The '59 is the Impala gold standard, and this example is so beautifully done. Honestly, I'd be scared to drive it. That era really reflects the enthusiasm the buying public had for rockets, missiles and the space program. Thanks so much for sharing man!!
When the show, Iron Resurrection, built this Chevy, it was for a customer. I guess Shorty couldn't live without her. He even says on the show how much he'd love to own her. I never gave much thought to those cars, until I watched that episode! Thanks Scottie, for giving us a closeup look at a VERY cool ride. Peace brother
I felt jst like you! After hearing Shorty explain the design it kinda open my eyes on how unique & IMO beautiful that design really is. I became a fan of the 59 & jst recently bought one!
@Edris Perales congratulations! I wish I would've been aware of these cool rides years ago. I passed on a few, now they've skyrocketed in value. Good luck with your recent purchase my friend 👍
Absolutely most beautiful car, my dream car... Even though I have a 1964 Convertible impala, I would trade in a heartbeat.... That's right heartbeat of America. Chevrolet♥️
@@ScottieDTV looking at the dash and the wings look like an airplane .or as they be described a big boat speed or cruise boat.third, i think I need 2 parking lots and its beautiful
Thanks so much Scottie, this is one Beautiful Impala Bubble Top. What can I say it speaks for itself. Bubble's are the Baddest in my eyes. This one was done up to keep it lookin original. Just look!!!
Love the color , this impala the 59 isn’t a car it’s a piece of art!! I’m here in Cali wish I could find 1 in a barn , not lowered or hydraulics and not have to take a 2nd mortgage to buy!!! But until that day comes I’ll just dream!!
I know I've viewed this Impala before, it's just too Cool to walk by. Impala's have always been a favorite of mine, especially the bubble top. If you shoot em I'll watch em Thank's Scottie!!
A job well done and thanks for teaching me about that little moulding for the factory two tone paint and if I win the lottery I'm going to make you an offer you can't refuse I just love your 59 Impala lucky man!
Yea man... That is a beauty. I dig the stock look of the 59 and 60 Impalas. The lowered stance really adds to it looking badass and sleek. I remember someone telling me years ago that the wings on the 59 and 60 actually caused the rear to lift at speed causing them to basically fly off course. lol I dunno how much truth there is to that. But I've seen some really nice ones and this one is right at the top. Great that He kept the stock look on the interior with very little custom work done to it. Great car great colors.
“Iron resurrection” just aired here in Oz with the full restoration of this beauty. Wow, what artists! From a rusty, incomplete, no chassis, firewall back, trunk lidless pile of junk to this show stopper! The guys who worked on this are so clever, cutting out the holed, pitted, crumbling curves, bends, and hundreds of shapes to replace. This doesn’t show just how beautiful the colour is. It should’ve been shown with the hood up to show off the colour matched engine. Well done Iron Resurrection crew.
Still catching up on videos, ONE BAD 59 IMPALA, SHORTY knows all these IMPALA'S ,THE 59 IMPALA IS BEAUTIFUL, So proud for SHORTY ,he deserves this car, he has come along way, watch his show every week, like I say you find the best, one of my favorites here SHORTY AND HIS 59 IMPALA, THANKS SCOTTIE.
The body was probably designed by Harley Earl, and , or "Bunky" Knudsen. I love the old Impalas, as well. This one is top notch! Shorty is one of the best painters that ever lived!
I put Valspar base coat on my 66 mustang and HOK USC01 clear. I have shot many many brands of clear over the years...starting with PPG DAU 75 in 1977. Of all the clears I have shot I like the HOK USC01 the best of all of them....wished I would have found it earlier in my career . Color choice on this car is fantastic.
Scottie, you always showcase the nice cars and the ones i like , i repost the vids to my face book all the time and get a thumbs or a like thanks again brutha.
Damn Scottie D. Shorty can lay down that paint and it was a phenomenal build...Enjoyed how this build went and have a Happy Thanksgiving love all your content!!!
That's one sweet ride there nicely done love that pain. Shorty and the guys sure know how build custom cars. It's been a bit since I've seen the show. Happy Thanksgiving Scottie.
Nice car shorty! Can’t wait until I get my 66 impala done! Keep up the good work Scottie! I’ve been getting very good ideas for my car watching the channel. You got me spending thousands 😂
Used to have a '59 Biscayne, 348, 4 speed car. Electric blue with white bubble top, slammed to the pavement. Such a good looking car. But these have rear suspension / frame issues. They have a Panhard rod at a 45 degree angle off the top of the frame above the rear axle that is notorious for tearing out of the frame. My car had the rear frame repaired a few times and it had torn out again and I sold the car. They really need a 4 link conversion to correct this problem. Still a beautiful design.
I had a 59 Impala myself back in the 60s and went in the Army and parents sold my car while I was overseas. I think they thought I wasn't going to come back.
My brother in laws cousin just gave his 1959 Chevy impala to his daughter this year. He bought that car the year she was born like 40 year's ago in Mexico.
Bad ass .. reason why the WING RACE .. was actually we were starting to go to the moon so yeah even the cars were taking the shape to fly .. sweet car .
This car built on Iron Resurrection wasn’t shown as a car owned by Shorty, it was a friend of his. But the guy did say if he ever sold it Shorty would have first dibs on it.
I really like the 58 2 dr hardtop. And then the next year GM came out with this. Pretty unusual not to run that body style for a year of two.. The 59 is just as stunning and artful. In 1958 I was 8, my dad bought a 58 Ford 2 dr hartop with a 352.. Our neighbor at the time was a salesman for a GM dealer. One day a brought home a 58 chev 2dr hardtop....red with red interior, and a 348. I looked at that car slack jawed and thought....Dad WTF were you thinking buying the 58 Ford??. That language was not in my vocabulary at then...that came later. The 60 is pretty similar but I love those owl eye taillights. I have had Fords most of my life but I like all cars...GM, Chrysler, Hudson's, Studebakers..the list goes on.
Hey is that Javier “Shorty” Ponce from Iron Resurrection? I know it is. I love that show! 59 is one of my favorite years. 58, 59 and 61 are my favorite years. Joe Martin from that show has a beautiful copper and black 60 Impala.
@@ScottieDTV Hey, thanks for the reply. I love that show. Everyone on it is great. There are a lot of car shows where the main guy seems like he’s trying too hard to be “cool”.
