The whine you hear is probably gear whine from the the powertrain more than anything. Gear whine is typically much more audible at low speed before engine and road noise takes over, then audible again when moving very quickly (unless it's straight cut gear noise levels).
A military vehicle that looks like it eats other vehicles but they make it sound like the neighbors Honda with a fart can... Infinite Warthogs really need a sound redesign
I think in canon these new warthogs are older models and have older hydrogen fuel cell engines instead of the water combustion engine that has been I'm halo since ce to 4,
One thing that's turned me off of consistently playing the Flights is the lack of polish. I know, I know it doesn't make much sense for a gameplay flight to be the most graphically intensive experience possible, but I really wanted the damage done to vehicles to show more. I wanted the vehicles to have more weight to them, and not feel so snappy, the Mongoose I can forgive because it's an ATV, but the 'Hog and Razorback look floaty. Again it's a Flight/Beta/Gameplay Test/Whatever the Hell, so it's probably due to it being a snapshot build where most stuff works as intended and the finer details are excluded for brevity of system load. I just want this game to come out swinging like I know it can.
@@sewsam. You and me both! Just have gamertag names colored red or blue as all other shooters have done in the past. That way you can keep custom armor colors. And get rid of ALL outlines, or give an option to turn them off.

Call of Duty and Battlefield have been doing the red and blue gamertags above players heads for years and I've never had a problem with enemy visibility. But I agree red vs blue player colors is always a tried and true, MUCH better option than neon player outlines. But if they want to keep custom player armors, the red and blue gamertag works great and has been used extensively.

TBH i'm happy with the more mechanically dynamic destruction of the vehicles but sad that aesthetically it has gotten downgraded since the halo 3 to 5 era, hope they implement it back sooner rather than latter although it is not the biggest dealbreaker for me.
Looks amazing! I do kind of wish that they went with a beefier engine sound for this and the Warthog. In the very least for the Razorback considering it’s essentially just an uparmored one.

Halo Reach had the best warthog sound, though Halo 2 Anniversary's sound was pretty good too because it's like a remix of the old sound and it has multiple gears it shifts through.
I think it's to differentiate it better. Having every warthog variant be green isn't necessary in my eyes. Even Halo CE knew this and made the rockethog black.
@@tjmaximous A grey stripe isn't very noticeable from a distance. I like having color distinction in the UNSC for once; imagine gausshogs being gold, rockethogs being black, the razorback being grey, and the classy green warthog.
Vehicle destruction is a little underwhelming, the red tint it gets looks game-ey and immersion-breaking, and overall the damage is too subtle to convey to the player how destroyed it is Idk not a fan of the effects
Same, all the destruction and explosion effects are really underwhelming. Like, every other aspect of the game is polished except the destruction. I don't know, it's confusing.

Eitherway does it really matter? I can get how it's cheap but I never once stopped in game and drove around mid gunfight and thought "hmmm this warthog engine sounds really good! It's what makes halo the best!"

^ I doubt the damage system will change. They could tweak the vehicle handling but tbh it felt fine for me

Handling does need to feel heavier like Reach’s did and the damage system needs to hold a candle to Halo 3’s.
