By "hurt" I wasn't referring to general damage but to the physical pain response of your liver swelling - whether in the moment or the day afterwards. My point being that for some people even if they want to get drunk they have to drink an amount large enough to cause significant damage (and accompanying pain), and even then the buzz is slight and fades too quickly to be worth the cost in damage. So you're not adding anything to the conversation here.

I'd say I'm pretty happy with how my body reacts to alcohol: When I go to relax at a bar on my own after work to watch some TH-cam, I can get a pretty good buzz if I down half a litre of beer in like 10-15 minutes. I can then increase the buzz by continuing with another beer for about 20-30 minutes. I usually have a small bag of chips to accompany the drinks. By the time I've finished my second beer I usually have caught up with most of my TH-cam subscriptions and Vtuber clips and am ready to go home. Sometimes I might feel like having 1 or 2 more pints, depending on my mood and other factors. Going for many more drinks than that would require me to start taking some steps to prevent a nasty hangover, like drinking lots of water before going to bed. Sure, my drinking style is kind of front-heavy and is great for 1-2 hours of relaxation, but it's not great for endurance sessions, when there's company involved. My drinking style tends to lend itself well to a quick buzz that can fade out pretty fast. Thankfully, if need be, I can drink more to keep up with the crowd, but then hangover prevention methods would have be implemented, as stated earlier. To be honest, I was kind of surprised to learn that people actually want to be lightweight. I actually like the taste of some beers and other alcoholic drinks, and I also like the feeling of gulping large amounts of beer at once, it feels refreshing. I wouldn't be able to enjoy as many drinks, if I were limited to just like 1-2 small cans of light beer and over a longish period of time. P.S. I'm also financially at a worry-free situation, so having to pay more to get a good buzz, is not really a problem for me.
I remember once when I was seven or eight years old someone poured ethyl alcohol into a water bottle. As you can see, the last thing I remember was holding that bottle in my hands. After that, I didn't go near alcohol until I was 16. When I was 16, my friends invited me to a party and there was cognac, etc. I drank quite a lot, but I didn't get high and realized it wasn't worth it. And now I feel sad that almost any party with peers can't do without alcohol. As if they think it's impossible to have fun without alcohol.
I remember the 16th birthday of my cousin who is 10 years younger than I am. She invited a bunch of friends, drinking beer and stuff, while us adults had sticky notes with names on our foreheads and we had to find out the names with yes or no questions. After a while I heard one of her friends saying, that we have more fun than they have. And we were all sober.
Lately I've had much success by going real easy on the booze and mostly sticking to alcohol free beer. See, my brain doesn't really know the difference, so I still get a placebo-buzz just from the taste. So now I can easily party all night without punishing my body. Although, part of the reason I started doing this is that alcohol just doesn't do much for me anymore beyond loosening my tongue a bit. So there is little to gain from drinking myself sideways like I used to when I was 19.

I don’t get a buzz from alcohol, just drowsiness after (many) drinks. So I drink for the flavor, including the unique flavors of various alcohols. Not a beer guy, what with the little to no buzz. I prefer mead, cider, rum, champagne, gin, liquor, and other liqueurs, etc. because they actually taste good. My favorite mixed drinks in particular are mules and margaritas! Mulled wines are also a personal favorite to make! Oh I did forget about Sake when I posted. Love cold sake, filtered or unfiltered, especially the blossom-flavored.
I only drink with friends, never alone, usually with alcohol bought in supermarket. (because you get entire bottles🍾 at the price of one glass in a bar 🍸) I was never able to drink enough to forget what i did, or to 🤢

this exact reason is why I try not to drink often, and when i do drink it's normally a vodka mix that I've worked on that 1)removed the alcoholic harshness (cause I buy cheap) and 2) tastes brilliant, while still being high 20's to mid 30's in terms of Volume (or 46-70 proof). that way, I can make a mixer of 2-3 shots and the rest is whatever I'm pairing with it, total overall volume being about 50cl, and that's my drink for the hour, with maybe a cheeky straight shot in as a follow between mixed drinks. This way, I spend about idk, £30? and have an absolute BLAST cause I can keep pace with all my lightweight friends who just down a couple cans of low vol beer/cider/bitters, for close to the same costs! my favourite is to take a 70cl bottle of vodka, add sour apple hardboiled sweets to it till it's supersaturated (normally it adds roughly 30cl's of to the overall volume, so it roughly drops the % from 37.5 to about 28-30%abv) and then either mix with appletieser if you've got the money and want it fizzy, or just apple juice. Straight up tastes like a sweet and sour apple drink, you wouldn't know it's alcohol till you had a couple mixes of it xD everyone I've shared it with, be they drinkers or not, have told me that it's "a dangerous drink" because of this, and that was the goal!

Having a perfectly average alcohol tolerance (2-3 beers to get a buzz) is ideal for me. It's a gradual spectrum of intoxication so I can easily figure out where I'm at. Being a lightweight would suck because I'd drink one drink and then fall asleep or something.
Using beer as measurement is just so confusing, they range from 2% alcohol for the lightest beer to easily 12 to 13% for strong standart beer that don't try to break record. and you are definitely not going to get the same buzz from a triple than from fruit Lambic.
I dunno how much Fauna enjoys the taste of alcoholic beverages but if you do enjoy their taste then I see it as a win with high tolerance. If you don’t and thereby just drink alcohol to get drunk then I understand the annoyance.

Whenever you drink, there is always, ALWAYS one objective: to be LESS DRUNK than the others! Those who wanna be MORE drunk are missing the point of drinking, and going home without the girl, with their clothes drenched in vomit, or not going home at all, worst case going to the hospital. And then there's the hangover thing, which again, is rougher if you were more drunk. So yeah, the point is to be LESS drunk than others... of course it would be perfect for everyone to be equally drunk - just right to relax a little and to gain more confidence for social mingling, but that's almost impossible. Fauna is lucky, she just doesn't realize it. Yet.

Obviously if your only angle to drinking is "get the chick" then yeah probably best to drink just a couple of beer and call it quits but you are certainly missing out on other aspects of drinking.

It seriously sucks having to drink almost two 1.75L bottles of vodka just to get drunk. Especially when you can feel your stomach trying to pace you.
Anyone here that will finish a bottle or two of not particularly strong beer and will feel the buzz if they stopped but will be a match for the heaviest drinkers they didn't? I find it weird because I'm the only one I know of whose alcohol tolerance works like that.
I have quite the high tolerance myself, though I haven't drank in a little while, I'm not one to easily get drunk

Having a perfectly average alcohol tolerance (2-3 beers to get a buzz) is ideal for me. It's a gradual spectrum of intoxication so I can easily figure out where I'm at. Being a lightweight would suck because I'd drink one drink and then fall asleep or something.
Using beer as measurement is just so confusing, they range from 2% alcohol for the lightest beer to easily 12 to 13% for strong standart beer that don't try to break record. and you are definitely not going to get the same buzz from a triple than from fruit Lambic.

I dunno how much Fauna enjoys the taste of alcoholic beverages but if you do enjoy their taste then I see it as a win with high tolerance. If you don’t and thereby just drink alcohol to get drunk then I understand the annoyance.
Yeah, not everybody's goal is to just mess with their cognitive abilities, some people just want the taste
Alcohol is not equal, there are thousands of different alcohol drinks with wildly different tastes

as a man i dont mind having a high alcohol tolerance but considering that i still manage to sleep whenever i am tired and its because i cant get tired of drinking its just when drinking session got boring i got myself out of it even if im not drunk whille my cousins are drunk already and i am still sober lol
I mean, having high alcohol tolerance is a good thing. Sorry for being a spoilsport tho. You can enjoy the drink without being worry to be drunk. You can appreciate the beverages more when you're sober.

Whenever you drink, there is always, ALWAYS one objective: to be LESS DRUNK than the others! Those who wanna be MORE drunk are missing the point of drinking, and going home without the girl, with their clothes drenched in vomit, or not going home at all, worst case going to the hospital. And then there's the hangover thing, which again, is rougher if you were more drunk.
So yeah, the point is to be LESS drunk than others... of course it would be perfect for everyone to be equally drunk - just right to relax a little and to gain more confidence for social mingling, but that's almost impossible.

Nah man. You got it wrong. Because if the point is to be less drunk then don´t drink at all. Sometimes you don´t want to go home with somebody else and just get drunk like drinking with the homies and having a good time being drunk together. And no just because you want to be more drunk doesn´t mean you will vomit etc. Those are the people who don´t know theyr limit yet, lightweight or heavyweight doesn´t matter.
Obviously if your only angle to drinking is "get the chick" then yeah probably best to drink just a couple of beer and call it quits but you are certainly missing out on other aspects of drinking.
@@JBasilix Drinking alcohol by itself is VERY RARELY the goal though... Even what you talk about, the goal is to have a good time with the homies, right? So i would say my point still stands, but sure, sometimes people just wanna drink to enhance some other experience. Most of that just ends up in alco abuse, overdrinking, drunkenness, and THAT by itself never seems to be the goal.
