RH always was and always will be Todd Manning. These scenes were so liberating for so many viewers who never bought TSJ and his weird "take" on this iconic character that RH worked so hard to shape. This was soap opera payoff in its truest sense!
Clearly you have zero idea about the history of the REAL Todd Manning -RH. I stopped watching OLTL when tsj ‘took over’. It was a slap in the face by OLTL writers to the viewers. Luckily RH returned and the rest is history. Good riddance tsj as Todd.

i don't blame tsj for working with the material he was given, nor do i think he's a bad actor. it must have sucked for him to be told that the work he'd done for eight years was suddenly retconned, and for that, i sympathize with him. however, like pretty much everyone else has already said, what endeared rh's todd to audiences more than anything else was his soul and sense of humor and comedic timing, which i think tsj lacked in his performance. todd is a character who was introduced to audienced as a douchey frat boy and a serial rapist. and it takes *a lot* to make a character like that appealing. but what made todd work wasn't just the writing, but that he could make you laugh, smile, and see a deeper side to him in this really simplistic, almost childlike way (like when he's palling around with sam). he had this vulnerability that made you almost forget the kind of person he really was until he did the next horrific thing. tsj never really managed to capture that vulnerability, so all you're left with is todd's rage and abusive behavior. even after todd/victor was raped, you never saw him work through it emotionally. add to that the fact that the writers had him do things the "real" todd would never do (i.e. the re-rape, hitting starr while she was pregnant, etc.), and all you're left with is an asshole who the audience is never invited to connect with. that's my two cents anyway.
It's funny watching this currently and noticing all the red flags I've never noticed before. For starters, being called a "freak" seems to get to him as it always has... that and Scarface.
Trevor should have stayed as Walker Lawrence. roger brought this darkness to the role of todd.a man beyond redemption. But his children always brought the light he needed. while trevor played todd as a rich entitled jerk
As much as I love RH, I always hated when he used a gun. That wasn't his style. He always seemed so desperate when he held a gun. I was used to Todd always being in control.

Not to put heat on the second todd because he was cute and he was a good actor. But he was not Todd Manning. He never feel that role for me and I can never taken serious in that role. And I stoped watching

TSJ/Todd lacks the depth and complexity of RH/Todd. There's a kindness to RH's TRUE Todd that made the character so compelling.

I only saw TSJ bc I started it later in the show. As I grew and watched it later RH really made him both bad and good.
