Ever since I gave my pops his first ever big screen Galaxy Note 2 cell phone, he uses it like never before especially discovering how awesome the internet is when u can virtually find anything there. This Asus Memo Pad 8 or the Acer Iconia 8" A1-850 will be perfect for him to enjoy a buggers but not too big screen and with a battery that last longer than his cell phone.... When Xioami comes out with an 8" Tegra X1 powerful tablet, that's when I'll buy one for me!
Be aware that this is the latest model. The older had an AMD chip instead of the Intel and had less features... This one is now less than $100 on eBay as of 6/2015.
Ryan Thomas yes I'm a kid and I am actually using the computer. So it's really good there is parental controls! So I think that it is a great fast I pad and you should totally get it. Wonderful size and has a lot of storage. Probably got a tablet now but oh well. Just to let you know! Hope this helps sorry for late Ness lol bye!
I had an A1 and brought it back to best buy, got this asus 8". In my opinion, the asus wins. Better display and much more touch responsive. I did like the acerA1 design tho.
So, in your opinion, do you think an extra 50 bucks is worth it for the extra inch of screen space? I'm thinking I'll be fine with the 7 inch, but I've never held an 8 incher before, so I'm not sure how big of a difference it would make.

press the power button and volume low button together .. can you shed some light on how the sound on this device is ? low high ? too low, enough for one person viewing ?

Asus has locked out ALL third-party (or any party other than Asus) on all apps, launchers, etc. I spent over an hour on the phone with Asus, trying to get help on using an alternate launcher (and keyboard). Asus reply: we do this for the security of the tablet and it's users".

WRONG ... you can NOT select or use a Google Keyboard, or ANY keyboard, other than what is set as default by Asus. This goes for all apps, launchers, and everything else. My challenge to you: try installing and using Go Launcher on this. Good luck.
Yeah it can Just not the latest updates I got version 1.7.3 my tom on my tab and it runs just fine Maybe a little studering here and there but its okay!

8 inch tablet for Christmas. Will not recognize wi-fi cannot get on line. ATT uverse, lap top works fine. can you help?

Intel in a tablett... pretty sweet. So far no crashes. Processor is reliable n fast. Asus8" owner

Personally I prefer 7 inch tablets... I'd say the $150 version is probably the better deal.

With the cell phones are getting bigger and bigger, a 7 inch would look like almost another cell phone your holding. So 8 is the minimum these days.

I bought this tab around Christmas and I was able to download another keyboard, any application I wanted to download was available in the playstore

Google keyboard works on mine. But I've heard about the
