    You can adjust/align the limb pockets too with the inset grub screws on the side of the riser. Mine were slightly loose when I got it & tightening them quietened it down a bit & a pair of beaver balls made it much better.

    • @ArminHirmer
      @ArminHirmer  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      sure you can. I simply think bearpaw should put a note in the box to tell you what to do. as they did with their new version of the field stars. not everyone knows how to deal with ILF. thanks for watching

  • @space.youtube
    @space.youtube 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    If shooting split finger I'd be inclined to dial in some positive tiller to quieten it down and get rid of some of that reverberation.
    Some bare shaft tuning would be useful in ascertaining the right arrow and the correct nock height.
    Finally, maybe some string silencers, but if tuned correctly they may not be necessary.

    • @ArminHirmer
      @ArminHirmer  6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Of course one can and I did simply adjust the brace height a bit. Now it is silent. My grape is that one does not get any info from the company...

    • @space.youtube
      @space.youtube 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ArminHirmer I see your point but manufacturers are fraught trying to explain complex tuning concepts to archers who may or may not have any idea what they're trying to achieve. Particularly with mid range bows that new archers with questionable technique could buy as their entry to trad archery. You know what they say about a little knowledge being a dangerous thing.
      Having said that, a brief description of which screw/bolt adjusts what and why would be helpful for 'new to ILF' archers :)

    • @archersnipe3855

      A traditionell Take down should be delivered , even ILF with a correct Tiller. My shadow raiser arrived with -13mm.
      Bearpaw don`t check the Raisers.Try tiller0 to+3mm....the bow is a quiet precise beast.

    • @space.youtube
      @space.youtube 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@archersnipe3855 For the bowyer to 'estimate' tiller they would need to at least ask whether you shoot split or 3 fingers under. Even then it's still just an estimate that may or may not be optimal for your specifics.

    @Burboss 6 ปีที่แล้ว +6

    looks a lot like TradTech stuff. On "humming" - pretty much every ILF bow I shot with had that (esp. metal risers). So, Limbsaver dampeners/string silencers are usually needed.

      I agree. A friend of mine shoots a traditional ILF (Hoyt if I remember correctly). Can hear him 3-4 targets away on our field course!

    Hi Armin! I really liked your video, and I think I'll watch them all. I bought an ilf shadow recently and like you I can not find any recommendation on the adjustment of the tiller. I saw that in your video you didn't adjust it. What do you think ? Is it necessary to set it like a hunting ifl? With the branch greater than 9mm more? or not ? And I want to clarify that when you loosen the tiller, no screw on the back of the bow comes to block it. What makes that when the arc is disassemble this screw can move and disrupt what you did. I don't understand what Bearpaw wanted to do. Besides, I wrote to them several times on this subject and I never had any response from them, which is not very serious. Again thank you for your videos and if you have time to answer me it would be nice!

    I'm interested to know why you talk about arrow weight more than spine ? I'm relatively new to archery and was under the impression to look at Arrow spine when choosing an arrow for a specific bow . I understand that an arrows spine will change with different tip weights and overall length! thanks... I really enjoy your style of Archery videos, keep up the great work :)

    • @ArminHirmer
      @ArminHirmer  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Spine is easy, many charts out there. For me it is more the weight and with this the lowest one can go with a bow, regarding to the bowbuilder. But from bearpaw you don't get a min gpp

    ILF isn't everyone's cup of tea. The system can be fantastic for those who needs takedown capability, or into a lot of tunning/system expansion. For some the ILF could be repelling. But these bows do shoot great, even if you get low end stuff.

    What's going on here? I recently started shooting recurve and was told I had to wear a glove and arm guard. Clearly this isn't the case. Well, thank you for the review. You're doing a great job!

    • @ArminHirmer
      @ArminHirmer  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      there are different opinions out there. the way we shoot, no armguard is needed. when you follow FITA style you might need on. And the glove is optional, some think you might have a cleaner release with it. i prefer to build up my callus :D

    Ich habe den shadow die letzten 3 Wochen ausgiebig getestet.
    Logisch knallt der bei zu leichten Pfeilen. Bearpaw gibt allerdings kein Mindestgewicht an. Das Teil hatte 6 Wochen Lieferzeit; kommt ohne Anleitung und Werkzeug. Schlecht,das sollte besser werden. Bei meinem Raiser hat die Einstellung so ziemlich gepasst, die Whisperstring ist einen Tick zu lange und muß ordentlich eingedreht werden. Achtung bei den lbs...ich habe die 40er Arme und bekomme bei 30" Auszug 46lbsauf die Waage.
    Der Bogen liegt super in der Hand lässt sich butterweich ziehen und schiebt mal richtig an. Wir schiessen ausschließlich Gelände und 3D und dafür ist er konzipiert.
    Warum ILF....ganz einfach. Parcour fertig...werkzeuglos auseinandernehmen...in den Rucksack und "nach Hause" wandern.

    • @ArminHirmer
      @ArminHirmer  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Schöner Bogen ohne Zweifel, schießt sich auch schön. Dennoch für den Preis sollte ein wenig mehr Customer Service seitens Bearpaw vorhanden sein. Ich nehme auch an, dass die Einstellungen ab Werk passen, doch man hat Schrauben und Schlüssel und sollte informiert werden wie und was und warum. Für einen Recurve sind zehn gpp Pfeile schon recht schwer. Aber klar einfach und schnell verpackt ist er :D

    J'ai acheté un shadow l'an passé et j'en suis réellement très déçu ; Bearpaw a fait un arc à la va vite . Déjà SAV de la poignée qui a fissurée au bout de trois mois d'utilisation ! Le bois de la poignée n'est pas vernis ce qui fait que la peinture part très vite , elle ne reste pas noir bien longtemps . De plus les deux petites vis latérales afin de régler l'alignement des branches sont fixées sur un bois hyper cassant !Si vous forcez un peu trop là aussi votre poignée est fendu ; Bref à ne pas acheter , vous ferez des économies et éviterez les déceptions
