Just an idea, consider making a “Demon Mama Debate Bingo Game”. You could make randomized bingo cards for you and the rest of chat for things like dodging a basic question, switching into attack mode, repeating same point in ramble, etc. I think it would make some of the unproductive debates more entertaining
I worked as butcher, when I was working it was a busy shop we got 2-3 cows in a day and 7 pigs, you wouldn't really look every single day but go off previous weeks or if it was a holiday like Christmas you would obviously order more, Beef lasts about 3-5 days in the right temperature assuming you're not dry aging it in which case it can last for a long time but you need a market for that and the sooner you sell it the better because meat loses water over time and this loss can cut into profits
@@chanr9531 As an amateur conspiracy theorist this actually goes deeper than you think. Destiny intentionally empowered Vaush into becoming a content creator with a lot of similar policy positions but still kept that radical lefty slant alive so Vaush would create someone as braindead as DM. That "anonymous fan" that bought IrishLaddie a microphone for a streaming set up was Destiny in disguise. For just the cost of a microphone and a few discussions worth of time he created an endless react content machine.
I hate most of your takes as well Hunter but you could at least strive to not act this shitty in a debate. Answering simple questions and being respectful is the bare minimum.
I legitimately struggle to get through a single video with her. it always derails into this victim discussion about semantics and debate tactics instead of the topic.
It's rare that someone's stupid comments actually leave me slack-jawed. DM's "aspirationally vegan" after going on a diatribe about "vegan advocates" not going far enough curb-stomped my mouth wide open
I find the whole "vegans are so annoying and self-righteous" scream after failing to even engage in this conversation on any meaningful level really really sad to see. I feel second-hand embarrassment for her.
@@johnatola7731 tbh I do think began advocates can be insufferable, I can't really deny that part because there is a certain discourse that is promoted in vegan circles that is both just counterproductive but also just plain annoying and not forceful but almost? If you join a vegan group on any site they're almost always going to be completely toxic to everyone. There are vegans who take issue with mock meats - like what? One can say it's kind of odd/messed up that there are plenty of people who know it's wrong to kill animals but still want the feeling of eating meat at times - but it's one of those things that I think only a vegan can really get that upset about and it's extremely insular for people to take issue with the existence of mock meat and people who like eating meat wanting to still enjoy the feeling of it. I don't understand what they think they are achieving in getting mad at people who are either trying vegan mock meat foods or are newly vegan and eat it, who gives a flying fvck if someone likes meat so they want to replicate the feeling? Bad bunny's community is a good example of a toxic vegan community, and she is the specific example I have because I used to watch her content and I was vegan for a few years by the time I started watching her streams but literally everyone started scolding ppl (including me) just because we were okay with the existence of mock meat. A month or so went by and I showed up to a stream and bad bunny was talking about her favorite mock meats lol, so she and her favorite chatters we're scolding people for eating food *they all eat too* . It was complete garbage. Her community is toxic af and it's like the perfect example of typical vegan groups, people can be insane over the most minute sh!t and k hate it, so many people give it a bad name.
@@johnatola7731 that isn't to defend demonmama. She is basically as insufferable as it gets - DM is a bad faith actor and just all around I think she has really suspicious goals for her platform. She kinda seems like she wants to *pretend* to be a lefty but ultimately just wants to start a community of braindead followers.
*Online leftists are the people most likely to ensure leftism never becomes a political reality.* I dunno, it kinda makes sense if you shrink the focus down to the most zealous and absurd group. “Vegans” are not akin to online leftists, maybe you could argue online vegan extremists or something, but not just blanket “vegans”. Either way, DM lost whatever aspirational charity possible in our minds. DM did the auditory equivalent of shitting on the table then calling you Giga-Hitler for wearing socks.
Love it when people who rage about social issues think that vegans complaining are cringey. You are allowed to be mad but vegans are not? What the hell
Don't like vegan Gains by any measure, but I one hundred percent believe DM called VG a weird freak to get him to make fun of their appearance to call him a transphobe.
Having your gall bladder out shouldn’t be causing chronic stomach problems unless you are stupid or just don’t care to change your diet. DM should talk to an unlicensed chemist to get some bathtub meds for their idiocy
she self diagnosed her gallbladder removal, and she supports my decision to diagnose myself with the same. I meet all the symptoms so why not? My medication was made in a premium bathtub with LOADS of engineering firms to inspect them, so it's safe.
The dietary advice she would have gotten after having her gallbladder removed would be to avoid red meat, fats (trans and saturated fats primarily, but all fats in excess can aggrivate the symptoms she's talking about), dairy products and animal protein (plant based protein will be easier for her to digest). If she keeps eating fatty meats and dairy products, she likely has to take medication to keep her from having chronic diarrhea, nausea, and abdominal pain. Cholestyramine resin is what they use in my country, but I don't think it has FDA approval, so there's likely a similar substitute in the US. A vegan diet would honestly be ideal for her condition....
Chronic digestive problems are pretty common after gallbladder removal. Eating a vegan diet is actually a good idea to help with those symptoms. However, even if someone does everything perfectly, some people's digestive tract will still have problems.
i had my gallbladder removed. i was told that my ability to digest fat is reduced and i should not binge red meat. there is nothing about a removed gallbladder that would prevent veganism. in fact i am pretty sure that cutting down meat as much as possible is what you should do. i am stilm eating tons of meat and my stomach sometimes gets upset, but i have never had problems because i was not eating enough chicken or whatever.
If Demonmama won't kick out a guest so they look like they're running away, and Infrared won't leave a convo after even 4 hours, I'd love to see Demonmama invite Infrared on for a debate.
“Do you like drinking alcohol?” “Do I like drinking alcohol? Like what - Well, I mean, what do you mean like? Like as in it tastes good or like as in - because morally, alcohol - so like, basically when I was growing up, right, alcohol was just everywhere. I remember it super clearly. And like, so I used to have some, and you know, it was just something I enjoyed occasionally, on the side. I wasn’t of age or anything, but I drank it sometimes. I didn’t really mess with the taste of it back then. Do I like it now? I mean, taste wise, maybe? It depends on what it is, right? But do I like it recreationally, you know, as like a means of actual enjoyment as a thing of itself? See this is why Im not sure you can - how do I put this? It’s just a really difficult thing to process but to restate your question, do I like alcohol? I mean, sure?”
This must be a "beginning of the debate" response because, towards the middle or end, there are a lot more bad faith accusations and attacks thrown in the meaningless, weasely rambling.
I was stunned when she said that, when for 99% of the population, she’s the weird freak. Debating people on twitch probably gets you that moniker with 70% of the population already.
I work at a supermarket, what Destiny says about meat supply is true. The process for pre-packaged meat, just like with any other goods is mostly automated, the computer makes calculations upon around a certain ammount of days worth of sales to get an average of how much was sold and then decides the ammount of goods to be delivered. Basic supply and demand. Our store is big enough to have our own butchers (They order already slaughtered halfs of pigs). It is considered fresh meat, and its shelf life is 1-2 days, with what is not sold in the first day sometimes used to make "longer standing" products such as sausages. They do their orders on their own based on their own calculations on what will be needed, if they get it wrong they can either order too many pigs and waste money or order too little and not make enough money. It also doesnt help that customers can be fickle and you cant plan for their every demand. If tommorow everyone stopped buying meat, the shops would not stock it, we sometimes remove very long-standing goods just because there are not enough sales because there is also an additional thing to be considered, each store has limited space to stock its goods. So if you are stocking a product that earns you very little profit, it can be taken out for something else. Companies can also pay for stock space, they literally pay to have a certain place in the store to hold their goods. Suffice to say, Demonmama has never worked in her entire fucking life in my opinion, since she doesnt know whats going on in the real world.
Also work at a supermarket just at distribution for a large amount of stores. Sometimes they will experiment with batches of products, like for example vegan burgers, some time ago we started with maybe about 20 cases to distribute to 200+ stores, (and we're now at a volume to maybe a single box per store). They would push items that they're not sure of a market to the biggest stores and see how it sells. Sometimes it works, and oftentimes it doesn't. They don't continue to move items to stores that do not sell. I can only really remember occasional successes because I see so much goddamn product every day but similarly I couldn't tell you the amount of things that were failures. Many people are very set in their routines and what foods they like at prices they like, foods will wax and wane at the whim of the public focus or season.
Hey I have a question if you're willing to answer, if your store puts a reduced price sticker on meat when it's about to expire, does buying it then affect the calculations in the same way as full-price meat does?
@@soakupthenoise Apologies could you rephrase that question? I do not fully understand it. As far as fresh meat goes it never gets reduced price stickers put on it. Only pre-packaged meat, and basically any sealed products get reduced price stickers near their expiration date. If that was the question you were asking.
@@Andrius971 Hey, two years later here it sounds like they are asking if there would be a difference in the way the store tracks sales when the items are marked down vs full price with the meat thing just being an example. Essentially: Are the records the items sold or the total price of the items sold? I can see the point in trying to keep track of whether or not an item was picked up at full or partial price, but then again it only speaks to thrifty shopping and not necessarily demand since someone who needs a ham would just buy a ham at the most affordable price typically.
@@bigben3089 I don't even understand why so many comments are even calling him a her. It makes sense for destiny to go along but not us. Richard has his faults, but he's been debating this same topic for as long as I can remember. It was disappointing that she wouldn't even participate with his lines of questioning. She just refused to engage & then insulted the guy
@@scarletsletter4466 well the ethical way would be destiny’s argument which is running through the consistency test and accepting the reductios. If you’re consistent, it’s ethical but I think you might be committed to some pretty psychotic reductios.
she wants her cake and eat it too. she seems to recognize that killing animals is bad but wants also no moral culpability when eating meat. i would consider myself an aspirational vegan, as in i recognize the moral case but my will is not strong enough to cut meat just yet. but Demon mama wants to see herself as a moral paragon while not actually doing the work for it.
@@kettenschlosd Absolutely. There's no shame in acknowledging you're participating in a moral wrong and saying you want to improve but haven't managed to yet. It is hard. I would literally kill my self from embarrassment if I was demon mama halfway through this video. Also I thought demon mama was using, "vegan gains." As a hyperbolic insult, but then I realized it actually was vegan gains and that I'm not used to vegan gains being this calm and collected in discussion. He's pretty much always been calm and mature in debates. Most certainly in comparison to the people he was debating. Retards will retard though. Evident by this comment section. (i don't like VG btw)
And then when you stand up to her and assert that she needs to actually let you get your point out despite her rambling for days on end she plays the victim, while simultaneously being really aggressive. This is honestly a spectacular person.
As someone who works for a company who identifies slave labour in manufacturer supply chains, on behalf of and paid for by the manufacturers themselves no less, it's very surprising to me that every single item in my house can be directly linked back to slave labour. I want to see Ask Yourself run the “name the trait” argument on Demon Mama. I can already predict her dipping and dodging all the questions and going on long monologues and tangents to try and steer the debate off course
I have the exact same question. Who watches Demon mama, and un ironically says "yeah, these are brilliant arguments"? Demon mama is my favorite lolcow atm.
I mean, to be fair, kind of right? Like no one drank soda before it was invented. If 100% of the world didnt eat meat, some people would still try (Maybe not for long) to test the market with the new product. No one's buying your handmade bracelet until you make one and put it up for sale at a market.
@@Eris_Mourn Well no. I get what your saying is every product has to start somewhere. But most products don’t just show up in super markets usually there’s a ton of market research done beforehand. Most products don’t just start by being sold in supermarkets. And also that’s not even relevant because meat isn’t a new product, it is a current product that would be seeing a decrease in demand. So if literally everyone stopped buying meat, within like a month supermarkets would probably stop buying it completely or would reduce the amount of meat they had to minimal quantities and writhing 3 months it would probably be gone completely.
@@AdamX1124 True. That's fair! I guess my point was less about the super markets and more that the industry probably is not going to completely vanish. Farmers markets, butchers, hunters ect would still exist in some way. I don't want to pretend that it would have no effect on supermarkets or anything. But supply and demand are not the only variables at play is all. For example, the store I worked at constantly ordered a specific sandwich, even though it NEVER sold (I did the inventory counts and closed the store so I know).Sure we didn't pull more than one out of the freezer, and it eventually did stop getting offered at our location, but the huge multi-bill corp was willing for that loss on one item because the margin if it did eventually sell in our area was worth it in their eyes. I probably could have worded my argument better. Thanks!
@@Eris_Mourn sure I agree that there are certain items that might stick around like that. However if literally everyone stopped eating meat. The factories that supply the meat that no one is buying would also shut down. While that sandwich didn’t sell at your store but it probably sold at other stores and the company that made it(or the materials for it) probably still has other items that made money If everyone stopped eating meat. It’s not just that the supermarkets would stop stocking it, the supermarkets wouldn’t even be able to order at because the suppliers would stop supplying it. And if there was any meat left there would be so few suppliers left it would be too expensive to even be worth stocking.
The word salad bit gets really exhausting. I had this issue with research papers in uni, but i have never thought until not long ago that people can talk like that in real life.
She drives me fucking nuts, "In this specific hypothetical would you go vegan if x were to happen?" -VG, "Well I just bought a lot of meat so I don't think I could." -DM. Engage with the conversation instead of rambling on and on and on in order to not take a position on the topic.
I think she was also wanting to do povertyface by stubbornly claiming she personally somehow couldnt afford to be vegan under any hypothetical argument. "What am I supposed to do, throw away perfectly edible human leftovers?"
That’s not even a ramble though. It’s her admitting how utterly morally bankrupt she is. She considers going to the store to buy different meat, or eating something else entirely, so inconvenient that she would rather just eat human meat. That’s insane.
this is so frustrating to listen to i cant imagine genuinely believing that eating meat is morally reprehensive and someone says "i agree. but youre also wrong". and just completely ignores you. i feel bad for this guy.

Go hard for 4 weeks and the cravings for meat will stop. I actually realized I craved the flavor, meaning I could eat substitutes, easily. I eat vegan hotdogs on the reg, pig-free. Delicious.

I just don't even understand what DM's position is. She said she thinks we should affect cultural change rather than focus on the individual, but then she says meat will never be banned? What, so what is the point of the cultural change? If meat will not ever be legistlated away, then clearly the only option that is left is for consumers to stop contributing to the production of these products. I would say that would put even more moral culpability on the individual, because she admits that it will never change by legislation.
This is indeed the worst part of her argumentation: Everything DM would wanted to be changed culturally and/or socially can be hand-waved away via the same logic.

It's rare that someone's stupid comments actually leave me slack-jawed. DM's "aspirationally vegan" after going on a diatribe about "vegan advocates" not going far enough curb-stomped my mouth wide open

@@johnatola7731 ironically she does seem to aspire to be someone people hate, so her aspirational vegan comment makes sense now 😆
@@johnatola7731 tbh I do think began advocates can be insufferable, I can't really deny that part because there is a certain discourse that is promoted in vegan circles that is both just counterproductive but also just plain annoying and not forceful but almost?
DemonMama: "Vegans are the people most likely to ensure that animals never get liberation"

I blame JK Rowling, and her terf army.
However, even if someone does everything perfectly, some people's digestive tract will still have problems.
i had my gallbladder removed. i was told that my ability to digest fat is reduced and i should not binge red meat. there is nothing about a removed gallbladder that would prevent veganism. in fact i am pretty sure that cutting down meat as much as possible is what you should do. i am stilm eating tons of meat and my stomach sometimes gets upset, but i have never had problems because i was not eating enough chicken or whatever.

objective truth
@@nameless_flash What objective truth are you referring to?
DM is terminally online.
@@Andrius971 Hey, two years later here
it sounds like they are asking if there would be a difference in the way the store tracks sales when the items are marked down vs full price with the meat thing just being an example. Essentially: Are the records the items sold or the total price of the items sold? I can see the point in trying to keep track of whether or not an item was picked up at full or partial price, but then again it only speaks to thrifty shopping and not necessarily demand since someone who needs a ham would just buy a ham at the most affordable price typically.
obviously DM is not a vegan, because it requires putting some actual work (at least in the beginning) and not just virtue signalling

While that sandwich didn’t sell at your store but it probably sold at other stores and the company that made it(or the materials for it) probably still has other items that made money
If everyone stopped eating meat. It’s not just that the supermarkets would stop stocking it, the supermarkets wouldn’t even be able to order at because the suppliers would stop supplying it. And if there was any meat left there would be so few suppliers left it would be too expensive to even be worth stocking.

The idea that you could somehow think that out of no where asserting that someone is okay with slave labor then other people assaulting children then themselves assaulting childen then paying for indecent depictions of children is actually a dunk on someone is so extremely rediculous that I worry if I myself have thought other people have said things that they didn't. How absolutely absurd was this?!

@@sunkillsmoon Depends on the context (sometimes his cadence gets really wonky for 2x speed) but generally it just takes practice. The real fun is listening to him react to a video he put on 2x speed.

I live in Texas. I work overtime. I stream. I’m vegan. The hardest part, was the first month transitioning away from fast food restaurants. It takes about a month for your stomach microbes 🦠 from that food to no longer give you that craving. Go vegan for a month if you want to try to transition. Go hard for 4 weeks and the cravings for meat will stop.
I actually realized I craved the flavor, meaning I could eat substitutes, easily. I eat vegan hotdogs on the reg, pig-free. Delicious.
I kinda agree. Meat is like sugar, once you wean off it, you crave it less.
👍
I found the same thing, though way easier for me on the social aspect (I live in a politically progressive city). For me, the first 3-4 months were the toughest. Mostly just discovering new recipes and learning nutrition stuff.
Is it tough being vegan in texas from a social perspective?
@@JulioNicoletti It can be in small towns if I have to be on the road, but the cities are surprisingly progressive. San Antonio and Austin, for instance, both have really good all-vegan restaurants. Lucky me.
My wife’s father was a big oil guy in this one little town. Hates my guts to this day.
Mashallah brother
I love the "I don't think anyone is morally obligated to not do something" because of how easy it is to shatter, yet people like DemonMama will dig their heels in the mud to not admit it's a stupid argument.
Seeing Destiny's grandchild (Vaush's daughter) debate against Vegan Gains is a very surreal feeling.
Also, the volumes are all fucked up. I can barely hear Demonmama over Destiny screaming into his mic 24/7.
IDK if they are in the same family I feel like my two (divorced) parasocial dads would make DemonMamma as a daughter. Sure is one fucked up family. XD
@@tianamaycry "IDK. If they are in the same family, I feel like my two (divorced) parasocial dads would make DemonMamma as a daughter. Sure is one fucked up family. XD"
That first part tripped me up. At first, I thought you were saying you didn't know/weren't sure if they are in the same family in the metaphor. That said, I prefer the three-generation model lol
You actually want to hear DM speak? You poor soul
I don’t think I’ve ever seen a person that destiny genuinely despises as much as DemonMama.
Not even hassan?
Destiny seems to love to hate Demon mama. Then there are people like Kyle kulinski, or Lance, who he just hates.
@@alex-qd6of It's his child/grandchild (depending on which destiny-voosh metaphor you subscribe to), so there has to be some love in there somewhere. Such as "love to hate." 🙃

You know the person debating is bad faith when even vegan gains walks away looking like reasonable one
History's longest no.
Are you vegan?
"Like I mean I don't know what you mean when you mean vegan do you mean like do I always eat it or I mean I'm I'm aspirationally vegan err I've been very slowly and surely clipping meat of of my diet but you know its slow going I struggle with it specifically because over time I've had a lot of dietary issues on a personal level that doesn't mean I don't try it's definitely something I would like to but aspirationally so I've been in a slow process of cutting as much meat from my diet"
When DM answered no to "Would you go vegan if the only alternative was to eat human meat?", the conversation was over. Utterly dishonest, there's no way anybody sincerely holds that moral belief
Or...and hear me out...DM would be one of those post apocalypse survivors that try to lure others to their totally safe campsite.
Destiny's sheer ENDURANCE suffering through DM "debates" is insane.
Seems to be thoroughly enjoying himself. Never seen him smile so much
41:41 As someone whose an assistant manager at a grocery store, we write our orders daily and get trucks every day where either myself or the other manager has to edit and fiddle with numbers given our sales numbers, corporate grills our asses on waste 100% which is why its important to keep track of that shit.
I've wrote this long ass comment about history and shit, however when I saw Demonmama was debating Vegan Gains I realized that it didn't matter, since I then knew she lost the second she said she was an 'aspirational vegan'.
the “reverse vaush” sounds like a forbidden wrestling technique
This is the first time I’ve ever listened to a vegan debate and wanted to side with the vegan. Jesus.
Right into my feeeeeeeed
Just watched this while high and it was the funniest time I’ve had in a while
I know Vegan Gains has a history of seeming psychotic and being batshit insane but i don’t think much people could debate him on veganism, much less DM
He chilled out a while ago. He's still a very upset unhappy person, and I disagree with him a lot, but it doesn't come out anymore with him spazzing out, whipping out knives, and threatening violence. He's much more calm to his credit
@@DarkestKnightshade theack of meat in his diet is a direct cause of his unhappiness.
My favorite debate he did was championing animal rights while keeping his dog locked inside a cage behind him for 3 hours.

Destiny fighting the rune bear in ER while covering a debate in veganism is pretty funny.
This debate was a certified hood classic.
Still is
That bear was fucking ruthless man. Just beating the dogshit out of destiny

Dont let this debate distract you from destiny getting bear hugged for an hour
I just don't even understand what DM's position is. She said she thinks we should affect cultural change rather than focus on the individual, but then she says meat will never be banned? What, so what is the point of the cultural change? If meat will not ever be legistlated away, then clearly the only option that is left is for consumers to stop contributing to the production of these products. I would say that would put even more moral culpability on the individual, because she admits that it will never change by legislation.
This is indeed the worst part of her argumentation:
Everything DM would wanted to be changed culturally and/or socially can be hand-waved away via the same logic.
Destiny trying to slay this one bear most of the debate Is a great metaphor for this debate.
I feel like I've outpaced him intellectually

Does her audience not see how bad she is?
May just be there for the trainwrecks.
They're probably as bad as she is, only without the clout.
the legend has it that demonmama is still talking to this day and that richard is still waiting for his turn to speak...
There is a guy called SunnyV2. Some people might know him. Very successful content creator but it seems people watch their videos with their brains turned off cause there is so much factually wrong in a lot of his videos.
True and based, even though it's completely irrelevant to this video.
@@wisemage0 It was just an example to answer to the question: "Why do people watch this person?" Sometimes it doesn't matter if someone is wrong or not. Sometimes it is just being liked by a group of people.
34:33 What a thought provoking prime example of utter and complete lack of self-awareness! This happens when no one pushes back on your beliefs and thus the person in question lives their life in a bubble and consequently is never forced to any self-reflection! I like how - at the end - the person here in question even responds ever so *confidently* _"YES!! You ARE a weird freak!!"_
The sheer confidence in that outburst at the end is truly eye-opening about the degree of blindness that human beings can reach. You cannot even become mad. It is like a dry, clinical observation of how far astray the human mind can degrade to.
It’s honestly a talent to be able to talk for so long without really saying anything, and the rare moments where she is actually saying something you can tell how little she understands the topic, all this while simultaneously acting hyper intelligent and smug. Unbelievably irritating.
Ah I remember a time where Vegan Gains seemed unhinged. If only we could go back to the good ol days

As someone who has worked in several grocery stores specifically in fresh produce and in meat, from a local “Organic”(Not everything in that store was organic even though our bosses made us label them so) to Wal-Mart. And he is completely right about pretty much everything he’s saying about grocery stores. Also Id recommend really washing your produce thoroughly before you serve and eat it lol the shit I’ve seen
I've always wondered if food labeled organic, was really organic.
@@alex-qd6of all i know is, organic banana's taste better than the regular ones.
@@alex-qd6of if you can’t tell it apart than it’s not organic. Most organic fruits and vegetables are smaller, and don’t last long at all before spoiling. From what I understand GMO’s aren’t even bad for you and in fact they’re better for both the food supply industry and whoever eats them. They’re more nutritious as far as vitamins that otherwise wouldn’t be in them, they’re bigger and they last longer. So they don’t waste nearly as much. What I learned from working in an organic store is that it’s all a sham to overcharge food. And sometimes you’re overpaying for something that isn’t even organic and gmo free. But like I said gmo’s aren’t necessarily a bad thing
@@alex-qd6of try asking your local organic grocery store workers separately where certain products come from lol that would be my advice, if it doesn’t add up then they’re lying
@@alex-qd6of but also don’t take it out on them, they have to lie. Even though I didn’t. I told the truth, and I even told my boss, have someone else do the labels because I wouldn’t.
