It's so energetic and it always flows super well with the editing. Hard to believe Jun is back after so long but I'm really happy to see her. I grew up on Tekken 2 and it's still my favorite so glad to see Tekken 8 making callbacks to it.
Fastest reaction in recent time. This man is loyal.
12:35 Kanbashira to IZU stance still existed
Love the f+3 to IZU stance though😊
I wonder if she's supposed to be 37 physically but 43/44 mentally. Wouldn't make sense for her to be in her twenties when she was alive for 15 years in Jin's life.
Yeah, she's definitely not in her 20's. She could just have good genes, which is why she's a smoking hot babe.
@@_Jay_Maker_ I think it’s just because Japanese has a thing against old women. That’s why Kunimitsu in Tekken 7 is the original Kuni’s daughter or granddaughter I forgot exactly which.
@@_Jay_Maker_ And 37 is still young so it's not like you'll have crazy wrinkles at that age.
@@nixuniverse5240 that's true. They did make Lidia 29 so hopefully that means they're trying to get past that stereotype. She'll be pushing 30 in T8.
She can be immortal, maybe she doesn’t age , maybe she is a spirit who knows.
T8 trailers doin some work last couple of weeks!
LOVE IT!
I love how massive this stage is. Thought it was an infinite stage until they showed the wall.
Jun Kazama & Nina Williams Tekken Queens CONFIRMED! Keen to see more women revealed.
Jin and Jun have matching outfits.
Why do I have this feeling that just like in TTT2, her stage becomes a dark void for the final round.
At EVO Japan , BAMCO might introduce a new set of 6 or so characters similar to the first Trailer introduction . Then weekly versions of the next Bunch . BRYAN ,YOSHI, ETC . 🎉
That sound you can hear is the bottom of the barrel being scraped.
"Thit siund yiu hir is tji bittim if thi birril"... wtf are you talking about
There were hints all along, but Mainman finally confirms that Jun is his Tekken waifu LOL
Never thought i’d ever be so excited for story mode but we here TODAY
Tekken 2 will always have a special place in my heart as it's my first Tekken game and it has some of the best tracks in the series.
The fact that Jun is back is so heartwarming, especially with her and Kazuya finally acknowledging their history here. Can't wait.
I'm waiting for that Baek trailer
She's the Light of Hope that Kazuya will have his long awaited redemption! Can't wait :D
Jin still has his db4 🤩
Can we please note how GOOD the water effects look on this stage !
12:31 never noticed this before. Kaz grabs his face during this animation on his bound
Does that mean this was the last of the confirmed characters? I believe we have trailers for all of them
I used to play her in Ttt2 so I didn’t miss her as much but she was my main before I turned into a Lilimain so this is heartwarming. She was my first ever main!!
The stage is so good 🥲
Kazuya: You were alive all along
Jun: Kazuya... Get rekt!
Kazuya truly said "Masku"
