$0 to $4,000 per month in 1 year with a Blog in 2022 - How we'd do it

  • Getting to a full-time income with a blog is a great goal, and one that a lot of our members achieve. But doing it in a year requires a serious and directed effort. In this video we lay out exactly the strategy we're using right now to build new sites, rank content, get traffic, and monetize it all quickly enough to achieve a full-time income faster than ever. This is exactly how I would take a new blog to $4,000 per month in just one year.
    Timestamps:
    0:00 - Breaking down the goal (the numbers)
    1:24 - The timeline
    1:51 - Month 1 (search analysis and topical authority)
    2:49 - Month 1 (blog content)
    3:41 - Month 1 (snippet optimization)
    5:04 - Month 1 (internal linking)
    6:04 - Month 1 (monetization)
    8:36 - Month 2 (building on Month 1)
    9:43 - Month 3 (expanding topics)
    10:58 - Month 4 (supplementing with videos)
    13:13 - 3 Keys to This Timeline
    13:48 - Month 4 (monetization)
    14:28 - Month 5-6 (creating a rhythm)
    14:46 - Month 7 (affiliate marketing growth)
    16:19 - Month 8-10 (becoming a blogging expert)
    16:59 - Finishing out the year and hitting the goal
    17:30 - Using your success as a launch pad

      @arslanajmal9994 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@joebadger2409 I made my site in English and I recommend you to do the same. No language other than English can help you make big money with ads since top dollars come from the American audience only. So if you are aiming to make money, target American audience followed by the UK, Australia, and New Zealand. And as all of these countries have English-speaking people, you have to make site in the same langauage.
      I used to be a freelance writer with clients on Upwork and Fiverr. So it was more like a transition for me like writing content for my own sites instead of that of clients. But this very channel helped me in learning search analysis which is crucial for blog success. I never paid even a cent for any paid course.

    Interesting thoughts here, though people should know the average is a bit inflated because some people just do exceptionally well and drive that number up. I've been doing this for 2 years and have around 170 posts on my main site and it earns $1500 per month. I've seen others at similar numbers, some less, some more. But I feel like for most people that's a more reasonable expectation which to me is still an AMAZING accomplishment.

    I’m in a high paying niche and my epmv is no where near 32 dollars. I average 20. I also think 700+ page views per article is VERY inflated. You’d have to have an insane number of winner articles that bring in tons of traffic and most articles won’t be winners to that magnitude. I’d consider an article bringing 200+ pageviews a month good. Niches are way to saturated and you’d need a crazy good unsaturated niche to even get close to these numbers.

    • @davidvoorhies812
      @davidvoorhies812 2 ปีที่แล้ว +21

      I am 30 posts in and getting about 32k page views per month. I am in the art niche and my EPMV is close to $30 and that is with crappy affiliate money currently and no other monetization. I know a lot of people in project 24 that are at 700+ per article and some are in some crazy saturated niches. It is possible if done correctly.
      Those average values Ricky is talking about is over a TON of P24 members.

      @@davidvoorhies812 So your epmv is 32 on ezoic or some other ad network or are you combining everything? I’m mostly talking about ezoic.
      I also know it is possible to get super good traffic with a lower number of articles but it’s hit or miss. Sometimes you will hit gold and sometimes you will hit dirt. Overall it’s not likely the average person is going to average 700 pageviews per month per article. If you are that’s fantastic but you are the exception, not the rule.

    • @davidvoorhies812
      @davidvoorhies812 2 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      @@Its_Just_Brad I think that is where your limiting beliefs are hurting you. You need to give more credit to yourself.
      In project 24 over a sample of about 1000 people the average *and mean* of those people are getting 700 or more pages per article and the average ad revenue is $32. My average in the crappy beginning of year (Jan 1 to today) EPMV for only Ezoic $33.89. It can be done. Even in competitive niches (albeit they take a bit longer) you can achieve this as an average person. Also, I am definitely an average person when it comes to my writing compared to some of the people in my masterminds and focus groups.
      By following a good process and solid writing of helpful content even an average person can have success.
      I will also say that having a decent video for some or all of your content is almost a requirement now in the age of Google/TH-cam.

    I got rejected by Ezoic, they said I have bot traffics. You made many videos like this. I love these, No complain. But can you please make a video on website security, traffic modifications, firewall settings. Not much. But atleast how to block/reduce bad traffic. This is very important.

    Do you guys have a way in P24 to determine what will be a good niche? How to know if its too high competition or what?

    Numbers are not relevant because earnings depends on various things. However, the info and method you shared are pretty helpful for making a site successful.

    On a previous video of yours, you mentioned that the first 30 posts should be 10 Response, 10 Staple, and 10 Pillar posts. Should you maintain that 30% moving forward IE should a 99 blog post site have 33 Response, 33 Staple, and 33 Pillar posts? How do you recommend maintaining a reasonable ratio as you grow?

      @zapakitul 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This mentality has changed over time, especially with google changes. Write what search analysis gives you and early on it's good to go for long tail keywords and response posts so you can get fast EAT and a big number of articles to bring you traffic.
      I'm in P24 and just starting my 7th month. On my 80th article now and I have 26 who are Staples (with some around 4000 words) and 54 response posts.
      P24 kinda dropped their mentions of pillars and combined pillars and staples into staples.

    I genuinely curious if you've ever looked at the numbers for a site that's entirely the site owner's own products and affiliate income? I'm thinking that you may not have access to a sufficiently large data pool, but since it's what I'm working on, I'm curious.

      I would think you would have done a ton of research to make your product enticing to a buyer. So what info would that buyer be looking for? Then tell them why your product scratches that itch. That’s what you need to write about. So then these numbers would be similar, I think.

    I'd really appreciate if you guys made a video on search analysis, is this the same as SEO? What are some things to look out for, a well rounded video on this would be heavily appreciated.

      I would imagine that’s the content you have to pay for in their course. Search analysis is basically their topic and keyword research, which is absolutely the foundation of any successful site.
      I have a site that has nearly 100 posts. My approach was scattershot - I knew the niche I wanted to enter, and just had a bunch of articles written in that niche - I did absolutely no keyword research.
      As a result the site makes around $600 a month at its peak each year, and drops to around $150 a month during the quieter parts of the year. This is because there is 1 article that has ranked very well in the site, but it’s a seasonal topic.
      So if I had done better (or any!) keyword research, the site would undoubtedly be earning well into the thousands per month at this stage.

    What length do you recommend per article? I read that an SEO optimised article should be between 2000-2500 words. That seems like a lot to do everyday and keep high quality content. Especially writing them in evenings after a whole day at work, looking after family etc.

    • @IncomeSchool
      @IncomeSchool  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      We start at 1,000 words. But some topics merit the 2000+. It’s just often not necessary.

    • @ahadshaikh368
      @ahadshaikh368 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The ideal length is between 1500-2000 words per article. I have been touching the low mark(1500) with some post also around 1000-1200.

    Hallo Income School, I must confess that you are a great team. I have been watching your videos and I am getting tons of tips. My concern however is revolving around how the specific location of the blogger can influence this income range. You see, I am a Kenyan freelance writer and unlike writers from US or UK, it's hard to get well-paying clients irrespective of how good I am in what I do since am not regarded as a native English speaker. My question is, can the location of the blogger affect how good my blog would do?

    In watching some other videos, I have seen that a common practice would be to write about 30 or so articles per site then move on to another site/niche. While I am sure that this does not bring up the same kind of authority that doing writing 210 posts on one topic would, it is certainly a strategy I have seen other videos talk about. What are your thoughts here? One mega site or basically like 7 smaller "complete" by googles definition, but not as authoritative sites?

    Does this mean that we only need to come up with articles that are low competition, that easily get ranked up on Google, only for the first month? How about the rest of the months? Should we still make sure that the articles we come up with are low competition or not necessarily?
