  • Armed with Faith Season 2 Episode 9 with Fr. Gary Kyriacou of Saint Sophia Cathedral Los Angeles. saintsophia.org
What does it really mean to turn the other cheek? Fr. Gary Talks about what it means to offer forgiveness, not only for small offenses day to day, but for truly deep wounds as well. "In peace let us pray to the Lord." Forgiveness can be difficult, but it offers a peace and comfort that we need, increasing our spiritual well being and reducing our pain and stress.

the world was told an eye for an eye? no as Paul said (in Clements writings) to find the truth of Crist read what the Greeks said. Which everything Christ said was nothing new to Greeks. Why since the Greeks explained it in more details on why yet ignored.
Cleobolus of Rhodes 500 BC "Who is an enemy a friend."
Greek Sage Thales 600bc"Love your fellow human even if this means hurting yourself""love your neighbor"
Euripides 400bc"Love is all we have, the only way that each can help the other"
Plato 427 BC"Justice is the greatest good for the soul itself."
Which is why all early churches has greek philosophers at the left side of the narthex which showed that they layted the foundation of Christianity. like Socrates-"only one good, knowledge, & one evil, ignorance."
    Which is why
"Christianity is a spiritual continuation of Hellenism, in almost everything (terminology, symbols, ritual, etc.) & (added later due to political pressure) the Hebrew alleloujah is (both literally & etymologically) the sequence from Zeus to Jesus"~ by theologian, historian, prof., Fr George Metallenos

The Bible advises moderation in all things, including forgiveness. It can be harmful to forgive those who continually harm you and your community. Laws and jails exist for a reason. Christ warned that not everyone who calls him ‘Lord’ will enter heaven, but only those who do God’s will.
Evil should be left to face the consequences of its actions. Nations should exemplify Christian values. Forgiving evil repeatedly can lead to its dominance, causing harm to individuals and societies. This is not about ego, but about justice and balance.
