November 3, 1999: Rage Against the Machine stops by the MTV studios to promote 'The Battle of Los Angeles' with a blistering live set and interviews. Features "Guerrilla Radio."
Check out how @7:06 Tim goes "yeh yeh yeh yeh!" all bro-like making fun of the mtv programed hype and Wilk looking at him a first time with a smurk and then when he hears they going to commercial Wilk then for a second time looks over again, slaps Tims leg and laughs almost as in saying to him "Dude, I know you're making fun of them" but Tim doesn't even look at Wilk because he just don't give a fuck. lol
I remember I just graduated high school that year when this was on. I was watching this LIVE and I recorded it. I've seen Rage once live in New York at Rock Da Bells in New York in 2007. Wutang, who Im a huge fan of, had just finished performing and then Rage closed it out. One of the best shows I have ever been to. I would love to catch them again. Maybe I will next year. Found out they have some dates lined up in March and April.
Man, Rage is one of the most talented bands I've ever seen. The only other band I can think of where each member was this masterful at his instrument was probably The Who in their prime.
I,m a 45 year old female and this is my favorite band, they have something valid to say! That,s whats wrong with this country ,we've forgotten how real freedom of speech, and protest should be used ,to bring light to subjects most of us are unaware of ,I love them!Sandy
OMG i remember watching this when i was 13, RAGE was my favorite band, i know i taped this and the one they did for metallica, thanks so much for posting, brings back a lot of memories
Its funny how people back then used to make fun of these guys for being political. Instead of having groupies like normal rock bands, they had political activists. Today, everyone has finally caught up to Rage's standards waking up.
1999? You do realize that the TRL generation ruined music? Rap somehow managed to recover only 3 years ago, metal is still recovering. However the two genres that completely died thanks to TRL were punk, and rap/rock (which basically died stillborn). This was THE most commercial and sellout generation of musicians: Evanescence, Slipknot, Creed, Staind, Smash Mouth, Nickelback, Kid Rock, Britney Spears, Ying Yang Twins, Ja Rule, Ludacris, Insane Clown Posse, Limp Bizkit, Puddle of Mud, POD, Sum 41, Blink 182... This is like the who's who of people that wrote 12 year old girl (or boy) lyrics while packaging them in their respective genres.
@kmt187 MTV was always and probably always will be a corporation exploiting music. It just happens that at that time alternative rock was so popular that not showing some of it will make them look unpopular.
shouldn't they be boycotting mtv? i mean it's a good way to reach the masses and possibly change the way they think, but at what cost? i mean the people in that crowd look like they just want to rock out and they don't care about the message.
actually on the second part of this thing theres a guy on the crowd that says that his favorite song is voice of the voiceless because of the lyrics about mumia abu-jamal, so i think that you are kinda wrong. You really don't know if the people is there because of the message or just to rock out @@ouncy
@chrispollock they need to make a living too. They are anti-capitalism in the sense that they do not want exploitation of others by big corporations. I don't expect Rage to be starving artistes living in cardboard boxes playing cardboard guitar and drums and bass. They are spreading a message to create awareness and action.

1989-2003 R.I.P REAL MUSIC
I would say the end of 2005 was the last good music period.

Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, The Doors, Deep Pirple, Genesis, Yes, Rush But indeed RatM one of the top ten Livebands Energywise
Add Tool to that list. Phenomenal live show.
i wish i hadnt missed this generation of mtv, i grew up in the early 2000's, and mtv was already airing that 16 and pregnant bullshit
1989-2003 R.I.P REAL MTV
This is the MTV I've been missing. When they actually PLAYED music, not the garbage they have now. I wish I could rewind time to be here.

Nice to see the crowd isnt just standing there like mTV probably wanted them to
The censoring really sucks
My perfect concert - Ratm, Beastie Boys, Nirvana, Tribe Called Quest, Soundgarden, Tom Petty, Metallica
yeah I know, I thought about it but the thing is that it is really expensive to go to UK ! so I don't know, I'm still thinking about it
I remember this!
this is rage TV!
Gutted that Zacks mic is too low for the first part of the performance of Guerrilla Radio. Such a great song
he did !
this mtv is long gone, they would never feature anyone like immortal technique now a days
7:14 "Oh stop it you"
Because Zach refused to talk to Carson Daly or shake his hand. He did a seperate interview with another guy.
When music was REAL!!! , not this stupid fake shit that sounds these days

Cléo Z Talking about Rage , not about the year in particular
Very good. 5 stars for you.

Where'd zack go ???
bravo
i love it
@happygamer91 This was back when MTV played music. They should really change the name of the network.
I saw them once.

Rage Against the Machine - THE Best Band OF ALL FUCKING TIME
I agree with you.
@scorepyo yeah toms dads from kenya too, and his mams irish im pretty sure
I was chanting,"CAN'T STOP US NOW" then my video stopped buffering and cut off... -:'(
they should turn up Zack's mike
rocha should have a better and louder mic, i can barely hear his message to us :/ ...
shouldn't they be boycotting mtv? i mean it's a good way to reach the masses and possibly change the way they think, but at what cost? i mean the people in that crowd look like they just want to rock out and they don't care about the message.
Plus the vocals were turned down so low you couldn't even hear the message.
+patrick miller The best weapon against something is itself.
+ouncy It was loud enough in the studio the TV people just turned down the vocals because of what they were.
So remain silent or very very quiet to protect your message? Lol that makes absolutely no sense.
actually on the second part of this thing theres a guy on the crowd that says that his favorite song is voice of the voiceless because of the lyrics about mumia abu-jamal, so i think that you are kinda wrong. You really don't know if the people is there because of the message or just to rock out @@ouncy
@scorepyo yeah that is right, i can tell he isn't fully black but I know his uncle was the first president of Kenya so yeah
I wonder what Brad whispered at 7:13
@Jffhrd1
Zack looks bad-ass no matter what.
@WiccanMann04 Couldn't have said it better myself!! I've been Ragin it since the 90's!!
Ahh, the solo could have went better, but everyone has a moment or two where it goes a little bad.
This show was the last show of real Mtv
@ItzClobert no he graduated with a bachelor's degree
where can i find that? nd why would he refuse him ?
yeah but he's still a fucking awesome Anarchist so FUCK YEAH !!!
@GeorgVanHalen -One of the best bands of ALL TIME is probably what you meant.
No, he graduated with an Honors B.A. in political science
I need a music channel like this again. Real live music by great fuckin' bands. Not pop bullshit...
Tom Morello is a Harvard dropout isn't he?
He definiettly shows it when he is interviewed.
Tims tone is so damn THICK

@chrispollock they need to make a living too. They are anti-capitalism in the sense that they do not want exploitation of others by big corporations. Where's part 2 that you just deleted?
It's blocked worldwide. I can't do a thing.
@@WebsterJake All the more reason to Rage Against the Machine
And it’s the best part! The interview with Zack. 😭
@TA14um MTV has become into WTF...What the Fuck??????
