just a tip: when you light a candle, try to keep the wick as short as possible, like two or three millimeters. this helps avoid that huge “ pit-effect “ in the container!

To prevent tunneling you need to burn it until all the surface is melted evenly. If you blow it out before itll tunnel all the way through

My reaction to velvet rose was: “Oh, that sounds pleasant!” Before remembering that I hate the smell of roses.

It really, _really_ irritates me that these claim to be hypoallergenic when they're using mica powder.
Mica powder is a known allergen--a _commonly known_ allergen. I myself am allergic to certain pigmentations of mica powder, and if the bath bomb, the soap, or the body butter got on my skin, I would be in misery.
Vegetable dyes are the best bet for a hypoallergenic pigment. Obviously it'd be more expensive, but the company should either commit to being truly hypoallergenic or remove the claim from the product.

As a candle maker; that candle making kit literally hurt my soul and offended the art of candles

@@sweetandsourluna I also make soaps (a lot of different beauty products too) and some of these kits she reviews are so incomplete when it comes to actually learning the skills or atleast correctly completing and getting a "perfect" result in the end

Well the thing with mica powders is that, most of the time, you don't know where they are imported from. The most mica-rich regions are some rural regions in India, where they use child labor to mine it, with accidents being quite common, some even lethal ones. The thing is that the mines are so small that only children can get into them. Here is an interesting video on it:

The best thing do use would be synthetic mica, which some companies already develop, allowing for colorful pigments that are also non-toxic and safe for the environment.
I'm so glad someone said this! Mica is almost never ethically sourced and the cheap stuff used in these kits is most definitely not.

We always joke that if we tried to write a book on the stuff she says we'd have to bleep or sensor a good half of it lol. But I love my mom and my brother. The three musketeers. Our mom raised and supported us both while our fathers chose to abandon us. She took him to doctors appointments, surgeries, and faced her fear of needles all to keep him from going blind while cheering me on through my band career. Every concert and football game. She was there to watch me play my flute. All while putting herself through college and at times working up to two jobs. She's the definition of strength. She told my brother and I that despite having different dads we weren't half siblings because in this world our family is who we should trust the most. We were siblings and that's all that matters. I'm lucky to have such a close relationship with my family.

Home from the kids kick off for the ”reading holiday”. I was one of four leaders and we had crafting stations. I had the ”carving sweet pepper” (because pumpkins are too expesive) station and painting station. It was hundred kids and no one got hurt on the knifes or anything. The scent of lavender makes me think about the time I suffered through making honey lavender ice cream and I too don't like it
Honey orange blossom or honey rose is much nicer. Lavender triggers my migraines, even small amounts, it's horrible.

I'll have to try both of them, though I'm not making them like I did the Honey Lavender... I made something not quite ice cream, from the lack of actual cream! It's typically recommended to trim candle wicks to about a quarter inch (or about half a centimeter). Candles by Victoria has a great list of tips for burning candles. :3

With the second kit I think the reasom why the scent is so faint is to make it hypoallergenic. I have pretty sensirive skin, and from mine, and other's experiences strong scents can cause a reaction

I have the candle and bathbomd kit, I haven't used the bathbomb one yet but the candle one worked just fine for me.
We made like 100 soaps when I was in p6 (year 5) and sold them all, there were loads of soaps and this is what we spent a whole day just going through the process of making soaps and wrapping and labelling

I voted in favour of Sharp pointy things for Sika! And earplugs for thunderstorms. 😊 I had a terrible phobia of thunderstorms (complete with full blown panic attacks) which lasted well into adulthood. I cured it by binging on any documentary I could find about them, then I eventually sat up one night without my curtains open and watched a storms. Now I've gone completely other way and I love them. 😊
The candle was a disappointment but way the mica sparkles moved in the hot wax was pretty, though. 😊
The bath bomb was a pleasant surprises! You could probably safely use proper essential oils for a stronger scent. 🤔 😊

I actually bought some of these kits before you posted a video and I loved them. I had the citrus candle, body scrub and body butter. (They were mostly citrus scented) We got them for like $5 on clearance. Edit fixed mistake 😊
