Great video! That's one reason I had my XJ40 for cheap: The connections on the ignition amplifier were bad, making the car not start. Then there was the fuel pump, then basically the whole car :) More and more I understand that the X300 and newer were so much better built and more fuel efficient. Also, time flies and they are getting very old, making them harder to keep road-worthy. Plus the economy going down the drain, some people getting sick, all that not fun stuff :(
I did a full service and engine tune-up, new sensors, HT leads etc. Now, for some reason the "Fuel Fail 22/24" as well as "Check Engine" light are on, so the car is super rich and battles when doing the kick down for overtaking. Obviously over fueling. Any ideas? Maybe fuel/air pressure sensor or ECU?
hey Jesse love the channel please let me know about the ebay parts channel and if you ever discover a 1988 xj40/xj6 car with a 2.9 engine please show some video on that since the jag engine is quite different. Right now my 2.9 jag is down. Every thing works - it has current to coil and all the way to the plugs proper firing order but no spraining of gas from the injector. Fuel pump is fine and pressure in the like but no gas spraying from the injectors and the injectors are fine too. Crazy question but do you might have a ideas?
Hi thanks for all your jag video's, easy to follow and great explanation, do you have a part number for the ignition amplifier Thanks Again from the UK
hi sir! can you please make a video how is the routing of vacuum hoses, from vacuum valve to intake manifold and to canister of XJ40 JAGUAR? Thank you and very appreciated your all videos of XJ40.
Brilliant. In the early 90s I remember seeing people wrapping plastic bags over distributor caps!!?? 🤣😂 Usually a Vauxhall Nova SR or Golf GTi Mk 1. Btw selling the xj40? 😲
Jesse, you've easily saved me several hundred dollars with your channel. Thank you!!!!

mañana my friend - first thing !
Dang Jesse, where was this video when I had two XJ-40's with goof ball problems 😂I've had the XJ bug again, but not the 40.
Man, a perfect video. My XJR40 is running very poor after pressure washing it. Is it possible, that the coil git wet and so broke?
