- Dad bought the car around 1960 and passed away about 13 years ago; son got a hold of Shawn to build this beautiful car. The Ferrari red color on this car is DEEP, and Shawn tells us how he got it that way. Checkout one of the nicest Impala's we've seen!

My very 1st Car was a '60 Impala 2dr Coupe HT with the 253 cu.in. engine and automatic trans. Black & White 2 toned exterior with red & white interior. Bought it in June 1968 ,... owner was shipping out to Vietnam . Loved that car !

Around the age of 21 and in the AF, had a nice red 289 cc '60 Impala convertible with a white top. Sure miss that that car.
I had one of those in 63 and 348 4bbl. White impala awsome cool car at high school. Still beautiful. Imho.

I HAD A 1960 FACTORY RED IMPALA DUNTOV COUPE.IT HAD THE DUNTOV VERSION OF THE 348 AT 335HP 4SPEED POSI DELETE ALL POWER /STEERING BRAKES WINDOWS SEAT ETC. NO PADDED DASH.AND THEY WERE NOT CALLED BUBBLE TOPS TILL 1961 WHEN THEY DOWNSIZED THE GM LINEUP AND ALL HARDTOPS APPEARED LIKE A GLASS BUBBLE .IN ACTUALITY THERE WAS NO DIFFERENCE IN THE 60--61 TOPS JUST THE APPEARANCE
The 1960 Chevrolet is my favorite year and model car. Just like this one I love red with Black interior with a 283 three speed on the tree overdrive.

'60 Impalas were never considered to be bubbletops , those were the '61 Impalas and some '62 Bel Airs .

The lowered ride height and wheels ruin a classic. I confess that I'm a purist where these cars are concerned.
A gorgeous car that has been made to look terrible almost sitting down on the ground with ghetto hood-rat wheels...what a shame.
