      Hello from u.k.
Same here, my two sons, play guitars and bass very well both in their early 30s
Picked up and got frustrated and put down guitar so many times.
Didn’t know about baritone ukulele, having a slight knowledge
Of guitar has helped me a lot.
Also easier on my mid 60s fingers, wished I found it years ago!

I like the lava U just because it’s a stand alone ukulele that can be used standard or with effects. So it very versatile. By the time you buy a amplifier, cable, electric ukulele it come out to the same price without all the extra bags. Thanks for the comparison, appreciated

Looks pretty cool, but I make my own. Making your own instruments is as much fun as playing. I have been getting kits from Stew Mac, great company, and adding my own embellishments. I’ll be making one soon from scratch.

I'd say that the Makai has a fuller, more complex midrange, making the tone more interesting. But there's no doubt to me that the other one has a portable fun aspect that is unique. I don't think that it would be my only ukulele, but it'd be a cool addition to my stable.

I dont know is that your honest opinion? I listened with headphones and studio moniters and the Lava sadly seemed pretty muffled an not as clear or rich compared to the regular uke. Honestly I still want one but for the price you could get a very nice regular uke. Is tough.

  • @Madshadowgolem

Awesome...not awesone. Opps. The carbon fiber still sounds like a plastic lunch box compared to a wooden instrument unfortunately. I with they could get the sound sorted out for carbon fiber, it seems like for what they cost it should sound a lot better. At least they kept this one under 400$.
