Oh! The nostalgia! I have these guys from my dad, who bought them back in 70’s. They were real cheap according to him. Or cheap before the oli crisis what skyrocketed the prizes of model kits (what ended his ”rough” plays on his Desert English men, Britannian commandoes, and Americans… namely shooting at them with 6mm pellet gun… he also evolved his model building hobby into making dioramas. This story being said, I recommend to listen at your old man for their childhood lives since you may end up surprized.)
@@Comanderwolf123Unfortunately, he cannot remember. Says the valur of the money was different back then. (Finnish marks, compared to Euros we use now.)😅
Great video, thanks for posting! As a kid the German Africa Corps set was my absolute favourite. I have inherited most of my figures from my elder brother. All figures I had were of soft plastic and there was no risk of any breaking parts back in the days.
@@ArmyStopmotions I'm a big fan of your work and it's great I love the videos I'm from Brazil and my dream and I got money to import the japanese soldiers Bmc toys
Great set! It really encapsulates what ww2 soldiers may have looked like. The different poses could be great for a stomotion video. The histroy of these figures is immense and rich. The broken gun barrels is one of the biggest downsides of the set but could make for a great soldier whos gun may have broken in battle. Great set overall 10/10 video!
I have two sets that look like them, one I do have an Airfix Afrika Korps set but there smaller figures (scale 1/72) and a bucket with green and gray soldiers the gray ones are German Afrika Korps but they are Airfix based figures. The Germans are molded with there original helmets
I'll never understand why Hornby, the co. that owns Airfix, puts these guys out in hard plastic. Maybe they are just assuming that we're all model-kit builders out here and don't understand that some of us are just into the toy figures themselves. I have a big batch of Airfix reissues from the last century when the reissues were done in France in waxy soft plastic---really nice. I have Afrika Corps, Paratroops, Mountain/Ski Troops, and Regular Infantry in gray and tan or peanut-butter color. But I think Matchbox also makes nice Germans too. Too bad the mold for the great Marx Germans was lost......they may have been the best "Krauts" of all!
These are very good for stop motion, and they were made with soft plastic in the past, Big mistake of Airfix that they reproducing their sets in hard plastic.
i really dont like how there all wearing long sleeve tunics with field caps matchbox did a better variety give theirs shorts rolled sleeves helmets etc aswell as long sleeve and field caps

How much were they in the 70s?

Nice review of a great set with some excellent background music!
One of my favorite sets.
Oh ya
I love those airfix figures
I love the poses and there uniforms
The original issues from the 1970's and early 1980's were the better soft plastic. The newer figures are fragile as heck.
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
very cool my friend is there this 1/32 scale japanese brand?
Idk any Japanese produces other than Tamiya but they mainly create 1/35 scale stuff

What date are you gonna make a stop motion video?
Still waiting for Airfix to send me my order

I recently picked up some matchbox sets and they are soft plastic that lets the guns bend without snapping.
Matchbox is also reissuing sets but in soft plastic
