Hello! Wow what a great deal!!! I bought mine on Facebook Marketplace and it’s been leaking water from the bottom. Anyone know why? Also beeps and always has the Clean light on.

      The coffee machine was $18?

Alternative solution: I didn’t have the right screwdriver so I added vinegar a little at a time into the black valve and pressed to drain it into the machine. When it stopped draining I knew it was filled. I let it sit, then ran a clean cycle and it worked! I ran three more clean cycles with vinegar/water mix and two more with clean water. So far so good.

The flow meter detects reduced flow signaling the maker to do the five beeps. I went through six videos, including yours (yours was the most helpful!), and I cleaned the hose and the scale off in three different ways. It worked for a week before the beep came back. I told Ninja on Twitter about it, and others did, too. Template response. Treated you like a generic customer and not a person. If they would've responded on Twitter with real solutions, I'd have stuck with it, but when the beep came back after a week, I said, "Okay, that's it." I later bought an Aeropress for $30 and it makes better coffee, faster (as fast as you can get hot water), quieter, and you can take it anywhere. That said, thanks for the video, Lenia. It helped.

So you think Ninja should teach you how to completely disassemble your coffee pot...just because you have water problems, and don't clean your coffee pot enough to adjust for it?
They give you basic maintenance instructions, dummy lights, and audible warnings. But your water problems are still there fault...just because.
Would you blame Ford for not teaching you how to disassemble your engine/fuel system...because you keep putting bad gas in your car?

    • @soupynate2323
      @soupynate2323 ปีที่แล้ว

@@zamiel3 no i blame ford for putting a deficient EVAP system on their vehicles causing line failure and backup... just like the new bronco, instead of improving the EVAP canister they applied a sticker on the fuel door telling you to stick the nozzle all the way in and then back it out... this totally negates the point of a canister EVAP system... this failure isn't the customers, it's the manufacturers fault for delivering a piece of shit

  • @jimreedy6991
    @jimreedy6991 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

Took the two screws out of the boiler..fought to get the pump out to inspect the tube...when i pulled it out...there were yellow plastic pieces from the the plastic cap blocking the hole OUT. Apparently there was a small funnel on the inside of the cap ?? And it decayed and lodged itself into the exit hole ...blocking 75% of the exit.
Cleaned out with a bottle brush- ran cleaning cycle with vinegar...then water 3 times...
    NO MORE BEEP!

This is wonderful, thank you. One note, when you pulled the white plastic piece off, the gray gasket was in the metal boiler. When I put it back together that way it leaked like a sieve. After a few tries I realized that you have to put the grey gasket around the plastic piece before putting it back together. Other than that, great video!

I am so grateful for this video. I had tried literally everything I could think of... cleaning everything, trying to run clean cycles with vinegar, pulling out and cleaning all the inner tubings and no clogs. I was ready to throw it away!
My problem was caked build up of calcium deposits in the silver cavity. After taking care of that issue, it finally was able to filter an entire reservoir of water without an interruption of the dreaded 5 beeps. Then, I was able to run the much needed clean cycles and everything is now working as it should. I appreciate you!

This worked for me. Thank you! Btw, if your having trouble getting that calcium scraped off like I did, soak a towel or a paper towel in white vinegar, stuff it in there and leave it for awhile. That loosened it up well for me. Also, make sure you put that gasket around the plastic circle before you reconnect it; I didn't do that correctly and water poured out the bottom when I tried it out.

Thanks for posting this! It saved my Ninja! I had been experiencing the 5 beeps of death for weeks. Repeated cleanings did nothing to solve the problem and I was searching for answers. Its ridiculous that a user has to dismantle a coffee maker just to brew a simple cup of coffee. At least I know how to do it now if the Ninja's death song comes on again. By the way, I had a lot of difficulty removing the bottom covering. Some of the torx screws were stripped. I ended up breaking the bottom to get it off but was able to superglue it back together.

So first of all, thank you. This worked!!! Little upset about the torx security bit set I had to buy- but ended up with a 100 piece kit from Harbor Freight for $9.99- beats another $200-500 coffee system. I made the mistake of not seating the seal correctly and ended up with half a pot’s worth of water and vinegar on my counter... so I got to get those super clean as well!!!! Mine was actually almost new, so it wasn’t dirty. What I realized is that there seems to be sensors on the filter holder. I had mine between two appliances, so could open it to put coffee in it, but it wasn’t opening fully to trip the sensor. So as long as I open the coffee filter door fully, hear a tick, then push it closed and hear another tick, it works fine.

Opened up the pump housing by slightly turning it and it unlocked easily. Made sure the small little fins inside it was able to move freely and cleaned out the small hose attached to it. Put everything back together and sure enough it worked! After running a full coffee pot (just water), lots of little calcium nuggets got flushed out and went onto the coffee basket!

This, alone, didn't work for me and I was ready to throw it away. I saw somewhere else about bubbles getting in the line and it said to burp the machine. I unplugged it, removed filter and basket and turned it over in the sink. I pushed the button where the water reservoir meets and let the water drain. I began turning it up right again and let the water drain from where it fills the filter basket. I repeated this until no more water came out and while it was upside down in the sink, I spanked it pretty hard on the bottom a few times. Plugged it back in and it immediately ran a full clean cycle without beeping after 20 seconds! My wife is impressed.

Hi, Lenia! I used your video to help fix my coffee maker, thanks. A quick insight on why this works:
    - The hose you cleaned connects to a flow meter (Google "ab32 s21p030c 11R" and you'll see a doc explaining that it's a flow meter used for coffee makers that use "vibration pumps". The 30c is the opening in mm (3.0mm), 11R is the angle (w/e that means) and AB32 represents a model.
    - The inside of the coffee maker gets reeeeeallly scaly, like we saw here, and I think scale clogs up the hose
    - I think clogging up the hose causes the flow meter to register as "too low of flow"
    - The coffee pot takes this signal, shuts it off, and gives you the five beeps.
So I think five beeps means inadequate flow, caused by scale, which you eliminate which makes it work.

Also, they don't use phillips or flathead screws (sadly), so you need a $4 screwdriver called a "CHANNELLOCK T10X3 TORX" screwdriver. Amazon'll ship it to you in ~5 days (despite it being prime). You can find it here www.amazon.com/CHANNELLOCK-T10-Torx-Set/dp/B00YGINM5C . I learned this from another comment, I'm not sure where :o

I have the answer to the 'Beep of Death 2.o'... It requires the dismantling of the Swing Brew Basket. There are subsurface magnetic contacts that feed the ability to perform a brew cycle. At the root of all of this is a a spring to facilitate the contact. And, there you go, no need to buy a new unit... Definitely a weak design and I will show you how to reinforce it as well!!!

Nice video, thanks. NOW, can someone help solve the OPPOSITE problem... my Ninja (CF097) has started dispensing LESS and LESS liquid each month. To get the same amount of brew I've had to bump the dial from TRAVEL (16oz) to XL MULIT-SERVE (20oz) and now up to HALF CARAFE (25oz) just to get the same amount of coffee brew. It puts out a LOT of steam & takes longer and longer but only a slow drip comes out. This unit has NEVER had anything in it but pure distilled water (no minerals at all). What is the mechanism that decides how much liquid is dispensed? Is it a timer?

my model is from years ago, bought it brand new and has been in the close for several years while I used the first Ninja Cafe bar. So, took it out of the box brand new(same as your model minus the hotplate) ran 2 clean cycles as instructed and then made my first cup of coffee no problems. After first cup the 5 beeps started in now my other unit also did the 5 beeps from time to time but with some adjusting of the water reservoir it seemed to be a rare thing whereas with this new/old machine it's constant. Personally, I think the sensor for the basket or basket bucket maybe triggering something or the water reservoir signal since there seems to be some excess water beneath the reservoir?? But this is technically a brand new model? Any thoughts before I take out the sledge hammer?

I’m torn! I want to say, yes because I love the functions it has and the price of the unit wasn’t too bad compared to the other brands like the nespresso brand ones which can cost upwards of $400. In fairness, I did have the unit for about a year before I had to to this cleaning with it taken apart. Perhaps if I had run the clean cycle with some vinegar more regularly it would not had calcified so much in the little boiler pot.

    • @belennavarrete6892

I found that the problem was that I didn't "clean" it regularly. Especially if its going to be used daily and multiple times a day, which was my case. Vinegar is a good and cheap solution to use to keep it clean inside. I really enjoy my ninja coffee maker

Hey all, a year in, and this is still THE BEST HOW-TO-FIX video on your Ninja.....I have referred to it several times. I no longer do the vinegar cleaning cycle, ever. It takes HOURS of hovering and doesn't work. The reason is that the Ninja boiler is something like 3 inches tall, and only about 1/2 of an inch of liquid sits in the boiler; the rest quickly cycles in and out...so the vinegar/special coffee maker cleaner doesn't have time to do it's thing! Save yourself the frustration. Skip everything else. Go straight to the boiler. My tips: Clean boiler soon after the coffee maker has been brewing, because the hot water seems to soften the mineral gunk.
Scrape down the inside of the boiler with a screwdriver best you can. Then use a small wad of sponge or cloth to plug the hole at the far end of the boiler and fill the boiler with vinegar, and hopefully the plug of sponge will hold the vinegar so it SLOWLY drains, fizzling as it goes. Now find the sharpest junky knife you can and scrape again. Then use a skinny fork (I use a little 2-pronged lobster fork) to swirl a somewhat abrasive scrubby pad soaked in vinegar around in there. Repeat till satisfied. You'll never get all the mineral scale off, but the machine will work fine with the bulk of it gone. Even if you scrape around for half an hour to an hour, it is still way easier (and effective) than the useless time trying to use the the cleaning cycle. I do this every three months or so, when the Ninja needs to brew twice (or three times if I am delinquent!) just to fill my coffee mug!

Remove all of the screws, including the two heating element cover screws, before you put it into the sink. That way you don't lose any of the tiny screws down the drain. And then assemble on the countertop, not near the sink.

Another question....I do wonder how scale build-up in the boiler actually makes it so that the sensors don't work???
Another observation while I'm in there...it is clear that in mine, the bottom half of the boiler is all pocked and clear of scale build-up...so when I leave de-scaling solution overnight in desperation, it IS doing its thing, but also eating away at the metal (is that aluminum??? Yuck!)...and then halfway up the boiler the scale WAS built up, and near impossible to clean it all down to the metal. This tells me that the Ninja does NOT hold a full boiler of water, and therefore makes the cleaning cycle imperfect. Maybe the reason I am only getting a few tablespoons of brew at a time is because my boiler was partly caked on inside????

GeneralCane so true! I agree! I just couldn’t stomach spending over $100 on another one. 😖

As i'm experiencing the beeps and had to go to starbucks for coffee this morning, i'm extremely disappointed that this happened in under a year with regular cleanings... Ninja coffee bar sucks.

Excellent video! Thanks. The only “extra” step I had to do was break a plastic retaining clip that holds the plastic fixture in place. Easy-peasy!

Idea is VERY helpful. I need to do this but cannot find the right screwdriver to get the bottom screws out. I’ve bought 4 wrong ones so far and I’m afraid of stripping the screws. HELP!!!
