    I've been told I dance like a Dominican (I'm Mexican By The Way) and I'm honored. Dominicans have great rhythm when it comes to Bachata and I base my moves to Dominican dancers. Great Video guys

    Great work Troy! I have been married to a Dominican for 5 yrs and while having been taught the technique I am always lost not feeling the music as nobody ever explained to me the method of the man leading and going with the music. I guess that's what happens when only females teach you! Now with your tips I shall dance bachata como un dominicano.

      The new Bachata is just a copy of the Zouk Lambada or Lambazouk, danced to Zouk and Lambada music ,Zouk from 2000 (Brazilian Zouk)danced to any music style even Rap.

    Love it! I learned bachata "the other modern way" and let me tell you, I like this a whole lot better and it just makes more sense! Me and my husband just got back from the DR and fell even more in love! Beautiful dancers these two in the video!

    Never get tired of seeing these two dance together and sucks they don't dance together like that anymore! I learned Dominican bachata because of these two. When ever I go dancing the woman are always shock when they find out I'm black and not Dominican lol.

      If you got to clarify another type of bachata then its not bachata. Theres only one bachata.

      There’s bachata music and bachata dance. In recent years, bachata music quickly gained popularity and became mainstream with Latin audiences. This resulted in two things: 1. The bachata music sound that was coming out became more “popish” and less authentically Dominican sounding, and 2. It left a lot of people who have no background of bachata music or dance to interpret it the on the dance floor for themselves. With a less authentically Dominican music sound, came a less authentically Dominican way of dancing it, sadly. And that is why Troy and Jorjet need to make a video like this in the first place. Most non-Dominican people know bachata, but not it’s roots; that includes not knowing the authentic Dominican sound and style of dancing it.

      exactly

    • @pitinicori
      @pitinicori 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Bachata was invented in PR and became a hit and popularized when it got to DR. so it is Dominican for sure but it was first invented in Puerto Rico. Like how the roots of salsa were made in Cuba but salsa was invented to what it is now by Ricans.

  • @IndigoWisdom1
    @IndigoWisdom1 11 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    Omg! So thankful and grateful that you actually spoke this this very important point, for Latin dancers, especially club dancers. I am very partial to the original/Dominican, smooth styling and feel. Much love & keep doing these, highlighting the points not often spoken out there in the mainstream

    I am very impressed by this style of dance! I have a studio out here in LA where I teach Bachata.I am trying my best to learn from your videos and incorporate it into the style I already know. I think Dominican style is better than your typical..1,2,3, hip! 1,2,3, hip! Everybody seems to think bachata is all about being all over your partner, but your absolutely right. Footwork, tension, and musicality is where its at! Mad respect!!

    Bachata TH-cam Classic, can't believe its 10 years old now. Troy makes some important points that still very relevant. Listen to the music. Don't over exaggerate you touch or tap, Bachata doesn't have to, nor should it always be danced close (pressed) together.

    yo escuche la bachata por primera vez a mis 6 años por medio de mi padrino que es dominicano, en la actualidad tengo 25 años y me encanta la bachata como que fuera el folklore de mi pais VENEZUELA, a pesar de que sus raices son de fuera yo adoro la bachata y no soy bailarina profesional pero cuando la bailo de apasiono y la disfruto. asi que viva la bachata!! es una musica que me revive momentos con mi padrino.

    What I absolutely love about your this videos and others from you is that you show that bachata can be danced and be sexy without grinding all over each other the whole time or being skin to skin. it's refreshing. Plus you have crisp and beautiful footwork that's more interesting then the general 1,2,3 hip, 1,2,3 hip...Thanks for your uploads.

    i love dancing like this with my boyfriend. its so much fun, and i really wouldnt suggest coming out with footwork with some random girl you never know how much they know. personally ive been learning to dance THIS type of bachata since i was 7 and im 16 now. and ive been dancing with my boyfriend since i was 13 so i mean its easier for us to dance together and be comfortable and really follow the other one and actually predict what type of footwork he might do.

    OOOh so good! Thank you Troy and Jorjet. I'm living in China, 4 years Teaching. They are too much sensual bachata...i can't even call it bachata. They bring these ballet dancers doing workshops, calling it bachata,..men in skin tight jeans. I ain't feeling it. We got to bring the DRB back!

      Same here in Los Angeles. Sensual bachata, exaggerating on movements and throwing the women left and right is becoming more common. We are losing the tradition way of dancing bachata (footwork, elegance, and moving to the rhythm)!

I LOVE IT....I learned in ATL and use to hang out a lot in NY but Im from Los Angeles which no great Bachateros here...but si hay una Bachatera!!!!! thanks for the Video Great Job!
