Here we are, back to where it all started. A Look Back at WWE 2K14. One of the greatest WWE games of all time, and one of my favorite WWE games ever. This game had a roster that was so stacked, it didn't make sense. Every single era was covered. From stars like Hulk Hogan, Macho Man to Bret Hart HBK etc, to of course current era stars. CM Punk, John Cena.
This game featured the first Goldberg appearance in 10 years! Add in the fact that this was built upon games such as Smackdown vs Raw 2011, WWE 12, and WWE 13. This game had it all. So lets go back one more time and take a look back at WWE 2K14

That ending made me sad because it's true, they sacrificed everything for looks even though they had something perfect in 2K14 and if they continued building on top of that we would have some of the best games year after year, 2k14 is such an amazing game, it was like THQ knew that they were going to go out of business and they must have went to Yukes and said, throw everything in and just make the most fun, repayable, epic, crazy, mode and feature heavy game you can so THQ's legacy is immortalised, like the game's tagline, BECOME IMMORTAL

@@charlottestreet3301 the gameplay was just nit fleshed out enough. 23 is an improvement but hoping 2k24 brings back some more “wrestling” in a wrestling game . Also wasn’t crazy about the arena selection selection. Quite weak. Other than that it’s quite a fun wrestling game.
Nah I was so salty about punk loosing the title to rock at the time I got the cover and immediately flipped it to the fan made Bryan Danielson Cover 💀😂😂
Probably my favorite WWE game to date, I originated on either SVR or SVR 06,, was too young to remember mainly because it wasn't one I owned, but have very little memory. 07 was the true first game I remember playing, that and 08 were blasts I had as a kid, eventually I did end up playing 09, but I barely played that again due to it not being mine and it was on the wii. I played 2010 because my mom rented it played that as much as I could until it was returned. After that I didn't really play any WWE games, but I did play All Star for a pretty long time, which I really did enjoy, but i was saddened I couldn't play any of the fun modes like Hell In A Cell and stuff, eventually my mom let me buy 2k14 and man that game I spent so many hours on and loved every second of it, so much to it and all. If this game were backwards compatible with Xbox One/PS5 I'd still be playing it today
I'm watching these videos about WWE games and man... I stopped playing in SVR 2011 (ps2 yet lol) and suddenly I became eager to play WWE 13 and 2K14 hehe. Thanks for the videos, keep going pal.

I remember I got this game for Christmas and I completed the game in under 4 days. One of the best WWE games.
I remember when I played with my uncle and he beat the streak with Daniel Bryan and we were freaking out then a few weeks later I did it with Goldberg and it didn’t feel special but it was still fun

2K14 has a roster so Fucking DAMN POWERFUL no game absolutely no Wrestling game can compare.. The gameplay is ton of fun, alot of the later issues isnt there.. Massive amount of arena.. Costum own entrance music / menu music, inferno match, mixed gender matches, 40 man royal rumble... Whats more to ask

This game was so legit it was not like SmackDown vs raw 2010 where you change the match of the money in a bank ladder match with replacing someone else and thinking if you win you could cash in the money in the bank contract . Nop but with WWE 14 it was legit you could express yourself as a wrestler winning everything thing there is to win including king of the ring! N even changing the money in the bank ladder match opponents and making them win a championship at anytime❤👌✅

Trane Crowley 2k19 was decent but it gets boring after awhile. 18 was fun asf online with friends but everything else was boring. 17 was alright. 16 was boring asf besides showcase. And I don’t even have to discuss 20.

They didn’t have a single Rey Mysterio or Sheamus match either. I’m pretty sure the mode was a tad bit rushed. Superstars wearing the wrong attires, some matches lacking cutscenes, and weird audio clips. Sometimes when playing matches in exhibition, JR will come in out of no where when playing Fandango or Big E. It’s almost like they were originally in the 30 YRS of WM mode and were cut because JR didn’t provide commentary for the base game.

I still play 2K19, but actually playing the matches is one of my least favorite features. I have much more fun downloading wrestlers and shows on Community Creations and how deeply you can customize things. It’s a great Universe Simulator but the games aren’t fun to play anymore.
I agree. It's not the best gameplay wise. But in terms of My Career Mode, 2K Showcase, and other content, it's a fun game. 2K19 is enjoyable.
Eh I don't like 2k19 is the same like the other 2k games but more updated but I respect your opinion.

2013 was a great year for 2k games in general. NBA 2k14 was also one of the best 2k basketball games

10 years later we get 2k24 with amazing graphics but a horrible showcase that your only play to unlock everything and not play for fun

WrestlingGifs, I strongly recommend you get WWE 2K16 and 2K17 for PS3 or Xbox 360. It is much better than the trash Next Gen versions of the games. After they quit making wwe games for PS3 I fell out of love with wwe games. The controls on the new games are so terrible it makes me want to cry. Still to this day I play 2K14, 16, & 17 on PS3.

Did anyone remember when with the free camera you was able to watch the inside face of the referee and wrestler?
Now WWE games are too easy even on legend difficulty, you hit three finishers and you win.
But in WWE 2K14 with the Undertaker streak... Even if you do 5\6\7\8 finisher Taker still kicks out.
I remember that if you walk beside Taker he will submit you with the Hell's Gate outta nowhere 😂
Break the Streak was so entertaining, I remember doing 4 Sweet chin music and Taker still managed to kick out.
But one time I was going for the fifth Sweet chin music, I put Shawn near the corner then... Blackout, Taker is behind be, he turns Shawn for the tombstone, I reverse it (I don't know how) I put taker down with a Dropkick, then I go to the corner Sweet chin Music connects!!!

When you are in a match, you are in the final stage of the match, when 1 finisher can be a Gamechanger, example: in WWE 2K18,19,20 When Taker does a Tombstone you can reverse it 2 times.
But in old games there was only 1 reversal for the finisher, and if you fail... The match is over.
Not like now, that you can use a lot of Paybacks to kick out.
I played this game so much that beating the streak was so easy that I beat the streak with Mrmcmahon

update I've completed 30 years of WrestleMania I unlocked retro taker and his mania 14 attire unlocked Eddie unlocked undertaker's Mania 23 and 26 attires and I'm 2 seasons into universe mode

I was just thinking of how now we have like everyone on the roster but it never feels like it, it still feels incomplete even though it isn't really but in 2K14 it feels complete, it feels like you have more people you want to play as in this game compared to now and I think it's because everyone becomes more engaging to play as when the gameplay is that good

Wwe 2k14 was my favorite Wrestling game ever, I remember getting a Game Informer magazine and looking to see what games were coming out, Then I saw this game with Triple H and The Undertaker in a hell in a cell and Shawn Michaels as the Ref. Just like real life, I was so hype when I got it. The storyline was great just everything about this game was great

WWE 2K14 will forever hold a special in my heart as it was the first game (at all) that I played on my new Xbox 360. Up until that point, All I had was the Wii to play the previous WWE games on.

30 yrs of wrestlemania was sooooooo damn good. I remember playing Flair vs Michaels at WM24 one of my favorite matches of all time and reliving this in a Video game with the „Im sorry i love you“ is just too good. Oh and that Ric Flair attire with this dope as Coat…damn
I believe that 2K14 was the perfect game, amazing gameplay, diverse modes and match types, customization was at its peak, and the level of creativity was through the roof. It simply had everything you wanted in a wrestling game, the rosters were juiced and the created finishers was the most fun and dumb thing ever. It took longer for me to make a finisher than making a fully detailed CAW cause I always wanted to make the stupidest things. 3 stunners and a piledriver in one move? Dumb but brilliant.

Imagine the gameplay, myrise, customization and graphics of 2K22 With all the positives of 2K14. That would truly be an ideal game.
10 years on and the series still has not recovered. 2K22 and 23 shook things up a little bit but also took some of the actually good things out that 2K19 and the simulation ones actually still had… either way, none since then have had the magic of the THQ era games.

Wwe13 is also really good and one of my favorites but it's a hard call.. Each one is under 5 bucks unless it jumped in price since I looked last so just get em all lol..

Its a shame 2k never kept the infinite finisher, cause for universe mode, sometimes a squash match is fun to do, not everything needs to be 33 minutes

A great game. And i remember when playing beat the streak if you picked someone who already faced Taker at Mania, it would default the arena to the one it happened in in real life.

Watching this now after seeing the review of 2k24 showcase mode. I really thought we were gonna get every wrestlemania stages and all the other iconic matches that were not included in 2k14. But apparently, they can't do that shit and they focused on the cinematic slingshot crap.
It's My Rise mode's fault, it took the cutscenes in game and the amount of matches, I like that mode because, My Rise was usefull when Rey's showcase was weak, saving the game, also on 2k23, but this year 2k shouldn't have messed with the showcase about Wrestlemania, instead we are going to get married with Gigi Dollin and having a Female wrestler flying in the sky, I don't care which is going to be the next showcase, but this Wrestlemania showcase was important to care, what a letdown

So am I the only one that knows the glitch that if you pick created superstars too fast without their pictures loading the game won't let you proceed to pick the arena. .. only reason I don't play this..
How hard could it have been to make a "Beat the Beast" mode where you go up against an OP Lesnar for the Universal title? I just don't understand what they're doing with these newer games.

This was my favorite wrestling game since the N64 days. The roster was great, the CAW mode was good enough that you could make any wrestler that was missing, and you could still add custom theme music! Entrance music has always been such a big part of wrestling game, I hate that you can 't add custom themes anymore.

The first WWE game I ever played was WWE All Stars. At nine years old, I played games like SVR 2011, 10, WWE 12, 13 and 2K15. They were great. But when I played this for the first time, it was love at first sight. I return to 2K14 almost every month. This game made me love Wrestling games. I will forever love this game
I remember I was so excited about this game it was the first game I ever preordered. The first I started playing it, it kept freezing my Xbox. Until one day the game some how broke its WiFi connection. But I still played it. Then my brother and cousin broke the game disc. And it wasn’t until a couple months ago I bought it again.
That sucks.
