3M Headlight Restoration Kit Review! Makes the Subaru Crosstrek look NEW!

  • After having the 3M Headlight Restoration kit recommended to me by various people, I decided to go out and buy it myself to see what the hype was about. Being terrified to sand down my headlights with a drill, I was nervous going into this. Though the detailed instructions, images, and some TH-cam videos made this process worry free and easy to use!
    My headlights were just a bit hazy and yellow at the tops though there are FAR worse examples on the roads and on TH-cam that have seen great success with this kit. And just an extra side note, this is not an advertisement for 3M, I went out on Amazon to buy this product and try it out myself!
    And well after around an hour of work, the results were phenomenal with headlights looking like they were brand new. Highly recommend!

    You know what causes them to be foggy after you do the wet buff? And part of me wishing it were a spray clear coat...

    I think I would leave the tape on until after coating was applied, that way you minimize the amount of coating that gets on the paint

    I see a lot of people who don’t understand the process. You’re not just scratching up the surface, you are removing the oxidized layer of plastic, so make sure you work the area as per instructions before moving on.

    Great video and finnish, Shame about the drill? It's recommended a 2 speed variable drill gives best results, For stage 1+ 2 select 1 slow speed, Third stage slightly higher as by adding water keeps the lens surface cooler, 3m as saved on cost by not including any headlight polish? In my opinion a must do to hydrate and seal the lens, And finally I ditched the wipes in favour of a professional product Maguires clearcoat with added UV protection!! 🤔😎👍

      At what stage in the video would you use use a wet polish compound ? I’m about to use this kit

    • @keithroberts5611
      @keithroberts5611 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      After applying the p3000 trizact disk!! Wash the lens with any glass cleaner spray and dry, The use the headlight polish compand untill your happy with the clarity and shine!! After wipe over the lens with a clean micro fibre cloth, Then add the Clearcoat either wipes or a certified clearcoat spray for headlights only!!hope this helps you out🤔🇬🇧👍

      @@keithroberts5611 sounds good. I have a super small rotary polisher I used for tight spots when I detail. Figured I should give it a shot with some polish on the headlights, then I saw this comment. Thanks for the reply

    Curious as to why you didn’t raise the hood?

    • @Allcarnews
      @Allcarnews  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I would've had to then tape around all the plastic housing under the hood anyways and then the dust would get all under the engine bay... either would've been annoying

    Are you "when you speak" trying to compete with the RPMs of the drill? If you are trying to demonstrate something to somebody slow down and speak clearly. It sounds like you are trying to chew food at the same time you speak. Video OK just slow down a little and speak clearly.
