What a beautifully made video-the way you started with getting ready for the baby chicks, transitioned to getting ready for the new baby, making the rattle, showing the baby with the rattle, and then returning to the chicks. And what a darling, sweet little rattle. Well done, Tom!
What a lovely gift. Made with love and patience. I realise now that this little girl is 6 years old by now. I hope she still has it somewhere to pass down to her children.
What a great gift Tom. This video will a wonderful gift too when the little one is older (at school by now of course!) I hope the rattle has survived thus far.
200 years from now your offspring will be restoring this rattle...."THIS IS A BEAUTIFUL EXAMPLE OF A RATTLE MADE BY THE MASTER TUNER THOMAS JOHNSON OF GORHAM MAINE"..ie that was SWEET!
@@johnsonrestoration Oh it looks really similar to a brand made over here that I sometimes see. They were very popular as they had a very high build quality and attachments for things like bandsaws and jointers. Abit like a shopsmith!
@@johnsonrestoration I invested in one of those captive ring tools which helps get the inside of the ring quite neat, anything for less sanding. I just want to take this opportunity to say thanks for the videos, I've watched nearly all of them and learnt so much. If you weren't on the other side of the world I'd have loved to come and work for you.
Ducks are wonderful and loving creatures in every possible way....until the time comes to put them to bed...then they run like hell and plough your grass into WWl battlefields...We had Khaki Campbells and I suppose we should have known, as they were originally bred from Indian Runners... Nevertheless I have no regrets, save no longer having them...they were really great and the eggs were amazing... Dave
Thanks Tom. I've got two granddaughters born this month, so you've inspired me to make a couple of those. What breed are the chicks? I've got a flock of Buff Orpingtons.
Congrats Tom.. Very cool.. Great design... Looks like the baby really likes it. Thanks for sharing.. How old are the little chicks ? Thanks, Michael Frey FREY WOODWORKING INC.

You put the biggest smile on my face showing the baby with grandpa's made rattle. That can be passed on also to future generations. Awesome
Thanks! I liked that too!

Hi Mike, thanks. In the video they're less than a week, maybe 5 days. They're 3 weeks old now, growing lots of feathers!
Does she still have that rattle, even after seven years? I'm sure mom has tucked it away for safe keeping!! Nice Job!😉
Thanks! I should ask! I hope so
Who's that hammering in the background ??
Thanks! Not sure! can't remember, one of my elves no doubt
