Hi Mos my bundle was slightly different I had the two vampire in 1:72 the Curtis tomahawk 1:72 and the swordfish also 1/72 for 1:48 I had the Vampire Spitfire F Mk xv111 and finally the North American Mustang P-51D I wish I had of got the Sabre to be honest
So glad you bought this. If I had bought it I would have got 3 kits I already own, a kit a already owned twice and 2 kits in a scale I dont build! Saved me wasting a lot of money. Thanks
Thanks for posting the new bundle Mos, nice to see what is on offer. I wonder though if your savings calculations for club members is missing something? If as a member you bought the kits individually you would get 10% off all of them giving a total cost of £157.45 so a saving of £67.45. Also all of the kits in the bundle are individually on the double Hornby points list giving you in effect another 10% off!
thats a good shout, i was trying to see the savings as a bundle lot comparing RRP with buying the bundle out right. but valid observation and will remember that next time.
My Mystery Bundle last month had a Hawker Tempest and ME 262A in 1/72 In 1/48 I got the Sabre a P51D and a Blenheim Mk1.I got double points and it cost me £90 as a club member
Airfix advertised that they were re-doing this bundle a couple of weeks ago... I last got the bundle in Feb and I got the sabre in it then, think more variation is required.
@@MOS6510Models yeah, when I last got it that kit was also on sale for £20. I am surprised they haven't sold out of them completely. That being said its the only duplicate from when I last bought, I on model 72nd though so most of what you received would have been fired on Ebay ha ha
Hi Mos, after watching this video I decided to buy this mystery bundle. I got all the same kits as you except for the Chipmunk. Instead I got a 1/48 De haviland Tigermoth. I was really hoping for the Chipmunk but the Tigermoth is a nice replacement.
all these 1/48 planes are also seriosuly discounted in major online modelling shops now :) so you basically get same price even with 1/72 at regular price, no bundle, no membership etc
I wish Airfix wasn't so pricey over on this side of the pond. Probably just as well, I need to stop impulse buying... just waiting on a DeHavilland Dash-8 and Buffalo to come out...
to be fair 1/48 isn't really my scale, but when that chipmunk was released I had to get one, I was never a cadet, but I did use to see them pottering about along with bulldogs, all the time in the 80's.
Hiya MOS. There's a problem with your figures mate. If you're club member you'd be paying 10% less for each of the kits too, so the saving would be the same. Either way £74.94 is a hefty saving, it's just not bigger if you're a club member. On the subject of bundles, I've just had a thought. How about a Starter bundle or bundles, one each for aircraft, armour, and vehicles with a Starter Set in each bundle, a few scale 1 kits and possibly one scale 2? Then a newbie modeller has a ready made stash :) If they don't get on with model making and decide to sell excess kits they could sell them a few quid less than Airfix and still make a profit as the bundle saves so much.
yeah.. i was saying it as is because some of the models in the bundle are not available unless in the bundle. but point taken. airfix did bundle a starter set range over christmas so expect the to come around again
@@MOS6510Models Ah OK.. fair enough :) I wonder if they are reducing stock as I heard something yesterday about their financial position being partly carrying too much stock. Bundles are a way to reduce it quicker than one kit at a time.
A great deal, Mos, if you want them all that is. Are all the mystery bundles the same contents, or is it the pot luck I would have expected? If its not pot luck, why don't Airfix tell us whats in the bundle? As I do 172 only (ok the odd 1144 airliner), a 148 bundle not such good value. I wonder if Airfix looks at YT comments.
they do bundles which explain everything you get.. this is a mystery so its a surprise.. the value is there mind, they dont ship garbage, they are all fantastic kits
I don't build bigger than 1/72 and the Swordfish doesn't appeal to me so the only thing in it that appeals to me is the lightning...and already have 2 of them so its an easy pass for ne
They are all massively overpriced. 50p of plastic, couple of pound for design and moulds, couple of pounds for distribution. Everything else is just profiteering.

Nice bundle for anyone not having them already in their stash or wanting to do a second paint scheme.
Who doesn't love a good second paint scheme, right? Variety is the spice of life!
Hi MOS, got a completely different lot of kits today, 1/48 P-51D, 1/48 Vampire F3, 1/48 Spitfire MkV, Skyhawk/Mig-17 duo, 1/72 vampire T.11, 1/72 Tomahawk IIB, 1/72 Tempest MKV, £172.93 worth.
the tempest is a brilliant kit.. i enjoyed building mine

@@MOS6510Models I understand Mos, my modelling budget is somewhat limited so I can't help doing the maths!
Looks a good bundle the fairey swordfish interests me the most
one of their better deals recently imho

i think its more about their stock levels, when one becomes out of stock they replace it with another of similar value

Lots have said the chipmunk was special as they saw them a lot flying around bases
It's a nice bundle but why the mix of scales? It doesn't make sense enough for me to buy it as i only do 72 scale.
might be a nice way to ease into a different scale

Surely the 1.72 stuff should be no more than a tenner, Bring back the Woolies prices.

Don't let corporate greed start out pricing your kits, Airfix.
Great savings on kit you might not like. Risky.
Thanks for unveiling it. Glad I didn't buy it. There's only one kit in there that interests me.
