Yes! Use the smaller pattern...it won't "fight" with the larger medallion design that is next to it. Lovely project and thought processes here. Now we know that we can *do* this!

Yeah, it’s hard to see those covered but I also like the coherence and balance with the new papers. Creation always involves some destruction, right?

This is genius! I love all the pockets. I am familiar with the term hidey hole in the context of playing Minecraft and digging a hole in the ground to hide from all the monsters at night. I love all your technical terms. Flippity flap and gild the lily. Yes, it must all be done. :D

This video is the best tutorial I've seen and I've been through a lot of videos. I'm just starting out with making junk journals and lapbooks. I have been apprehensive to start putting my first book together, but boy oh boy your video has boosted my confidence to get it going. Your approach and explanations are so easy to follow. Thank you!

This one reminds me of quilting as you are figuring out which side of the paper to use on the center pieces; in that you are figuring out that in order to look its best the scale should be smaller to contrast (contrasty) to compliment the other papers...funny how things can still be same only different, right?? LOL! In quilting it is done the same way, smaller prints contrast the larger ones..

If you want something that's flatter than washers, get a box of tin caps from the lumber yard (2 3/4" circles) that are used with roofing, then cut them down and round the sharp corners before using. Super inexpensive and easy when you don't need a really strong hold and don't want the bulk of washers. Cheap cuts-all scissors easily cut this tin.
